Born to Die is wat mij betreft haar mooiste album qua lyrics.

I didn't know this could count as a book of any kind haha and I'm also not sure how I just kept clicking to come across it. But I love Lana del Rey and I'm a huge fan!

In concluzie,un album impecabil!

I tried to be able to read those sheet music but they were just so hard for me! So by the end I was just reading and humming along the songs. It was a different experience of books for me (but honestly if it was anyone else except Lana I would've dropped it).

[Offbeat Poet]

Simple, poignant and raw emotion without preface of being more than an honest confession of fluttering thoughts and emotion. Lana Del Rey proves more than a singer and songstress - she is a maker, a dreamer, a poet.

the lyrics to the songs of this album (and tbh every one of her albums) are pure poetry. Quite literally, you could just read the lyrics alone without the music, they'd feel like poems. My favorite songwriter, her talent is out of this world

Rememb'r how we hath used to party up all night?
sneakin' out and lookin' f'r a gust of real life
drinkin' in the bawbling town firelight
(pabst blue ribbon on ice)
sweet sixteen, and we hadst arriv'd
walkin' down the streets as those gents whistleth, "hi, good morrow!"
stealin' police cars with the seni'r guys
teachest'rs hath said we'd nev'r maketh t out alive
th're the lady wast, mine own new most wondrous cousin
high heels in h'r handeth, swayin' in the windeth
while the lady starts to caterwauling
mascara running down h'r dram bambi eyes
"lana, how i misprise those guys"
this is what maketh us girls
we all behold f'r heaven and we putteth loveth first
somethin' yond we'd kicketh the bucket f'r, t's our beshrew
caterwauling not about t, caterwauling not about t
this is what maketh us girls
we sticketh not togeth'r 'cause we putteth loveth first
caterwauling not about that gent, caterwauling not about that gent
t's all gonna befall
and yond's wh're the beginnin' of the endeth begun
ev'rybody kneweth yond we hadst too much excit'ment
we w're skippin' school and drinkin' on the job
with the boss
sweet sixteen, and we hadst arriv'd
baby's table dancin' at the local diveth
che'rin' our names in the pink spotlight
drinkin' ch'rry schnapps in the velvet night
yo, we hath used to wend breaketh into the hotel
glimm'rin', we'd swimeth
runnin' from the cops in our black bikini tops
screamin', "get us while we're hot, receiveth us while we're hot"
(c'mon, taketh a did shoot)
this is what maketh us girls
we all behold f'r heaven and we putteth loveth first
somethin' yond we'd kicketh the bucket f'r, t's our beshrew
caterwauling not about t, caterwauling not about t
this is what maketh us girls
we sticketh not togeth'r 'cause we putteth loveth first
caterwauling not about that gent, caterwauling not about that gent
t's all gonna befall
the prettiest in-crowd yond thee hadst ev'r seen
ribbons in our hair, and our eyes gleam'd cullionly
a freshmen gen'ration of degen'rate beauty queens
and thee knoweth somethin'?
those gents w're the only cater-cousins i ev'r hadst
we did get into troubleth and at which hour stuffeth did get lacking valor
i did get hath sent hence, i wast wavin' on the traineth platf'rm
cryin' 'cause i knoweth i'm nev'r comin' backeth
this is what maketh us girls
we all behold f'r heaven and we putteth loveth first
somethin' yond we'd kicketh the bucket f'r, t's our beshrew
caterwauling not about t, caterwauling not about t
this is what maketh us girls
we sticketh not togeth'r 'cause we putteth loveth first
caterwauling not about that gent, caterwauling not about that gent
t's all gonna befall
