The Serpent's Fate has all of the elements I love in books: paranormal battles, magic, a great romance, and even a voodoo priestess! I fell in love with the first two books, Fire on the Island and Blood in the Valley, so when J.K. Hogan asked me to read The Serpent's Fate, I couldn't wait to get started. (My reviews contain minor spoilers, but they are a great way to catch up on the mythology of Hogan's world!)

I received this book free through Goodreads First Reads in exchange for my review.

I never felt like I had missed something by not reading the first two books in the series. After having read this book, I plan to go back and read the others.

In this book, there is Matthieu Rousseau, who thinks he an isla

The Serpent’s Fate is a story that deals with a strong plot, and strong characters, and mixes them up in an intriguing, fascinating way. On the one hand, we’ve got Matthieu, who suffers from PTSD and the scars of an abusive childhood. His strength was in never giving up, never backing down. Fate, the other main character, is equally strong. She has a smilar strength as Matthieu, a way of never giving up, no matter wha

I think this is my favorite Vigilati book. It had me hooked pretty fast. I thought the main chatacters were both really interesting and it was nice to see a lot of Isla, too. Definitely recommended for any romance and/or fantasy/paranormal fans!

J.K. Hogan has been telling stories for as long as she can remember, beginning with writing cast lists and storylines for her toys growing up. When she finally decided to put pen to paper, magic happened. She is greatly inspired by all kinds of music and often creates a “soundtrack” for her stories as she writes them. J.K. is hoping to one day have a little something for everyone, so she’s branche ...more
