2.5 ⭐ This book had promise in the beginning with the new revenge quest, but it soon began meandering through leveling up and not focusing on creating a story, but instead on just grinding through level and boring me with an in depth walkthrough of it. One of the worst parts was when the "training montage" happened, because that was just a character telling them, "Oh, if you do this weird random thing you will get super strong." And then that exactly happening.
There were no stakes and nothing to care about, and the fun of the first book was missing. Maybe it was because the main character was alone for the majority and so we had to go through PAGES of thought process for every decision being made. I've gotten to the point where I just skip entirely the choosing between words for skills because it is truly agonizing.
I also thought it was super weird and conceited that there is now a "super strong" character (and we did not need a chapter introducing her, that was weird) named after the author.
The one thing I can definitely say was improved was that there was only one instance of the female characters talking about each others tits. So the author discovered that women are capable of other types of conversation, so yay.

Could be better
So this first half of this book was very interesting and went fairly well, the latter half was a bit of a slog. Some of the skill choices and trials really dragged on and became a bit of a tedious read.

glad I read the second book, much better than the first.
A much better booked than the first. Love the MC now that she has become more of the central point of view in the book. In the first book, she seemed so hesitant, so wishy-washy and so disorganized. In this book, she comes into her own. I like the additional characters that she meets along the way. Now for what I don’t like, why would an author give his MC a class and abilities that caused her pain and injury such as the angel bolt. That in my opinion is kind of silly. Secondarily there’s too much introspection concerning building her skills and abilities. It’s kind of tedious and convoluted. I admit picking keywords and combining them to make skills is unique, but in my opinion, it should be simplified somewhat, there should be more story and more world building and character growth instead of skill introspection. And finally, I don’t like the word murder, the character is defending herself, that is not the definition of murder. In most cases, murder involves a total disregard for human life as well as premeditation. Besides these issues, I will read the next book when it comes out.

A tentative 2 Stars simply because of the introduction.
After reading (listening) to Book 1, you have an expectation of what to expect. I didn't even get pass 5 minutes of Book 2 because of the introduction. Book 1 was not perfect. It had a lot of humour and everything was somewhat linear.
This book throws out in the middle of the plot. So, the question now becomes, do I have the patience to read through the riddles and untangle the mess or read/listen enough that the story reveals itself?
I don't. What a shame. I know it's personal preference but this is my review in that I dislike this kind of openings.

In this second installment, we were introduced to more characters, action, and more level ups. Sofia is incredibly smart and resourceful. I appreciate that in my main characters. This book ended in such a way to make you want more but not on a cliffhanger. While I do understand the strategy of cliffhangers, it makes it extremely frustrating if you have to wait quite a while for the next book of a series to release. Highly recommended to those who enjoy progression, fantasy worlds, smart and ultimately aligned with good main characters, and action galore,. Well done.:)

Keeps getting better!
I finished the first before the second came out after just stumbling upon it while browsing. The book is long yes but it feels more like reading a series of books in one set. There are individual arcs that lead into the next one.
I love the system of this world and learning everything about it through Sophia’s eyes. I have so many questions and every time I think one will be answered I get more!
Can’t wait for book 3! Wishing I read this one slower!

she really does look like a monster on cover
I have only one thing to say what in all system skills made think to name a chacther your self. You tryed to made it on the nose meta should’ve done, subtle has not to just swing in the readers face should’ve used an alias or gave hints.

This was okay. The protag talking out loud because they are lonely (and so the reader can understand what is going on) was meh.
I did not like the cliffhanger ending.
I guess I will give the next book a go.
These stories aren't hard to digest.

Enjoyable long listen. It's got a nice flow and the progressional story is great. Only complaint is on the audiobook, the narrator almost mumbles/talks to the side when voicing the thoughts/internal thoughts making it hard to hear and follow. Outside of that I recommend for fans of LitRPG progression series.

MC just randomly does shit.
The MC killing some innocent, civilian temple goers was also weird. She just throws lightning at a temple, and then she's like "whoopsie daisy, I killed some innocents". "Why would innocents be in a temple".... WTF YOU MEAN. OF COURSE THERE ARE INNOCENTS IN A DAMN TEMPLE.

Lacks direction.
This does not capture the humor of book one. It lacks any direction and feels like it is being drawn out needlessly. A little bit of story with plenty of fluff and filler.

Still enjoyable
Pretty good reading until the last few chapters. All the words used to pick her last skill just went on and on and on. Then that letter at the end was just bad writing.

Solo arc
I really love how Sofia is on her own journey in this book. She makes friends and gets to know people, but her strength isn't dependent upon anyone besides herself and her summons.

you had me till the end
I enjoyed the first book but it had some uninteresting and dull moments but this one went pretty strong till the end area but still enjoyed the story

Well done, Mornn! A wonderful sequel. I do hope MC becomes more decisive in the next sequel, but overall I rate this "SS!"
