Hollywood heartthrob, Maxton Waters, has just been named the World’s Sexiest Man Alive. Women fantasize about him. Men want to be him. The paparazzi continuously follow him. His ego is definitely larger than his heart.
Poverty made her grateful.
Whitley Gonzalez has made a life for herself after growing up in and out of homeless shelters. Now a hardworking nurse, she spends her spare time raising her son alone and giving back to the community that helped raise her.
But when Max is sentenced to hours of community services and placed under the single mom’s thumb, working together proves harder than they ever expected, inspiring an unlikely love in the city.
Steph Nuss was born and raised in rural Kansas, where she currently resides with her black Labrador son named Gunner. She grew up with a passion for reading and writing. When she’s not immersed into the land of fiction, she enjoys listening to music that came before her time, watching movies and reruns of her favorite shows, and hanging out with her family and friends. She also has a bachelor’s degree in psychology that she’ll never use…unless she’s profiling her characters of course.
I was lucky enough to get an early copy of Inspired by You and loved it. Max and Whitley's chemistry was immediate and palpable, making it impossible not to fall for them both. Dating the sexiest man alive has its challenges, and Steph Nuss brought reality into their fairy tale and made it feel all the more real. This was my first book in the series but it reads as a complete standalone. Now I'm itching to read the rest of the series!
Steph Nuss is a new to me author and I truly enjoyed Inspired by You. This is the sixth book in her Love in the City series, but the first I read. Each book is a standalone romance with different couples that are interconnected friends. I am very excited to go back and read the entire series!
In Inspired by You, we meet Maxton Waters, an A-list actor who was just named the World’s Sexiest Man alive. You would think he would have everything a man could want. Though Max is very grateful for everything he has achieved, he has not made good decisions recently and now he is paying the price.
Whitley Gonzalez knows what is means to lose everything. But for her son, she was determined to make something of herself and show him the importance of giving back. She is now running a volunteer service for a local hospital and substituting as a nurse when needed. She is grateful for everything she has.
I absolutely loved Max, Whitley and her son Zane. Max was such a good man but was trying to find his way as well. He was so strong and protective. Whitley had dedicated so much of her life to Zane, she lost herself for a while, but when Max shows her she could have both, can she risk her heart? Max and Whitley have great chemistry, but can Whitely learn to live in his world?
Inspired by you was sweet and romantic. There was a bit of angst, but overall the couple wanted each other and really wanted to make it work. I got lost in their story and loved all their friends. I have definitely found a new-to-me author I am excited to read!
I have been a fan of this series since the beginning. Each book has had a very different feel to it but they all have one thing in common, they suck you in.
Inspired by You had a pretty fast pace and felt like a quick read. The characters were likable and I enjoyed the banter. I especially liked the kid. Give me a sexy, protective, possessive man and a single mom and I am a complete goner. But, I have to say, as much as I liked the characters in this book, I didn't connect with them the way I have in the previous stories. Parts felt rushed and there were times when I felt like things were missing. None of that changes how I feel about this author and this series. They have all been great reads that I look forward to.
This was a sweet read with tons of swoon and romance. I enjoyed seeing some of the characters from earlier in the series and I am excited about what (I hope) is to come.
I was lucky enough to get an advanced copy of this book, and it was a great read! The chemistry between Whitley and Max was stellar. Fun banter. This is the 6th in a series but the first I've read, and it was seamless. No need to read the others first!
I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, pain, and heartbreak.
If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first Wanted by You (Love in the City, #1) Fantasized by You (Love in the City, #2) Pleasured by You (Love in the City, #3) Surprised by You (Love in the City, #3.5) Cherished by You (Love in the City, #4) Challenged by You (Love in the City #5)
This is Whitley and Maxton’s story. Maxton is all about himself and it shows in the things he does. Whitley is all about giving back. She knows what it is like to struggle and she believes in giving back to the community that helped raise her. She works hard and takes care of her son. When Maxton is sentenced to hours of community service he thinks he might be able to sweet talk his way out of doing it. Whitley is not about to be sweet talked. She believes in hard work and thinks he should have no problem giving back to the community. Maxton never thought he was going to work but now that he is he is also starting to fall for her. Will she accept him into her life or will she want more for her and her son?
I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.
An unlikely match is about to fall in love in the city and so are you as our favourites are back in the brand new installment in this amazing series by Steph Nuss. Friends. Family. Laughter. Love. Friendship. Steph has created an incredible world that makes me fall in love every single time I come back.
He's a star and the sexiest man alive with an ego to boot that needs to be knocked down a step or two. She's worked and struggled for what she has, coming from humble beginnings. What happens when he's placed with her for his community service? Everything happens. An attraction, connection, experience, journey, and love story that these two never, ever saw coming.
Inspired By You has definitely been an anticipated book of mine since Challenged By You, which I loved loved loved. But now Whitley and Max are on the scene, setting up such a redemptive, swoony, undeniable, inspiring love story that will have you glued to the pages, your heart in your throat at times, and rooting for the bad boy to win at love and life.
If you like your books a little easier, sweeter, lighter yet deep in every way that counts then I'd definitely give Steph a try.
I love this series! I have read every single book and feel so connected to these characters. You can read this book as a standalone but I highly recommend you read them in order so that you don't get spoilers from the previous books. Also because they're all really amazing.
Inspired by You is the story of Max and Whitley. We've previously met both these characters and I loved Whitley. I'll admit I wasn't a huge fan of Max so I wasn't so sure how I'd like this book. I had this preconceived notion about him and it wasn't a good one. Whitley though, I've always loved her. She is a single mom who's had a rough life and I really wanted to know her back story.
Maxton Waters is the Sexiest Man Alive. No really, he was voted the Sexiest Man Alive. He's also a hot shot A-list actor who gets knocked down a few pegs when he is sentenced to community service after a run in with the law. He needs to fix his image and he's determined to make the public see the real him. Max surprised me. He was nothing at all like I expected. He was sweet, sincere, and lived up to his Sexiest Man Alive title. No one can top Maverick but Max almost did. That's a tall feat to do.
Whitley Gonzalez has had a rough life. She doesn't let that stop her from always looking on the bright side and helping others. She is truly one of the most selfless characters I've ever read. Whitley works at the local hospital as the volunteer coordinator. She's also a single mom to the cutest kid ever, Zane. Zane almost stole the show. He's such a great kid and he's hilarious. I laughed so many times when he was involved. Whitley is not happy when Max Waters is assigned to do his community service at her hospital. The last thing she needs is a circus surrounding her. Whitley is adamant that she is not going to fall for Max's charm. Max is adamant he's going to get Whitley to see the real him, not the one she think's she knows.
I loved the back and forth with Max and Whitley. The sexual tension between them was off the charts. Their chemistry is smoking hot. Throw in a cute kid and the rest of the Love in the City gang and you've got yourself a fantastic read. Steph Nuss' writing style sucks you in and hold on tight until the very last page. She's great at expressing emotion and you feel everything these characters feel. This series is a must read!
I tend to read a lot of books that are in the middle of a series, but somehow I managed to read the last book in the series. Normally, this would very much upset me, but I have to say, the author did a great job of filling us in on who the other characters were.
Inspired by You is the story of Whitley Gonzalez, single mom to 8-year old Zane. She works as the volunteer coordinator at a hospital, and is quite surprised to hear that Max Waters, the Sexiest Man Alive and star of Marvel movies, is volunteering at her hospital as part of community service. Whitley has buried herself in her work and being a mom, and often forgets she is a young woman as well.
Max tries to live under the radar, but as a star in the Marvel universe, the paparazzi follows him around quite frequently. He is happy to do his community service, and is pleasantly surprised by Whitley, who instantly stereotypes him and doesn't give him a chance to show who he really is.
As it turns out, Max is an incredible guy. Max and Whitley have similar backgrounds, but Whitley has decided to be as charitable as she can. She and Zane work at a homeless shelter together once per week.
Once Whitley finally agrees to give Max a chance, she is incredibly surprised to realize what a sweet and caring guy he is. He is very loyal to his friends, and he is very kind of his fans. Zane is a big fan of Max and the character he plays in the MCU. He and Zane instantly connect over their love of comic books and baseball.
Zane was a very cute kid, and very much a tell it like it is kind of kid. My son is very much like this, so I was able to relate to him quickly. I really liked Whitley - she always put others in front of herself.
Max, despite being a big star, was really a great guy who went out of his way to protect those he loved and cared about. The side characters, who made up the first five books of the series, were all very likable as well.
This is a 5 star read and I would highly recommend it.
Steph Nuss is a new author to me, and I find her writing style very talented as it drew me in from the beginning, and I found I didn't want to put Inspired by You down until I finished every page. Maxton Waters is the Sexiest Man Alive, and hit the pinnacle of his acting career, but it's made him a tad bit selfish in his fame. When he gets into trouble, he's ordered some community service hours, and he's gotten himself a new publicist, to put his life back on track. And this is when he meets single mother, Whitley Gonzalez, who knows what it's like to have nothing, who loves to give back. However, she's not giving him an inch, and he wants to get to know her. Who's going to win that battle? This was an interesting story, as Whitley was the stubborn person that I wanted to shake, and that's rare for me. See, I usually always have the heroine's back, but this time, she was a bit much at times. Thankfully, there was a cast of secondaries that made sure to talk her down for a couple of things that I thought she overreacted to, because I wanted her to have the world. And Max wasn't a man whore, so he was awesome in my book pretty quickly. Their chemistry was intense, angst to make eyes leak at times, hilarious moments that had me rolling, and a couple of twists you wouldn't guess to add a refreshing touch. This was a great story, and I hope that I get glimpses of this couple in future books! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!
Inspired by You is the sixth installment in the Love in the City series and is between heartthrob Max Waters and nurse/administrator Whitley Gonzalez.
Max has just been named the sexiest man alive, but some bad choices brought him to Whitley's hospital for some community service. Max is a down to earth guy, he hasn't let his fame and fortune change who he is down to his core. Whitley grew up in the foster care system and fought tooth and nail to achieve everything that she holds dear today, she also has an adorable 8 year old son who is her pride and joy.
Max and Whitney meet and the physical attraction is there, he pursue her but she's afraid to get involved with a man at this point in her life, especially someone with such a high profile. For me the first part of their relationship needed a little more chemistry, more sparks, I felt like it was rushed a bit. It wasn't until the second half of the book that I started feeling that they were compatible and that there was something powerful between them. Once that awkward first stage passed, the story took a new level of intimacy between these two. My heart was completely stolen by Whitley's son, he was such a sweet boy, well loved by his mom and those around her. I love that the author always gives us an insight of what's going on with characters from previous books.
The story is somewhat of a fairy tale, is well written, like all of other books by this author. An enjoyable read and a great addition to this series.
Dear Maverick Jones, I've been very loyal to you. It all started in Fantasized by You, where we first met. I had a thing for Carter Jennings in Wanted by You, but then Steph Nuss introduced me to you and I never looked back. Since then, I've had some crushes: Fletcher Haney in Pleasured by You; Justin Jameson in Cherished by You; and you almost lost me to Drake Wilkins in Challenged by You. I've held on tight, my love. Until now. I'm sorry, Maverick. Our time has ended. I have a new love: America's sexiest man alive, Maxton Waters. I'll look back on you fondly.
I think one of my favorite things about Steph's writing is the way she pulls me so far in that I feel like I'm sitting with her characters. I'm just hanging out on the couch with Max and Whitley as they watch Zane fall asleep, or sitting at a table with all the friends like I'm one of them. It's real. It's beautifully written. It makes me laugh, cry, swoon, and repeat. Steph pours her soul into these characters, and she doesn't hold back in Whitley's tragic background, kind heart, and mama bear love. The same can be said for Max as we get to see his character's immense growth from his debut as Maverick's competition in Fantasized by You. He definitely redeems himself this time around.
If you haven't met Steph's Love in the City crew yet, I suggest you do!
I adore Steph Nuss' writing style, and the characters that she has developed for the Love in the City series. She has an uncanny ability to draw you into her books so that you feel like you are a part of this group of friends world.
Inspired By You, is a fast paced story told from the dual point of view of Max and Whitley. Whilst this title can be read as a standalone, it's the sixth title in the Love in the City series, a set of interconnected standalones with repeating characters. I adore the characters that feature in this series, and I was glad that they featured so frequently throughout Max and Whitley's story.
Max and Whitley's story is a sweet, sexy and lighthearted read, with fun, flirty and at times argumentative banter that captivated me.
Both characters are completely endearing, and for me being a mother, I could totally relate to Whitley's protective instincts. Whitley is independent, resilient, strong, compassionate and giving. She's a single mother to Zane.
Max is charming and confident, yet also down to earth, kind and caring. He's an actor, named world's sexiest man alive. After making some questionable choices, his behaviour lands him in Whitley's path.
Zane is sweet, funny and downright adorable, and will steal your heart.
Another wonderful addition to this series, and I look forward to the next title in the series.
This is my first book by this author and I have to say I liked her writing style. I loved how all the characters interacted and how they were this family of friends. Max and Whitley were both super cute characters that you can’t help but be drawn to. From the start I had a feeling that max was going to be this cocky guy but he really did have a huge heart.
The story was pretty fast paced but vague in some areas. I found it disappointed me with the lack of major plot points in the story. Like his acting. He was this famous got, and they talked about him movie and it was a big issue that was dealt with in the book, but it wasn’t shown. If a guy is going to be famous in a book, I want to see that in action.
Another thing that bugged me how rare we saw him in the volunteer role. Things were so fast paced that we pretty much missed it all, but the few times we saw it, I loved seeing that side of Max. It was a lot of community service to get done and it was glossed over. While made it very hard to keep up with a time line. The book also jumped weeks at a time at times.
Even with all my issues with this story, I still really liked it. I plan to go back and read the other books and see how they came together. I do how that Cash gets a book really soon. 3.5 stars #2OCCJD
Reviewed on behalf of 3 Degrees of Fiction Blog This book can be read as a standalone, even though other couples had their stories told in earlier published books in this series. You might want to take a look at their books, but this one will work completely without them, so just start reading. It was an easy read with a clear plot without any side plots. The idea is well-known: Famous actor meets “shy” girl and they fall in love, but this author managed to give the whole scenario a new twists which made the story interesting for me and I enjoyed reading the book. The writing style was easy to read and supported the plot and the characters. The book had a dual POV and it was easy to see which character was “talking” since their voices were so different. Both characters went through a big development and came out the better person in the end. Both fought their fears and the obstacles thrown in their way in a way that made me like them even more. I found both of them rather believable and “real”, so I could understand their actions and fears, which made another positive point on my list. All in all it was a quick and easy read I enjoyed and will recommend further if someone needs something light without a lot of angst.

I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.
Hot Hollywood actor plus single mom with an adorable son equals super sweet swoon worthy romance in this deliciously addictive read! Inspired by you hits you right in the feels. I loved everything about it! From characters that are flat out wonderful to flawless writing that has you quickly swept up in the story. If you’re looking for something that gives you pure heartfelt sweetness with the perfect amount of heat, look no further!
Max is a good man who’s made bad choices. Right from the beginning he’s already taking steps to change himself for the better making it easy to like him. Whitley is a single mom to an incredible little boy. Devoted to not only her son, but helping those in need she’s a kind woman with a heart of gold. When these two first meet there’s instant sparks, but Whitley has Max as the arrogant movie star in her head.
As they spend more time together she quickly begins to see the real Max, a sweet, sexy, and generous man. Their relationship was equal parts so sweet it hurts and perfectly steamy. Surrounded by friends and family who are just as amazing every page is wonderful!
This is my first read from this author and a mighty fine read it has been. Even though this is the 6th in the Love In the City series of interconnected stand-alones, my experience was unimpeded which is always a treasure. I definitely have a new series to catch up on. Goals!
Inspired by You is Max and Whitley’s. A story of bad decisions colliding with loss makes your heart hurt a bit but you can’t help yourself smiling along the journey. I loved that Max’s wake up call came at the right time for Whitley to make a change in her life: start living again. The dynamic between Max, Whitley, and Zane can only be described as: awwwww. Zane’s sweet character was simply refreshing. As the relationship between Max and Zane grew, man did I fall for Max.
This story has everything you could ask for in a romantic love story: a little angst and a whole lot of loving tenderness. I’m looking forward to catching up with the rest of this series. I’m also looking for more great reads from this author.
Max and Whitley have an auspicious start when Max must do community service under Whitley’s direction for an accident he caused. Whitley has no time for a man she feels must be entitled since he was voted the Sexiest Man Alive after his last superhero movie. However, her son, Zane, feels very differently and Max wants to prove to Whitley he’s a real person put in an impossible situation. With all of their friends behind them, Max and Whitley grow as a couple and a family. I absolutely loved revisiting with the gang of friends and finding out what is going on in their lives! I don’t want to give anything away so I’ll stop here, but you don’t want to miss this book! I can’t wait for the next one!
Steph Nuss has brought me back into the Love and City world and never disappoints. The characters in this series become your friends and the time invested in them while reading is well worth it. In this story about Max and Whitley we get a lesson about love and fear and how to deal with being with a protective single mom. Max Voted Sexiest Man Alive and a Hollywood heartthrob learns a few things too and Whitley is there to teach him. Watching the two of them connect and fall in love was beautiful. Not only does Max fall for Whitley but with Whitley comes her son who Max loves just as much. Will love win in the end or will the pressure of being involved with a Hollywood Heartthrob ruin any chances of happiness? I Loved this story and I think you will too!
Having not read Steph Nuss before, I was pleasantly surprised! I was immediately sucked into the story from the get go. And without having read the previous 5 books in the series, I still wasn't missing out on anything. I definitely want to go back and read all the couples stories now though!
Max is like anyone I've ever read before. Yes he's a Hollywood heartthrob but you would never know it by how he acts. He's one of the most humble characters I've read and I LOVED that!! He wasn't a manwhore, just was doing his own thing. And his character is so dang hot!! He's just so sweet and earnest and hot you can't help but love him!
Definitely a new author (to me) that I will be keeping up with!!
Beautiful! I've volunteered to review this book for United Indie Book Blog. This is first time reading one of Steph Nuss books. This the sixth book in the Love in the City series. This story is about Max and Whitley. This is a adorable story of finding love when you least expect it. Max is serving his community service sentence when he meets the director Whitley. Inspired by you hits you right where you will feel it. You will be quickly swept up in the story. I will be definitely going back to read the other five books in this series. I can not wait to read more from you. Keep up the awesome work!
Max and Whitley are two strong characters with so much passion for everything and everyone they love. As you read this story you will fall in love with each character as much as I do.
There has been six Love in the City books as and every single one is better than the last. Inspired by You had this sence of love and respect it feel so real is remarkable.
Each book can be read as a standalone, however if you would love to meet and love the rest of the gang, then you should read the rest of the series.
I recommend this book and series, you will not be disappointed.
I volunteerly review an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

This was a great read!!! I enjoyed catching up with previous characters, and getting to know Whitley and Max.
These two are awesome together. Whitley starts off a bit guarded and harsh, but she soon discovers that maybe the rumors about Max aren’t true, and he’s not the typical Hollywood hottie. Max is awesome. Even though he was ordered to do some things, he did it with his whole heart and learned so much from being in those situations. I loved how he immediately took to Zane, and treated him as an equal.
This was a fantastic addition to the Love In The City series and I would definitely recommend it!
Inspired By You is the first book I've read by Steph Nuss, and I enjoyed it. Movie star/Sexiest Man Alive, Maxton Waters has been ordered by the court to serve 300 hours of community service. He has been assigned to visiting people at Langone Hospital. That's where he meets and gets to know Whitley Gonzalez. She is their Director of Volunteer Services as well as the single mother of an eight year old son--Zane. Max discovers that he enjoys spending time with Whitley and Zane doing every day activities. Unfortunately the three of them will need how to safely navigate the world of paparazzi. This book is the sixth book of the Love in the City but read well as a standalone.
