Dearest Kindle,
We have only been together for 5 short months, and yet I feel as though I couldn't imagine my life without you. You've introduced me to a world I never knew existed: a world of daily deals, reduced priced audio books with purchase of the e-book, and now this. THIS BOOK. I love this book and I would never have found it without you, Kindle. Let's you and me be together forever, K??? xoxox
Love, Lisa

p.s. Here's the review ;)

Clearly, I love this book. I feel like I stumbled upon a hi

I am really proud of this one and hope that you love Ellie and Sam's story as much as I do.

Ellie has lost her mom not long ago, but it still dealing with the hurt as if it was yesterday. Ellie copes with it the only way she knows how...by taking off running for hours at a time. The family is hurting but no one wants to talk about it. And slowly it is tearing them apart.

As Ellie ventures out on her own during one of her runs, she comes across a family that seems to think they are living in the days of the Civil War. Not sure if she is having a breakdown from all the stress she is under

What a sweet read!

I wasn't too sure what to expect from this story honestly, but it was just interesting enough to keep my attention and before I knew it, I was hooked the whole way. Partly because I pictured Sam looking like Jason Momoa...lol Really unique story and not sickening sweet, I'm glad I gave it a chance.

Shannon McCrimmon is a wonderfully talented author with which I have had the pleasure and opportunity to review for. I instantly fell in love with her first two books, The Summer I Learned to Dive (my review can be found at: http://endlessdaysofbooks.blogspot.co...) and it's sequel, The Year I Almost Drowned (my review: endlessdaysofbooks.blogspot.com/2013/....) I became very excited upon learning that Shannon McCrimmon had a new book coming out, The Days Lost.

The Days Lost is a novel that is v

First Impression:
I thought the cover was interesting and the premise had my curiosity piqued.

The story:
This is probably one of the most unique stories I've read in a while. I was recently up in the Appalachian mountains, so I felt like I could really visualize the setting, which I think helped to enhance my reading experience.

Ellie Morales is going through some changes in her life. She's just graduated from high school and she's coping with the loss of her mother. Before she heads off

Pros:

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Although I eventually received an ARC copy, I had already bought and read The Days Lost on my own. There was just something about the cover, title, and blurb that grabbed my attention. They are all very unique, don't ya think?

We are taken on an adventure, of sorts, with Ellie, her dog Bosco, and Sam. Ellie had been mourning the loss of her mother, so when she meets a mysterious young man, Sam, she welcomes him and the mystery surrounding him into his life. He

Let me start by saying that I absolutely loved The Days Lost and for so many reasons! But I do have a confession... what drew me to the book in the first place was the author's bio and the fact that she lives in Greenville, SC. No, I do not live in Greenville, but I love it there. It's a silly reason to read a book, I know, but hey... this was so worth it!

Ellie is a regular girl, dealing with the loss of her mother in the few months leading up to her starting college. She is intelligent, stubbor

This is a wonderfully imaginative and fun read. The creative mind of the author is seen in this coming of age story about a girl trying to deal with the loss of her mother who runs into a boy trapped in time in the Civil war era.

As ellie gets to know Sam, he starts to heal her but what's more she begins to live again and learns to love. Sam begins to face his guilt and loss as well all the while learning to love Ellie.

These two get each other. Ellie challenges Sam and he likes it. Sam makes Ell

First off thank you to Shannon McCrimmon for giving me a review copy. I loved Ellie and Sam's story! Ellie is living with her dad and brother after her mother passed away recently. While Ellie is on one of her daily runs she runs into (no pun intended) to Sam and his family. Sam and his family keep talking about the Civil War and they have no idea what the common invention, the iPod, is. Ellie can't believe this family and there ideas. Ellie eventually starts to believe in them because of Sam. W ...more

4.5 rating. I loved how vague the description of the book cover was because I feel like anything more would take away the awesomeness of it. The mystery and discovery of everything was amazing. Kept me curious and wanting to know more. I will say I wish the relationship with Ellie and Sam was explored a little bit more. At times it felt rushed. And actually I guess I just didn't connect with their relationship as I did with some of Ellie's other relationships like between her and her brother. Th ...more

Having read Shannon's other books I could hardly wait to sit down and read this. I was not disappointed. I couldn't put the book down. She sucks you into the story with some really wonderful characters who are learning to live again, but struggling to do so. And the story is a mystery that leaves you wanting to know what the heck happened. Loved it! Such a great read...Good job!

I absolutely loved the story of this book! I started it and couldn't put it down. I wish the romance in it was a little more In depth but I loved the building romance between Sam and Ellie. The ending though...hmm...I wish it was elaborated a little more than it did but it left me satisfied. Maybe a sequel??

Oh this book! So good...Just when I thought I might have it figured out...I didn't! I had to put the book down because I couldn't take the suspense! I pushed thru and finished...so glad I did!!!! Would love to have a "what happened after" novella...great ending but I always want more!

WOW! I loved McCrimmon's first 2 books, but this one takes you to whole different place. The concept for this book is incredible. From the moment I picked it up and into the wee hours of the next morning I didn't want put it down. The mystery surrounding Sam and his family kept me wanting more.

The author does an amazing job at creating characters that are real and that jump to life as you read though the pages. Ellie's subconscious desire to have an emotional relationship soon puts her in a pla
