Rate this book
Sofie Carter has fled her painful past, leaving behind an abusive family. In the quaint seaside village of Pacifica Bay, Washington, she finds solace—a new apartment, a fresh start, and the promise of the life she’s always dreamed of. But fate intervenes when she has an unexpected ‘meet cute’ with Jessie, the town hermit—an enigmatic man who lives in the shadow of his own painful past. As Sofie grapples with newfound desires, her family’s unwelcome intrusion threatens to unravel everything she’s built.

Jessie Holden, a man who has always kept his distance, discovers a reason to break free from solitude. The arrival of the town’s beautiful barista ignites a spark within him—one he never knew existed. Smitten beyond measure, he refuses to envision a future without her. Yet, as their connection deepens, external forces conspire against them. Sofie’s family looms, threatening their fragile bond. Can Jessie protect her, or will their love be swept away like the tide?

In this spicy romance, where passion collides with vulnerability, Jessie falls first and falls harder. His determination to keep Sofie by his side defies all odds, even when the waves of adversity crash against their love.

This book was a cute quick read, something nice in between series.

Story line was cute, side and main characters were cute but the story itself felt a little rushed. Loved the ending though. Who can be upset with a happy ending where the FMC gets the MMC and they start a family 🫶

Not as spicy as I would’ve liked, but still ridiculously cute.

.5 🌶️/5

MMC was ridiculously adorable and having the FMC reference Oblivion was a huge selling point.

The hospital situation was weird. Like she’s his wife but they won’t let her in the room or tell her anything? It didn’t make a lot of sense.

nice read

This novel was fast paced and enjoyable.

Male lead is desperate, dorky, and depraved for female lead. My favorite type of male lead, if I’m being honest.
Female lead is adorable and strong.

Great read if you want to giggle and just read✨
