Vanished: A Psychic Touch Mystery
Twelve years ago fifteen people disappeared without a trace. Two private eyes and one psychic are determined to find out where and why.
With no new leads or evidence, the case has landed in the cold case files but one family won’t accept that. Luke Holmestead and Dom Masters are hired in a desperate attempt to find closure, but when they hit the same roadblocks the authorities did, Luke takes a desperate step of his own outside the lines of accepted investigation techniques.
Shane Cayli is not your typical crime solver. In fact, he’s not an investigator at all. He’s a psychic. Touching people or objects results in experiencing whatever memory is floating on the surface. And it is rarely pleasant. It can be unnerving, terrifying, and, at times, life-threatening. Upon Luke’s persistent begging and the mystery being laid out for him, Shane reluctantly agrees to help… and instantly regrets the decision.
Not only is Dom Masters difficult to deal with, but Shane is overwhelmed by what is being asked of him. Painful memories, aggressive ghosts, and an abandoned hotel that doesn’t give up its secrets easily, turn out to be the least of Shane’s worries. Someone out there doesn’t want the missing people found and they’re willing to kill to keep the bodies hidden.

"Vanished" received THREE AND A HALF stars.
A very good story! I loved the plot and the characters, and 🤞🏻hope there are more “A Psychic Touch Mystery” novels coming soon.
My only issue is that this book seems like it’s the second in a series, or that I missed an introductory novella. The backstory between Shane and Luke is very detailed and mentioned quite frequently. Is there an a first book that tells about Shane and Luke meeting? If so, I can find no mention of it on the front or back pages of this book, on Goodreads, or the author’s website. Every time Shane talked about his ex I had to stop reading and search some more for this possible missed novel. Frustrating!

1/2 * gained for: "There were no info dumps, poor writing, or copy edit mistakes that jerked me out of the story." The writing was great! Maybe too great, because Shane and Luke’s backstory was extremely detailed and left me wanting more to the point of distraction.
* gained for: "I was sad when the book ended. I wanted more!"
