An interesting journey for Fergus and Nessia

I did enjoy the storyline and characters. There are a lot of characters and the author kept them consistent for the most part. Nessa is very independent and skilled at hunting, horses, and such. I wish she would have stayed that way but as the chapters progressed it is like she looses that talent and just becomes a maiden. That part was disappointing. I am not sure why there was just a small bit about the supernatural and then nothing. It seemed like Nessa might have had a gift.

There is an evil Earl who is threatening all unmatched maidens so Nessa’s father makes an alliance with Fergus McKay, leader of his clan, for safety through marriage to his brother William. Neither Nessa nor William want the marriage, especially since neither has seen the other. But both reluctantly agree to the union for their families, honor, and safety. A complication arises during the first meeting of families when Fergus and Nessa see each other and are drawn to one another. Fergus and Nessia try to fight the feelings but it becomes more difficult than imagined. Read On!
