A conspirator unmasked. A fight for power. A deadly betrayal. Ten months after their lives changed, the Stallion brothers have earned front-row seats to history. Their winding, improbable journeys collide as momentous events threaten to shape the foundations of the Collectorate.
New Gov. Trevor Stallion adapts to life as an administrator and politician, beset by competing interests and the need to please various factions. Through it all, he questions the circumstances that brought him to the highest office on Amity Station.
Lt. Connor Stallion, now fully immersed in Requiem's dangerous plans, prepares to return home and fulfill his role in Code Exodus - a project that could change the course of history. But as his loyalty to his brother clashes with his duty to his cause, Connor must make a decision that could tear their family apart.
Meanwhile, Thomas Quinlan plots his ultimate revenge against the Stallion brothers, while the mastermind behind their turmoil steps into the light.
In this tense, penultimate chapter of the Farewell Amity Station series, revelation will bring clarity, fear, and heartbreak.
This series continues to surprise me. The story twists and turns and drops the occasional Easter egg and hint as to what is coming but perhaps that’s more in hindsight having read the book. It certainly heightens the expectation for the next book.
There is still tension between Trevor and Thomas.
Ana has a birthday party that is more like a social event for the adults networking. I like how we see Trevor as a family man and not just the station governor, it adds another dimension to his character.
Connor continues to advance his military carreer.
I feel like I know these characters as if they were real.
Having read all of this series I wonder what will happen next, bring on book five.
I love Kennedy's books. This is a great series with awesome characters and world building. Kennedy has this way of making the reader love all his characters - no matter if they are good or bad guys. I find myself rooting for all of them, even knowing they can't ALL win. It doesn't matter though because they are all so great that one can just take in the story and become totally immersed in it. It's glorious.
The first three books in this series have led up to this: interstellar threats, political subterfuge, enemies near and far. And Trevor is caught in the middle of all it. He learns many secrets he never wanted to but so many questions remain. What’s next for the station, and humanity? Trevor is a flawed character, wonderfully human and relatable due to this. He wants to do the best, but with all going on, what does that mean?
The fourth book in a gripping series. The Stallion brothers are again taking on the threats of Black Star. Trevor is now governor of Amity Station while Connor is now a mind conditioned lieutenant within an elite inner group of the armed forces. Thomas is continuing his attempt to undermine Trevor while pretending to be a loyal subordinate. Nexus has revealed himself, though not to Trevor, and sends Connor on a mission to Amity Station. I’m very much looking forwards to the next book.
The developing storylines are offering enough twists to keep you captivated. I can't wait for the next installment. Frank Kennedy has not disappointed with this series.
What a combination, science fiction and a thriller at the same time. Full of action and surprises to make this another book to binge read. Characters to keep you wondering what can happen happen next.
