I really love the artwork for this manga, it's just so adorable. Which is probably why I chose to read it; I tend to lean towards pretty mangas when choosing which ones to read (shameful I know!) The storyline is slightly confusing, particularly her father's involvement, the purpose of the choker and what exactly her punishment is but it doesn't deter from the reading experience and I'm hoping it will be elaborated on in the next volume which I will be starting shortly. There are very funny bits

So this is actually a reread for me and it is SHOCKING how much I disliked this compared to the first time I read it. Bare in mind the first time I read it was four or five years ago and I was just getting into shoujo romance, so my experience pool was shallow. At this point this series really doesn't compare to other shoujo romance, reverse harems or otherwise. I can't say that it's bad, but the story is uninteresting, the characters are fine but not really engaging, and the artwork/art style i

This is easily going to be a new addiction for me! My attention was stolen from the first page and I'm anxiously trying to get my hands on the next installment. Also, maybe I read too much reverse harem because I want her to be with all of them. Especially the black rose!

Partly from my Amazon review, bought at Rightstuf:
WOW! I was blown away. Anise just can't remove this annoying choker that is the cause of the school administrator chasing her every morning because it violates the dress code. We are quickly shown 4 hot guys at her school, that later become her Rose Knights. When a bat-like creature swoops down from the sky and hits her, her choker falls off and is nowhere to be found. With her father suddenly coming home, what is going to happen to her since she ...more

This was one book I was seriously disappointed in. I love all things fantasy and romance, and love shoujo manga. It seemed like a book I'd love. It has all of those in it, and a great cover to boot. The synopsis made it sound like something I'd love, and would probably be the next series I collect.
Well, I'm not. And I don't love it. I barely even liked it.

I don't usually read harem manga but glad I decided to stick with this one. Pretty artwork and four hot guys? What's not to like?

This was a cute, romantic urban fantasy manga! It centered around Anise Yamamoto who loses her rose choker one day only to find out she's the rose princess. That same day she learns she can summon four knights by the kiss of a card. I liked the stories in each chapter, but it felt like some of the characters were a bit flat and overall plots for each chapter were a bit silly. Anise had a tendency to send the knights on frivolous or personal errands, but I guess it is meant to be more yo ...more

I traded for physical copies of the first 2 volumes of this a few weeks ago. (This just reminds me how far I am on review eBooks! Having tablet troubles the last few months, so yeah.)

Despite being cliché to the extreme, I still like it the same way I liked Shugo Chara! I don't know; I suppose that beneath all my attitude and sullenness, I have a girly side that's attracted to romance, bishies, and power to dominate bishies? Wait. Power to dominate people, even though it's bishies, doesn't seem very girly...

Fun, beautifully drawn and easy going.
That's what I think of this.
When I first met Anis Yamamoto I thought she was dull and boring, but as soon as the introduction was over she grew. Now I like her quite a bit.
Even if the beginning was kind of cliché I like how the story turned out with the Knights. They've all have their different personalities and you can still love all of them.
What's going on with her father on the other hand, that I'd like to know.

This was strangely compelling????
The characters all are pretty dorky and I’ve seen nearly all of them before but the story was kind of good.
The art style was very.... dark. Literally. I think everything is just too packed into one page. It makes it hard to read.
It’s pretty funny at times. Sometimes without meaning to be. Kaede is probably my favorite character.

This series looks really promising so far and has a lot of great characters that I look forward to getting to know better. I especially enjoyed reading about Kaede & Anise and hope to see a lot more between them in the future. I can't wait to see what happens next!

I'm so torn by this book! Yes,the art and story are lame, and not very great, but it has that addicting quality that is usually found in this type of book. Did I enjoy it? Maybe. Am I ashamed of that? Definitely.

Kiss of the Rose Princess is about a girl named Anise. Her father (not sure if abusive or just scary) gave her a choker and told her to always wear it for protection. But then she has an accident and the choker comes off. When that happens, she learns that she is the Rose Princess, and that she can kiss cards to summon and command four Rose Knights. The humor on this one just didn't do much for me with this one. It's silly, and I think if the jokes landed better for me, I would've liked it more.

I have never been so baffled before by a manga😂 This was so fast-paced and you were just thrown into it alongside our main character Anise. I literally picked this up because it was a newly added manga to my library and I thought, "oh, I need to read it since it's new."
This is an urban fantasy shoujo with a Victorian flair. I loved each of our knights, except for the white rose. As it was stated numerous times, he is a freak. This manga is so self-aware and I loved it. The art was gorgeous and ...more

I picked this one up (like most of my other manga) through MangaFox.
I have to admit that I wasn't expecting much from this series. It seemed cute, but it also looked like it'd be one of those mangas that have a great idea but drag it out with overly repetitive themes. (Lather, rinse, repeat for 10-20 volumes or until it gets forcibly ended.) While there's still the potential for this series to become overly dragged out, this first volume was really fun to read.

Lucky girl this Anis, she is surrounded by 4 bishounen. As expected, all with different looks (even different hair color) and personalities.
Tenjoh (White Rose) is kind like Tamaki from OHSHC: popular, rich, silly and very egocentric. Then we have Kaede (Red Rose) who is the closer in terms of friendship with Anis: both of them quarreled all the time but it is he whom she trusts the most. The 3rd one is Asagi (Blue Rose) who looks like a girl and is the most sensitive and cute. And last, Mutsuki ...more

Recommends it for:
Fellow humans in search for a harem of sexy-looking anime guys.
Alright, guys, sorry I left a long gap between the date I finished this book and the date I'm typing the review. (I've been typing a BUNCH of to-review books today and....I'm feeling a little woozy.)
So this review might be quick.

This story is a shoujo reverse-harem story and I absolutely adore it. Perfect heroines who forgive everyone, never get upset, and always exude peace, love, and a lack of intelligence irritate me. Anis is sassy and has multiple moments of blatant selfishness, such as wondering how she can use the four rhode knights for her own personal gain, but is still a lovely person in the end, wanting to protect her new friends.

I simply adore the artwork in Aya Shouoto's "Barajou no Kiss, Vol. 01"! One girl + four cute guys = What's not to love. I can be so childish... The story is cute and original, not a 'cookie-cutter type' and kept my interest from page one, though if the story hadn't, the artwork would have. Very funny!

The Rose Princess is a simple high school girl who is somehow of royal blood. Her father instructed her that she is to not remove her rose collar necklace but one day it just up and vanishes. The same moment it vanishes she is titled the sovereign of the rose knights who just so happen to be the most popular guys in school. How fun for Dear Anise.

This was a very cute 9 book manga series. Lots of fun and I really enjoyed the artwork. The plot was a bit weak in places, but I was smiling the whole time. A fun way to take some typical manga plots and elements and mash them up and turn them upside down. It was a great quick read!
