The senior dog paid no attention to the beautiful weather outside. His one focus was the fence in his backyard. He could spend hours digging. What he didn't know was that today was going to be very different from any other. Today this senior dog's life was going to change in the blink of an eye...
Author Catherine Stillwell has volunteered in animal shelters and rescues. She offers readers great suggestions on how to keep your dog from becoming a stray and how to keep your new shelter pet safe at home. Catherine will donate a portion of the proceeds from each Paulie Finds His Forever Home purchase to a local rescue.
Catherine has been a pet advocate and pet parent for over five decades. She has volunteered at numerous shelters and rescues helping where she could. Over the years she has adopted three cats and two dogs. It wasn’t until she adopted senior Paulie that made her want to help other senior shelter dogs.
Her book, "Paulie Finds His Forever Home" was written to bring awareness to senior shelter dogs and to educate pet owners on how to keep their pets from becoming a stray.
Her book was edited by the editor of the "Hunger Games" series!
Aesthetically and readability this book hits all the right marks. From the beautiful art cover and all the illustrations throughout, you can tell that a lot of thought went into this children’s book. The story that is behind it is nothing but a happy ending, and shares an important message of adopting second chance animals that are looking for their furever home. This book would be a wonderful addition to a young family with children.
I've known the author for a decade. Her love for helping shelter animals has always been in her blood. When Paulie passed, she was devastated. They would do fundraisers to help other senior shelter pets. Her mission was to educate pet owners on how to keep their pets safe and from becoming a stray. Last year she reunited a pet owner with their cat that was brought into the shelter as a stray. She wrote this book in memory of Paulie.
I met the author at a local library where her book was donated. She was there doing an event and her love for Paulie and her book was very heartwarming. We spoke for a few minutes and she gave me a bookmark and these adorable stickers. Her husband was there and mentioned that her book was an educational book to educate pet owners on how to keep their pets safe. He was very proud of his wife and her book.
I met the Author out in Tucson by accident. She and her husband were eating out and my family were sitting next to them. We started talking and she mentioned she was an author. I purchased her ebook that night and read it to my daughter. She loved it. I learned so much by reading her suggestions in the book and my daughter wants to volunteer at our local shelter. Catherine wants to make a difference in pets lives and her book does just that. Her book is a winner!
I met the author by accident at our local library. She was there to see where her book was placed after it was catalogued a few days earlier. She left free bookmarks and stickers for the young readers. We spoke briefly about her volunteer work at shelters and rescues and how her book came to be. I found her to be very devoted to senior shelter pets and wanting to educate pet owners on being the best pet owner they can be. Her mission is endearing. I'll be ordering copies of her book to gift. I highly recommend her sweet story.
My daughter is obsessed with pet rescues at the moment. We loved this sweet story from the point of view of Paulie who gets rescued by a family. It explains each step of the process from Paulie’s point of view. The illustrations are warm and the water color feel of the books is extra special.
