This is such a sweet story. I enjoyed reading it so much. It also hit a little close to home on a few issues.

Lauren is an amazing woman/character. The author did a great job of making her so lovable and so beautiful. Paul, Lauren's husband is a jerk...I mean jerk of all jerks. I think the author did a great job of making him a jerk :). That sounds funny, but there always has to be someone you don't like right? I think so. Well Paul was my DO NOT LIKE in this book. He brought the meaning of "jer

Imperfect Love was an emotional roller coaster ride that really makes a person think about what they would do if they were in Lauren's shoes. There were parts of the story that I loved and parts of the story that I wanted to scream and throw my Kindle.

Lauren and Paul have been married for 5 years and over the last year have started to grow apart. Lauren thinks that if she could just get pregnant then things will go back to being normal and life will be great. Little does she know that

I love a tender, clean story packed with emotion. Lauren is in a marriage where she give 110% and he give 5%. Her marriage crumbles when she finds out some devastating news about her pregnancy. A good portion of the story is seeing Lauren rebuild her life, learn to trust again, and to move forward. Even though I haven't been in a situation like Lauren's, I could relate to her. I understand why she wants to rely on herself and learn to stand on her own two feet. I understand why she feels she has ...more

I love this story! Of course, I'm the author so that may be biased :).

I must not have been in the mood for this story. I think sometimes you can read a great book and not be in the mood for it and it kills the story, or read a not so great book, but because you were in the right mood it made it ten times better. For me I was expecting this story to go somewhere else, and when it didn't go there I was disappointed. I was expecting this story to be about a marriage that was rocky and going through hard times, and then gets better because it's imperfect love. I don't ...more

This book starts out with such happy news. Lauren and her husband are expecting their first child! As Lauren starts to figure out ways to tell him, it becomes obvious that her husband, Paul, might not be as excited as she is. He's a workaholic and their schedules don't match up. He acts happy when she finally does tell him, though. Then, they get the news that their baby has a birth defect and Paul doesn't take the news very well. He makes her choose between him and the baby so she leaves him an ...more

I received this free e-book from Amazon and I am voluntarily writing a review. This is about Lauren who has been trying to get pregnant for the last two years and finally finds out she is going to have a baby and her dream family. This is where life now slaps her in the face and Lauren realizes her perfect marriage has not been for the last couple of years and she has spent more time alone than with her husband. Lauren and Paul find out that their unborn baby boy has Down's Syndrome and Paul has ...more

You might think from the title that this is just another silly love story, but it's SO much more than that when the main character finds out that her baby might have some issues and her husband is dismissive of the entire pregnancy and not supportive. You can tell from the start of the book that he's just not a great guy for her. Parts of this book are super difficult to read and even harder to imagine, but this book really fits into a sliver of space that needs to be told over and over again un ...more

A powerful story of a woman facing life altering challenges and discovering more than one kind of love along the way. A well developed character and a well crafted story.

"Courage isn't the absence of fear, it's being afraid, but going forward anyway."

When Lauren Wilson found out her baby had Down Syndrome, her entire life changed. Her husband gave her an ultimatum--him or the baby. Lauren was divorced and carrying an imperfect baby and she had accepted that it was the way it would always be. Who would want her and a special needs child? Then entered Ethan Campbell, a childhood friend of her brother's that Lauren had a crush on for years. Ethan was a photographer

This is a difficult book to read. So many emotions here; anger, sorrow, guilt, sadness, forgiveness, and hope.

We have Lauren who after trying for 2 years finally gets pregnant. She is ecstatic to say the least and she wants to share the news with her husband, Paul, first. She almost spills the beans to others before she could tell Paul because she was just so happy. She makes a plan of how she is going to surprise her husband with the news. Paul is a lawyer in his dad’s firm and has been working

Imperfect Love is an exhilarating roller-coaster of real, heart wrenching emotion! From beginning to end, this story held me captive with its compelling, real life struggles that tugged at my heart. I couldn’t look away for fear that I would miss any detail of the fulfillment of this beautiful life wish that been granted in a most unexpected way. This is a story that will touch a deep chord with anyone who dares read it.

Lauren Wilson is confident that her life is headed in the right direction. S

Sigh...this was such a sweet story. It had my heart melting and aching a few times. Imperfect Love was very compelling and thought-provoking. It was not absolutely perfect but it was a very beautiful story.

The story was easy to read and fast-paced, but the story was still powerful. The main character, Lauren, struggled to get pregnant and when she finally did, her life shattered. The first half of the book concentrated the end of Lauren's marriage. It was very sad and angering to read how the ev

This author has the craft of writing firmly under her belt, her imagery is evocative and her word flow fluid. This book has all the trappings of greatness about it-- Firstly, there is the cunningly clever parallel between Hitler and his determination to cleanse the world of any human beings he considered imperfect, and the dilemma that main protagonists face in connection with the imperfection that raises itself in their lives-- to say more would be to put this review firmly in the nether land of ...more

Review: I really liked the emotion in this book, and the way the main character, Lauren, had some impossible choices. It upped the tension and made the conflict more realistic. Ethan is a great hero and there's a good contrast between him and Lauren's ex-husband. Everything, from the cover to the description points that this is a romance, but I think it would be better categorized as women fiction, since

Imperfect love is a good clean drama dealing with real problems. It is easy to say I would make this choice when we are not in that situation. It draws out emotions. I wish that the ending could be different but I think it was right one.

Lauren Wilson is a strong character. She is facing some tough choices and chooses what she feels is right for her.
Lauren has been hoping to have a baby for a long time and now it looks like her dream is coming true. Lauren teaches middle school.

Love is never perfect. This book takes on a deeper meaning of love that is not perfect. It deals with issues that no one wants to happen to them. But they are faced with courage and love.

Lauren is excited that after two years of trying to have a baby, she is finally pregnant. Unfortunately, her baby is not perfect. Dealing with the pain of awaiting a special needs child, her husband leaves her. He does so because he is unwilling to parent a special needs child. She is forced to make a decision,

Imperfect Love is a heart wrenching story. The first half of the book focuses on a relationship that is struggling and crumbling. I really felt for Lauren and disliked Paul immensely. I wondered if he was being unfaithful, and came to realize that being unfaithful doesn't need to intimately involve a person outside the relationship. He was unfaithful by putting his work and parents over Lauren.

I can only imagine the struggle that people have when they get the news that their baby has a severe di

Imperfect Love really grabs the reader's emotions and I was completely attuned to how Lauren felt in her relationship with her husband. Then when she finds out the news about her pregnancy, Talley does a wonderful job of capturing every emotion that Lauren goes through. When she finds out that the baby may have problems, I wanted to cry with her. Talley really packs strong emotions and feelings into this book! I could feel the pain, the heartache, and the indecision that Lauren was feeling. I co ...more

This was a very nice, easy reading, pleasant story. There wasn't anything earth shaking, there really wasn't any suspense, and it was kind of predictable - but STILL a very enjoyable read. This book is kind of like a walk in the park - no roller-coasters, no scary monsters, no tears, just a nice clean story.

The one thing that stuck out to me was - there was excellent character development right away. It didn't take you half the book to feel the characters, I felt them in the first chapter. And..

Rebecca is an author who knows how to write a heartfelt story and Imperfect Love follows suit. This story is full of raw and honest emotions that jump from one end of the spectrum to the other. Main character Lauren has so many hopes and dreams. When the thing she hoped for the most turns out differently than she imagined, my heart ached for her. I could easily relate to that feeling of being faced with what seems like a hopeless situation. Lauren's character grows as she has to become independ ...more

My High Five:

1. The Cover--because, yes, I'm one of those. I am certainly drawn in by a great cover, and this one is gorgeous. I love the colors and fonts!

2. I love that Rebecca Talley is not afraid to try out some of the weightier topics. She deals with some real issues without making the book too heavy. It was still a great escape for me and made me think. A perfect combination.

3. The whole Holocaust connection. 'Nough said, because I'm not going to spoil anyone's reading.

4. The conversations

Really I would rate this book 2 and 1/2 stars. The first half of this book was boring! The author could have accomplished the events and feelings in a 10th of the pages. Then she would have had plenty of time to fix the last half of the book which in my opinion is where she should of focused the story. As it is I could have done without all of the holocaust and Hitler stuff. And the stuff about the girl that was adopted. I think these two things where brought into the story to help the reader un ...more

This was such a cute story. I loved Lauren, she is the character that has her whole life as together as it can be. She's ready to live her happily ever after with Paul and their new little one. The selfish Paul, I'd love to be able to throw something hard and pointy at him. Ethan is a real sweetheart though! I enjoyed the plot of this book, Lauren had some hard choices to make to get her where she was going and to move the plot along, and I liked the places that those choices took her. You won't ...more

This was a good heartfelt story of love. Mostly the unconditional love of a mother. I wouldn't really call this book a romance as it felt more like a woman's journey through some difficult situations and how she dealt with them. The focus was more about the story of overcoming, adapting and learning versus romance. I did like it though. It had some good emotion that I as a mother could relate to. And it was clean. Always a nice bonus for me.
