John Birmingham grew up in Ipswich, Queensland and was educated at St Edmunds Christian Brother's College in Ipswich and the University of Queensland in Brisbane. His only stint of full time employment was as a researcher at the Defence Department. After this he returned to Queensland to study law but he did not complete his legal studies, choosing instead to pursue a career as a writer. He currently lives in Brisbane.
While a law student he was one of the last people arrested under the state's Anti Street March legislation. Birmingham was convicted of displaying a sheet of paper with the words 'Free Speech' written on it in very small type. The local newspaper carried a photograph of him being frogmarched off to a waiting police paddy wagon.
Birmingham has a degree in international relations.
Yeh, was ok however 3 stars in part because I compare to author's world scale trilogies such as the Wave, axis of time, Dave, zero day and his current space opera although am yet to read second book in space opera trilogy.
Give them a go if not already read them.
Girl in time series not as much world scale however good story and the cowboy character was great.
Sleeper Agent just felt a bit contrived and the Kristen character I found annoying. I could take only so much of "y'all, sugar, honey, Mikey" and so on.
Also titled as Sleeper Agent: Vengeance on audible. This is the second story in Birmingham's sleeper agent series. The protagonist goes into his past trying to piece together who he is and where he came from. He happens upon high level players and organization. There is room for the story to continue.
I loved this series. It was exciting and kept me wondering what was next. I was never a fan of Kristen and hope it’s not the end of Mary’s story. I hope Cooper’s story is not over.
