Call Duology #2

Final Call

Rate this book
In the highly anticipated sequel to LATE CALL, Dayton and Aaron learn once more than not everything is as straightforward as it seems, and if they have any chance of getting their long-awaited happily-ever-after, they'll have to work for it...

We crashed and burned like a falling plane. Hard and fast with an inevitable explosion. Another few weeks together changed my life the way the first did. At twenty-four, I became naïve again. I became a dreamer again. A believer. And walking away hurts just as much as it did seven years ago.

But over doesn’t have to mean over-at least in Aaron Stone’s mind. His pursuit is relentless, his determination unwavering. He’ll go to any lengths to keep me and prove that I belong to him. Unfortunately, love isn’t easy, and whether or not I forgive him is irrelevant to his past catching up with us. Once again, our relationship is haunted by a secret, one that could destroy everything, and the secret is born from the need to protect the other…

But the tables have turned, because the secret is mine.

Final Call is the second and final book in the Call series and is the conclusion to Aaron and Dayton's story. It's is not a standalone and Late Call must be read first.

After the ending of book one I could hardly wait to get my hands on books two. This popped up on my Kindle at midnight and my tummy literally did a little jig. I was BEYOND excited. I started reading immediately and was up till 4 am. When I blinked my sleepy eyes open the next morning--after falling asleep with my Kindle on my face--the FIRST and ONLY thought I had was this book.

IT'S AN ADDICTING SERIES!!!

These characters stole my heart. They're sexy, but so real and compelling. I love this authors writing. It's PERFECTION. Sometimes when you go to read a follow up book you come out disappointed. That is NOT the case with this one. She wrapped it up brilliantly and I was left feeling so happy and fulfilled.

If you're looking for a FUN, SEXY, ALL NIGHT, CAN'T PUT IT DOWN read then grab this. You'll be happy you did.

It goes down as one of my FAVORITE series of 2014!

5 WORD-FUCKING STARS!

This series became one of my addictions since Late Call came out. And even tho I've been a lot busy these past few days, I never forgot to check my Aaron Stone fix every night before bed. Took me a while before I finished this one due to my hectic schedule, but I really did savour each page. So. Fucking. Worth. It. Aaron Stone has this sweet charm plus the growling tiger inside all that package. Dirty talker, passionate, gorgeous, David-Gandy HOT, romantic, fierce, etc..

"Every time I kiss you, I taste the rest of my life. I won't stop fighting for you until you taste yours, too."

Right. I really love how Emma Hart writes. She's so freaking romantic, and that's what I love about her. She could write something too overwhelming especially when it comes to a guy like Aaron Stone.. dear god.. And BOOM.. I'm melting.

"I love you every second of my life, and that love is so strong that it encompasses everything else I feel."

Seriously? That sums up what I wanted to hear from every guy in this world! Aaron Stone should fucking exist, dear god, I would hunt that man down. If he would tell me all those kinds of sweet shit everyday, I'd die happy!

"Whispering?" He thrusts into me harder. "I'm fucking you like this and you're whispering my name?"

That line would be forever marked in my mind, thank you. One more thing I love about Emma Hart is that.. She knows what she's writing. Aaron and Dayton's bed scenes were awesomely detailed, I can't help but to bite my lip every damn time. They were just damn hot, I swear you could see me squirm. LOL. The way she wrote Aaron's undying-love-feelings for Dayton is seriously overwhelming, beautiful, and heart-melting. The chemistry between the two leads is just so fucking strong. The tension, the attraction.. ALL OT IT. They were all perfect.

"I'm going to be the most selfish bastard in the world and keep you all to myself for as long as I can."

The whole story between Aaron and Dayton, same goes for the bitch Naomi, is thrilling. I so so so love how the story went from sweet and romantic to a nerve-wrecking twist! The Aaron & Dayton sexcapade were too hot, that I had to pout when its cut short.

I love this series too much! I can't believe Liv and Ty's gonna be next on the line of love. *giggles*

GOD I CANT WAIT NO MORE!!

This book was pretty underwhelming for me. So Aaron basically goes out of his way to prove to Dayton that he's sorry for his lie by omission. He pretty much forces himself on Dayton regardless of whether or not she tells him she needs time. This book had potential but honestly it just felt like reading Fifty Shades of Grey all over again and I didn't like that one the first time I read it. The similarities between the two books were uncanny. The constant "Miss Black "Mr Stone" references were annoying, the dirty talk was so boring and not sexy at all, the sex scenes itself were yawn inducing, and Aaron's over possessive personality (which I usually love in a hero) were just too similiar to FSOG for me. Nothing happens the entire book but a bunch of eye rolling sex scenes and a last minute quick fix of the whole "secret from her past" situation. I found myself pretty much skimming past most of the book just to see how it ends.

Where the first book is in need of a stronger plot, this one needs to go on a scavenger hunt to even find one. There is really nothing to it. It's just controlling, steamy - but without real chemistry and I found myself skimming lots of it. There is one "conflict" but it's handled too quickly and the whole book just fell flat for me. Not my cup of tea.
I won't read Liv's spin off series, I've had my fill with this one.

This is the second part of the Call series, Late Call (book 1) needs to be read before starting Final Call.

I was lucky enough to be one of the few who received an arc for Final Call and I was certainly glad of this. I'm an impatient person and desperate to read the conclusion to Dayton and Aaron's story.

First off, we start up where Late Call finished. Stupid cliffhanger. Poor Dayton. Idiotic Aaron. Dayton is back in Seattle and trying to put herself back together again. She knew she was in love with Aaron Stone and she knew she was in for a rough time.

She returned to work as a call girl but, yet again, Aaron "Mr Requirement" Stone is there to throw a spanner in the works and ends up buying her time. All of it. For the foreseeable future. There are no lengths he will go to in order to get her back and win her over. Again!

"Being without you is like my soul has been shredded in the most brutal way."

SWOON

Dayton has some friendly pushes in the right direction - and by right direction I mean straight towards Aaron. She ends up embarking on another trip with him overseas. During this time she meets some of Aaron's family (namely the exquisite Tyler Stone, cousin of Aaron!) and forces herself to take stock of her life and her relationship with Aaron. Without anything keeping her there or holding her back.

"I want to know that, in the end, the pain will be worth it. I want to know if the fights and the doubts and the hurtful words thrown carelessly in the heat of the moment are worth it."

You'll have to read for yourself to find out how tumultuous their path to happiness with one another really is but I will say this - you haven't seen the last of Naomi (it really is possible to full-on hate a fictional character!) and you certainly haven't seen all that the delectable Mr Stone, big shot CEO, has to offer. There is drama, there are fireworks (in and out of the bedroom *wink wink nudge nudge*), there are some downright panty melting moments and, by God, there are some scorching HOT scenes.

Emma, you have surpassed yourself. Without a doubt, this is the best conclusion possible and I love you long time for giving us Aaron and Dayton's story. The writing style flows effortlessly and it made their story a joy to read. I can't wait to read more in Tyler and Liv's book which is promising to be hot, hot, hot!

5 undoubtably deserved stars, thank you Emma <3

The second installment on this duollogy, after some point, made me feel a little bored.. We could predict how this book would end up early enough and there have been only a few twists in the plot; anyway, I enjoyed it, but not as much as the first one though

I have the same comments I've had on the first book in the duology.
He is possesive, demanding and a bit of a chauvinist.
She slowly stops fighting his behavior and it is presented in as her loving him and understanding that he loves her enough to control her.
Um... that isn't love.

The drama isn't to far from these two with Aaron's ex. Naomi, Aaron's ex wife has the dirty i in Dayton, and she has demands to keep quiet. Dayton is the one holding the secret now as she is so use to taking care of things herself. What she needs to realize is Aaron Will go to the ends of the earth 🌎 to protect her and money is no object. Can they shut up her and the big story before it goes public or will this destroy Aaron and Dayton a d his business or will they finally go e the happiness they do want. Amazing

this book is actually a fairy-tale: love that overcomes everything - society, shaming, press, evil ex-wife and arguments that always end in bed (or out of it) but it was a cute reading that gives you a smile. sometimes that is all you need.

~~ 5 " Mr. Requirement" Stars ~~

OMG!!!!  I absolutely loved this book!! To me this one was even better than book 1( Late Call )  I could gush and gush about this story.

Final Call is the conclusion of Aaron and Dayton's story.  I thought Emma did a great job with wrapping things up from book 1 and showing the indestructible bond between Aaron and Dayton.  I thought the writing was flawless.  The story was intriguing and kept my focus and attention throughout the whole book.  Emma created characters in this story who were so lovable and relatable it was amazing.  She made me fall more in love with Aaron and Dayton in this book but gave us some new characters that were just as great (Tyler Stone).

I think this book was just the right pace and length.  She created a little drama to keep this story a page turner but not to much to be over the top.  I loved how she showed that Aaron and Dayton were willing to work through things together.  I was also extremely happy that she didn't drag out the drama from the end of book 1 for too long in this book.  We get our resolution to that issue pretty quickly.  But don't worry Aaron and Dayton still had some hurdles to overcome ;)

Aaron Stone …. he is my happy place!!!! This man is beyond amazing. I have to say that he is right up there on the top of my BBF list with the likes of Christian Grey, Gideon Cross, and Ethan Blackstone!!!! Aaron was just the right mix of sweet and caring to Alpha and possessive. This man curled my toes.

"There's nothing funny about making you come, Dayton. Nor is there anything funny about having my c*ck so deep inside you that you can't feel anything but me."…Aaron Stone

Emma truly created a character who knows how to melt your panties and make your checks blush. I also loved how possessive and protective he was of Dayton. I truly felt how much he loved her and would do ANYTHING to protect her and keep her safe.

"I know the works "off limits" aren't something you're used to, Ty, but look at her that way again and I'll see to it you're unable to entertain another woman again."…Aaron Stone

As for Dayton….I have to say I liked her so much more in this book then in Late Call. In Late Call she seemed very closed off and cold and she didn't really ever warm up to Aaron. In this book I felt she made a complete 180. I could feel the love she had for Aaron and that she was also willing to do anything to protect him. What I think I loved the most though was that she never really lost her true self in this book. She was still the independent and sassy girl we meet in book 1. Once she was willing to see past Aaron's mistake, you could totally feel what she was feeling for him. Emma did a wonderful job of creating a love story that survives the test of time and comes out even stronger in the end.

"We've made it crystal clear that our love has the strength of a thousand diamonds. Yes, you can scratch it. You can even chip it if you're really lucky. But you'll never break it."…Dayton Black

As for the secondary characters….I loved that we get to see more of Liv, Monique, Aunt Leigh, and Carly and Brandon (Aaron's Parents) I was glad we got to see a new side to most of these characters. They turned out to be such a great support system for both Aaron and Dayton. We are also introduced to some new people…Tyler and Tessa Stone (Aaron's Cousins) and Dottie (Aaron's assistant) I loved each of the characters. They had me laughing on more than one occasion. I can't wait for the next book which is going to be Tyler and Liv's story. (That should be a fun and interesting story)

I would DEFINITELY recommend this book/series!!!! If you are looking for a great, fun and spicy love story with two Amazing characters, then you don't want to pass this book up!!!!!

This was the conclusion to Aaron Stone and Dayton Black's love story and it was passionately, erotically and beautifully written. It's 5 stars hands down for me!!

In Late Call we were thrown a major secret that I had no idea was coming. Once Dayton found out she was heartbroken and done with Aaron Stone, even though he still owned her heart permanently.

I loved how sweet, loving, alpha male, passionate, territorial and sexy Aaron is towards Dayton! I fell in love with him in Late Call but I FELL EVEN MORE IN LOVE with him in Final Call!! The sex scenes are steamy, very passionate and beautifully written. There is drama with Aaron's ex that Dayton feels she has to deal with on her own - stubborn woman - but when Aaron gets a hold of the situation, well lets just say I never want to have a pissed off Aaron Stone as my enemy!! As you read this passionate love story you see how much love Aaron has for Dayton "Bambi" and how he will stop at nothing to protect and take care of her. You have to read this story, get lost in it and realize that there is true love out there. I loved the the secondary characters Liv- Dayton's BF and Tyler- Aaron's cousin as well as BF and can't wait for their story. Emma, can we please also get an update on Aaron & Dayton's upcoming wedding pretty please either in Tyler & Liv's book or a novella?? :-)

There are so many quotes that are my favorites I couldn't chose just one:

"She fucked with you Dayton. I don't take kindly to people fucking with the most important person in my life."

"Aaron pushes himself inside me slowly, so slowly that I feel the stretching of all my muscles as every inch of him finds his home. Each stroke is deeper than the last, long sweet, deliciously erotic. His heavy breath in my ear is seductive, and I don't remember ever feeling this way."

"..we both ignore the fact I belong to you. you own me. You always have and you always will. That's the very bottom of it, the defining line. you own me so fucking completely that I have to buy you because dammit, Day, if I can't have you, no one else is going to either."

"Because you're the very air I breathe, Dayton. You're the one thing that keeps my heart beating."

"Strength comes from giving yourself to another. It comes from deep in your heart, the very thing you share with that other person. It comes from knowing that fear isn't an option where a future is so certain."

Mushy. There were a lot of conversations between Dayton and Aaron that were very mushy. All in all, I'm glad it's over. It was an okay read. Not much happens except a predictable arc of reconciliation between lovers, a moment of drama, and an engagement.

The call girl finally gets her man. She stops prostituting (her way of life) to focus on her relationship, and the two of them forge ahead with plans to marry by the end of the novel.

The only drama that puts a kink in their relationship is the ex-wife. Unhappy with the terms of her divorce settlement, she threatens to expose Dayton for the ex-whore that she used to be.

This story focuses on a filthy rich attractive man who uses his wealth and power to get what he wants. He throws money around and will do anything to protect the woman he loves.

Dayton pretends to be an independent woman while secretly loving being told what to do and being taken care of. She complains about wanting to pay her own way, but really enjoys being "forced" to shop for lingerie and being waited on. Of course, her money all comes from selling her body to exclusive clients who are also fabulously wealthy.

I don't know why I read this novel except I started the first one and wanted to see it through. I suppose the difference with this novel is that the woman/heroine is classified as an actual prostitute instead of a virgin or less experienced of the couple in a genre that automatically poses the man as a man-whore. Society is more forgiving and more ready to accept a man bedding multiple partners whereas a woman is deemed a social pariah.

Final Call by Emma Hart has an HEA with an epilogue that hints at a continuation of the story except with the heroine's best friend and her fiancé's cousin. I think I'll skip it.

It is safe to say that Aaron obsession with Dayton's a** has not changed, "I fake a heavy sigh and walk through the door. His hand connects with my a** sharply and I jump and squeal loudly." He's also possessive when it comes to his woman's body, "Dayton Lauren Black." His voice lowers, heat flaring in his eyes. "If I can see the curve of your gorgeous little bare a** beneath the hem of your shorts, they're unsuitable for anyone's eyes but my own. Get changed. Now." The boy is always thinking naughty things where Dayton is concerned, "and when I'm not so tired, this is happening again. You on this desk in my shirt, that is. I am incredibly tempted to eff you right now." Normally (sometimes) I don't really pay attention to secondary characters but Tyler that boy stuck out like a sore thumb and I'm anxiously waiting for his book.

Final Call is a smart and sexy read. I enjoyed every second of this book and didn't want it to end. Final Call picks up right where Late Call left off and gave me everything that I needed and more. I loved the angst, the drama and of course the romance!!!! This was a really great conclusion to this series and did not disappoint!

This was weak-in-the-knees, heart-fluttering book love! Final Call had everything that I adored in the first book--sex, sass, and sweet romance--but there was also much more this time around. Emma Hart's brilliant, knockout writing swept me off my feet once again, and Aaron Stone and Dayton Black are officially on my bookshelf as one of my favorite couples ever

I shouldn't miss him at all. But I do.

I miss him the way I love him.

Entirely.

Book two picks up right where book one left off, with Dayton still reeling after Aaron's big secret was revealed in Paris. We're immediately reacquainted with Dayton's fiery attitude, her no-BS smart mouth that made me declare "love at first read." In the beginning, I was feeling just as hot-headed and devastated as she was!

"You might own my heart, Aaron Stone, but that doesn't give you the right to abuse it...all I see is a man unwilling to admit his mistakes...And for a man so confident and powerful, it's not a good look for you."

"Insults now?"

"No, the truth. Isn't it a bitch?"

There was smart to her bitchy side, though. I get turned off by heroines who reduce themselves to brats, so I absolutely loved how Dayton always retained her witty, sharp tongue even when she was most furious. There were moments--throughout the entire book, really--when she was unapologetically blunt and unleashed her wrath.

After all, Aaron and Dayton had some rebuilding to do. Fortunately, Dayton was able to express all of her anger upfront, but this particular drama didn't drag out excessively. The board was ultimately wiped clear. A deep breath. A fresh start. A chance at real with no pretense of client/escort, no forced ties with rates and payments!

His fingers ghost along my neck and collarbone and come to a rest above my heart. It beats faster at his touch, and his lips twitch. "I broke your heart, and now you have to let me fix it."

When they were able to find that new starting point, I had a "SQUEEE! Aaand, they're back!" moment! Aaron and Dayton are such kickass, fierce characters, but underneath the bravado and sensuality, they're incredibly endearing. Aaron is demanding and possessive, yet tender in the way he's utterly devoted to this one woman and one woman only. Dayton is a superwoman most of the time (seriously, lingerie is like her superhero mask), but she is human, with fears and insecurities like the rest of us. As a couple, they were just a strong, heady blend.

When the elevator doors close, I lean up and whisper in his ear, "I can play dirty, too."

"I play more than dirty, sweetheart. I play downright filthy." He presses a chaste kiss to my lips. "And if you keep playing dirty, I'm not promising I'll be able to behave for very long."

But, of course, something else had to weasel its way in. This time around, the big secret was Dayton's to keep. It became a ticking bomb for her while she tried to bear the burden alone, a countdown to not only her ruin, but Aaron's.

As the clock runs down, though, we at least get to see Aaron and Dayton in a relationship! Aaron was wholly determined to prove his faith in Dayton and their life together. I would melt every time he catered to her...Pampered. Indulged. Satisfied...Those moments were so heavenly! Even something as simple as using her "Bambi" nickname turned me to mush!

However...it wouldn't be a complete Aaron Stone and Dayton Black love story unless we got downright filthy, too. ;) I loved their push and pull, the sarcastic quips, and slick banter. So. Much. But these two!? These two mastered the art of the fuck-threat, the lust-crazed declarations of I'm going to wreck you in the bedroom.

"Pack this," he orders. "There's a bay window seat in the master bedroom that looks onto the Eiffel Tower."

"What relevance does that have to the red corset?"

He lowers his mouth to my ear, whispering, "It'll add to the view when I bend you over the seat and fuck you."

Their bedroom (...sometimes not the bedroom...*wink*) scenes were electric. A fully-charged blend of raw lust and uninhibited desire with a very real and intimate love. Happily ever after felt like it was right there! I could taste it!

"Every time I kiss you, I taste the rest of my life. I won't stop fighting for you until you taste yours, too."

We also see more of the people closest to Aaron and Dayton in this book, like Aaron's parents and Dayton's Aunt Leigh. We get that sense of them building a future around each other. The one I was most excited to meet, though? Tyler. Stone. I LOVED TY. I adored his sass, his boyish charm, and especially his quick bond with Dayton. (This was not fair, Emma Hart. TWO Stone men in one book?! I could've died...)

"Trust me, if you weren't my cousin's girlfriend, I wouldn't be serving coffee on this table. I'd be serving you me."

Tyler also allowed me to exhale at least a mini-breath of relief because Dayton lets Tyler in on her little secret, and she finally has someone on her side to talk to about it with. He was a much-needed friend and confidant.

"Promise you won't think any less of me."

"My cousin, my best friend, loves you. I thought the world of you before I knew you."

Just when my nerves were starting to fray over it all, waiting for the proverbial shoe to drop, Aaron Stone proved why he is damn near perfect. (I've latched on to this character like a koala.) The truth finally does come out, but instead of another disaster...We see exactly how protective, powerful, and resourceful Aaron Stone is.

He will go to any lengths and spend any amount of money to keep Dayton happy and safe. Money is no object. Power? There is no question. For example...Aaron suggests a particular solution to their problem, and it's very reminiscent of that scene in Inception where Saito bought the airline because it seemed neater...Aaron Stone can be bossy and arrogant at times, but goddamn do you believe every word he says! So when Dayton thought her world was about to unravel...Really...She should have known that Aaron would have never allowed that to happen. ;)

I look at him for a long moment before sitting back. "You really have thought of everything, haven't you, Mr. Stone?"

*keysmash keysmash keysmash...GRINS* In the end, I got the happily ever after that I was pining for! It really was delicious, heartwarming bliss! Emma Hart wrote a stunning conclusion to this powerhouse couple's story, and I loved every word of it!

Oh...and I even loved the epilogue. One word was all I needed: Tyler. ;) Do you ever get that feeling when you take an instant liking to a supporting/secondary character, "Ya know, if [he/she] had their own book, I would totally read it." That's how you know you absolutely love them, and that's exactly what I thought as soon as Tyler Stone entered the picture! So, imagine my pure elation when I got through the epilogue! *sea lion bark-clap* Actual squee-ing may have gone down...Perhaps an enthusiastic fist pump...YES YES YES I want his story! I can not wait for more! This series is a MUST read, and I just know that another wild ride is ahead! :)

This is the continuation of Day and Aaron's story and to be honest it fell flat for me. I loved the first one but I struggled to get through this book. I loved Aaron still but Day just annoyed me like crazy in this book. I also got annoyed with how many times the mention of lingerie was brought up. We get it she has an obsession with pretty panties but we don't need to read about it on every other page. It got a little repetitive. All in all the book was just okay.

I enjoyed this book. I don't know if there were too many racy scenes or not enough. I do like that, unlike some romance novels that I have read, the female protagonist is consistent in her reactions and interaction with the male protagonist.

Second book in the series and I am not sure if I just wasn't connecting with the characters or if I just wasn't in the mood but I struggled to finish this one and skimmed through the second half trying to get to the end. Overall the story was okay but I think that this second book was overkill and the entire story could have been one book. There seemed to be a lot of extra fluff that really did not move the story or the characters along.
