Following a newfound lead on her mother’s disappearance, Cassidy Monroe lands herself at the imposing Glenmont Manor with the equally imposing Ethan Remington.

Trying to prepare the estate for sale while battling the memories it holds, the grumpy billionaire vacillates between dickish, caring, and lecherous.

So, let’s just get this out of the way… I loved the overall premise and story itself. Things get a little wonky for me as Ethan rolls with the assumption that Cassidy was sent to get him “back into the game.“ Despite that, he continues to make her work as a maid, cleaning the Manor top to bottom. Likewise, there is very little … ahem … activity until several days into her stay regardless of her supposedly being there for his pleasure. All that said, Logan Fox is still a relatively new author to me and I am obsessed with the depravity!

I tried to push myself to read because it had a mystery plot but it also felt flat and underwhelming.

One of the things I love most about Logan Fox is how she’s able to get you hooked right within the first three paragraphs. AND how she’s able to get you to love the hero and enemy equally. In her world, no one is truly strictly good or strictly bad, instead each character adds a uniqueness to the story regardless of where they come from.

Definitely read the trigger warnings before starting this book. But I promise you’re in for a thrilling read that opens your eyes to new perspectives, and keeps you constantly guessing what’ll happen next ☺️

This is a well written easy to read, action packed story, with mystery, intrigue, lies, an age gap, stalking, romance, and dark secrets, which leads to a spicy and entertaining thrilling page turner.

Another spicy hot book by Logan Fox! In this book, Cassidy is searching for answers regarding her mother’s death. She knocks at hot billionaire Ethan’s door as he was the last one to see her mother and entered under false pretenses wearing a maid’s uniform. She is pleasantly surprised but does her “job”, while searching for information. Ethan figures it out and soon Cassidy can’t leave. Ethan is following her around and eventually things take a turn as he takes ‘control’. Things get spicy. Logan Fox did not let us down! Oh wow! This was such a great read! The story has missing people, danger, intrigue, mistaken identities, and steamy encounters!

When Cassidy’s mother goes missing, she sets out to find her. In order to find out her last known contact, Cassidy has to assume several different identities. She has to infiltrate the home of the wealthy Ethan Remington, a dark, brooding hulk of a man. But it may be more than she bargained for, when she finds out about his own missing fiancé.

This story will take you on a ride you won’t forget! The main characters are well-developed, and the secondary players fit well into the story.

And coincidentally the same week Detective Lewis informed her that they had given up hope of ever finding her mom. He told her that the case had gone cold and that they was no new leads in three months, and no evidence to support any foul play. Additionally, he tells her that he had limited resources and working a missing persons case with no new leads after three months wasn't his top priority. According to the cops, her mom must have packed up her things and left. It didn't matter how hard she tried to convince them that she wouldn't leave without her because her mom loves her. The note made matters worse when she came home and realized that her mom wasn't there. She had contacted the cops immediately. They came and searched the house but found that they wasn't any sign of forced entry or struggle. They told her that they would have to wait twenty-four hours before they could open a missing person report. They showed her things that she had missed when had gotten home earlier things like her missing clothing, suitcase, toiletries, and her car were all gone. It was them who had pointed out a note of a goodbye letter on the night stand that was addressed to her.
But the contend of the letter doesn't remotely sounded like her even though it was her handwriting. She knew that someone must had forced her to write possibly with a gun to her head. They were just too many neatly put things like an eyes coming forward that they had seen her in said car driving. After a very tired night of pulling two double shifts Cassidy decided to go through the things that she had kept of her mother. She found a Filodax, a clue amongst her things. It was an appointment at 7 pm on 4/11 at Parker Realties with E. Remington. She went to detective Lewis the next morning. She wanted him to reopen the case since she thought that she found a clue. But he told her that they had already seen what she just showing him and couldn't reopen the case. She tells him her mom was going to meet Remington on the day of her disappearance and he was the last person to see her. When detective Lewis shutdown everything that she was saying she decided to take matters in her own hands and play a little detective of her own starting at Parker Realties. She learned that the E. Remington was Ethan Remington and that they were going to be an open house in a couple of days at Glenmont Manor, so she concocted an idea to get in there.
When she was on her way to Glenmont Manor to meet Ethan she encountered an older lady by the name of Oliva broke down on the side of the road. As it turns out she was Remington's maid. A thought came to her then she could go there undercover. She believes that a maid would've access to the entire house including Remington's computer and possibly his cellphone. She convinced Olivia to switch place with her. She gave her her uniform and she plans to split to pay with her. She then she took off to the manor posing as a maid from Shimmer and Shine. However, she was very sarcastic the entire time. It made him wanted to tie her up put her over his legs and spank her. She just didn't know who she was really talking to and that he had a very dark, depraved and twisted side that she brings out. He's very attracted to her even though he believes that she's too young for him. Although she's there to get dirt on him Cassidy can't help but to be drawn to the grumpy man of the manor. She loves his cologne and or body wash that's making her want to throw herself at him. Everything that Cassidy do Ethan can't help but criticize and Cassidy give him a sparky comeback which only further turns him on. The two continued to dance around their attraction until they succumb and boy was it filled with punishments/disciplines and the sex scenes were filthy, smutty and erotic. And when her time came to leave he didn't wanted her to go because she had awaken the beast and calmed the pain and loneliness. They were plenty of mysteries that unfolded and discoveries in both their lives. A great start leading up to their happiness.

That very first chapter had me wide-eyed, not able to understand what the F just happened and I really wanted to know who this "Devil" was.

Poor Cassidy finds that her mother has left and even though they do have their own troubled story yet Cassidy and her mom have always stayed strong together, so when her mother just up and leaves with a single note, Cassidy is not ready to accept the fact.

I truly admired Cassidy for her determination to find out the truth behind her mother's disappearance in spite of the detectives giving up.
The extent she's ready to go for this was truly awe-inspiring.

It felt like a wild adventure when Cassidy finds one address and strives to meet the person behind it.
It becomes all the more exciting when that same person is filthy rich and is met by appointment only.

I was waiting wide-eyed and also had fun seeing how Cassidy makes progress into her goal and when all her search leads to the mysterious Glenmont Manor, she knows she can't back down now.

Even though I saw how Ethan behaved and being the eternal grump that he was, there's something about his character that pulls you to him.

There's this vulnerability under all that grumpiness and you can feel his pain and wanting to find freedom from all that misery.
He certainly had me on my toes with the way he would go hot and cold in a minute.

The tantalising turn in the story was definitely when the case of mistaken identity happens and when finally Ethan gives into his burning desires for his "house maid" whom he found irresistible even after fighting his feelings and desires for her.

The sizzling hot times are filthy and 🔥 and also K1nky in a way that you'll definitely be melting for sure.
And then to know the secret about Ethan makes it all the more hotter. 🥵🌶️🔥

That ending had me beyond shocked and hurt too. But I felt glad that Cassidy and Ethan could find the truth behind it all.

This book takes you along a wild ride of finding the truth and playing pretend but never anticipating finding that one person who makes you feel the burning embers of desire and also never ever being able to imagine the real truth when the curtains are finally down.
A Mystifying ride that's S𝖾𝗑𝗒 and Wild and will bring secrets to you that'll leave you shocked.

Cassidy’s mother disappeared 6 months ago and while the police believe she just ran off, Cassidy knows that’s not true. When she discovers her mother had a meeting with Ethan at his manor the same afternoon she disappeared, Cassidy intends to snoop around the giant house by pretending to be a maid. Ethan is unimpressed with Cassidy’s bratty attitude and longs to spank her out of it — which he does when he mistakenly believes she’s a “gift” from a friend to suit his darker tastes. Cassidy goes along with it, thinking it’ll buy her more time to find some evidence that Ethan’s involved in her mother’s disappearance, but quickly finds out what Ethan does with his “toys” and is ashamed that she likes his rough treatment — and him. Ethan’s never been so taken by a woman and wants to convince her to stay with him once the cleaning’s done. But when their secrets are uncovered, will their feelings change?

I enjoyed this book so much! It’s not as dark as some of Logan’s other books, but it’s just as delicious. The chemistry between Ethan and Cassidy is there from the start. Cassidy quite enjoys riling Ethan up (even while reminding herself he could be dangerous) and as much as she vexes him, Ethan quite enjoys that Cassidy is such a challenge. Watching them circling each other and then finally putting all their cards on the table was so much fun. And those steamy punishment/sex scenes were so 🔥🔥🔥 (as in all of Logan’s books). The multiple mysteries were so well done. Usually, I know right away who’s done what but this one kept me guessing. I wasn’t able to narrow it down to just one suspect. All these things above kept me flying through the pages.

Highly recommend as long as you heed the trigger warnings and have some fresh panties nearby!

Well I hate to do this because I have really liked some of this author's work, but dang, does this author not know the difference between lowercase and uppercase writing, or that if your mother hadn't met your father, you wouldn't have been born?

"Who knows…if she hadn’t met my father, I might have grown up in a mansion like this. Why anyone would want to live out here in the middle of nowhere instead of a penthouse in the city is beyond me."

"What about the fact that he writes in uppercase?" WHAT? Is this supposed to actually be a rom-com, not a dark BDSM romance, because if so, then I might have continued to read it, as it is silly enough to pass for that.

By 29% there have just been too many stupid remarks and mess-ups to waste my time. I need a writer that repects a reader enough to not write things like this and call it:

I finished this book in a couple of days. This story surprised me. I was expecting it to be all dark and dirty from the get-go. It was not, and that is okay by me. I loved the storyline and how it naturally progressed. The characters were likeable. At times, the MFC came across as childish. The MMC was dark, brooding, a bit of a beast, but so likeable. It started out with Cassidy trying to look into her mother's disappearance. She thought Ethan had something to do with it, so she decides to try to find out what he knows. Little did she know, she was walking into a wolf's den. Ethan wasn't expecting Cassidy, nor did he know what he was getting into when she showed up on his doorstep wearing a maid's uniform. Needless to say, they spend much time together and when the dark steamy scenes happen, they are well written and adds to the story. The entire book had me hooked from the beginning to the end. I will be reading more of this author's work.

I do not even know where to start with my review of Logan Fox’s latest novel, House of Lies! This is quite possibly the hottest book I have ever read. It is not for the faint of heart and there are several trigger warnings that should be read first (I am not ashamed to confess I had to look a couple of them up). The story itself is compelling, Cassidy Monroe is a loving and devoted daughter whose mother goes missing but when the police stop investigating her disappearance deciding it is a cold case, Cassidy takes the matter into her own hands by finding the last person her mother was with on the day she disappeared, Ethan Remington, a billionaire recluse in the process of selling his mansion who has a very short fuse, plenty of secrets, and certain proclivities. I won’t give away the plot, just know this is a cleverly written novel, with loads of mystery, suspense, off the chart heat, and, it kept me guessing. I was not certain anyone was how they appeared. I stayed up all night until I finished this novel and was really happy I did!! BUY THIS BOOK!!

Cassidy is the looking for her mom. The police is doing only so much and it's frustrating to her when she has a new lead and no one will listen. Taking things into her own hands, her new clue leads her to the Ethan Remington.

This grumpy man is expecting the cleaning service to come so he can sell the mansion. When he opens the door, he never though this young curvy lady would make him come alive again. The attraction is something he is trying to run from but Cassidy smart mouth and doe eye looks are bringing him back to life.

The insta attraction is fraught by both but in the end fate is leading them to a path they never though would be possible.

be warned , there are triggers and some scenes are a little hard to read but if your a fan of dark romance, you'll devour this one.

My feelings are all over the place with this book. I was enjoying it and then had a major stress response to meeting AngeNO and some of the MFC's behavior. There are things I REALLY want to say but I do not like to discuss particulars about books because I don't want to mess it up for anyone.

I do not think I can articulate what I feel. I am happy that Ethan & Cassidy found each other. I am frustrated at some of their choices. I do not regret reading the book. It had two characters with emotional baggage that got in the way of making wise decisions; there was mystery and steam.

Read it and find out if YOU can articulate better than I. There will be triggers for some people (different ones depending on each person's life) so be kind to yourself.

Ethan and Cassidy: each other’s ❤️ and soul!!

Logan Fox is a mad genius! Cassidy is the epitome of stubborn, outspoken, and loyal! She’s a huge thorn in Ethan’s distracted, irritated, and busy life. He’s so debauched, so dark, and exquisitely dirty that she’s astounded by his audacity, but even more intrigued and confused by her overwhelming desire!

Their story is beautifully scripted, scintillating, and fraught with emotions that neither of them ever saw coming. A sexy BDSM tale of some push the boundaries kink, mysterious disappearances, and criminal activity. The bonus chapters are sweet, spicy X a million, and melts even the most icy heart!! I love Ethan and Cassidy: they are meant for each other!.

As a new Author for me I was well and truly pleased with their steamy romantic world of possessive lovers. The characters were so great and it seems to confuse me that I love these possessive alphas in books and the way in which they simply take charge and see no wrong in their behavior, but I guess that is the 'magic' of reading it can transport you to any sort of scenario. I thought it was a well designed plot filled so deliciously with action, drama, emotional turmoil, mystery and such 'hot' moments of romance stalking. I would suggest others need to peruse the authors trigger listing to ensure that you don't find moments that could upset you, but all in all a tremendously entertaining read and an Author I will definitely continue to check out their works in the future.

I went into this book intrigued but not sure how it would evolve. This story captures you from the very beginning, and it just keeps pulling you in deeper and deeper until the very last page! It has mystery, secrets, twists, turns, survival, conflict and a lot of sexual scenes. Cassidy, with the love of a daughter who will do anything to find her mom and Ethan, the broken man who is just trying to find a way to overcome heartbreak, come together through deception, anger, pain, confusion, misunderstandings, confidence, strength, stubbornness, doubt, frustration, acceptance, and determination. I love the depth of the characters, the phenomenal world building, and solid storyline. So well done, I anxiously await the next book in this series.

I love picking up a Logan Fox novel, it always perfectly surprises me. One would believe that you know what you are getting into when you read the book summary. You always get the story you signed on for but the ride from beginning to end is always a wild ride of adventure. Cassidy is determined to find out more about her mother's death. This takes her to Ethan's doorstep. Ethan is no fool but allows Cassidy into his home under the pretense of her being a maid. Now the story takes off down the twisty road that kept me absolutely hooked. Make sure to read the warnings before proceeding. I absolutely loved the story. Enjoy!.

Amazing, never expected that ending for Ethan and Cassidy. This book will definitely leave you in shock, but with its twist and turns you won’t be disappointed. I love how determined Cassidy is in proving her mom did not runoff without her. I also love her strength, courage and proactive even if it lands her in trouble at times. I have to say her tenacity do leads her to Ethan. Which in turns brings out the beast in him. Yes, we all have a dark side, but his is on another level could be good or bad it’s all how you look at it. Honestly speaking I love how Cassidy was able to embrace her inner self. Most importantly I wonder what other secrets are at the Glenmont Mansion.

I'm not certain where to start! This book has a disturbing storyline but I didn't want to put it down. Everytime I thought I had it figured out something else would happen. Ethan appears to be a grump but the story will tell you what all he has been through granting him the right to be grumpy. Cassidy just wants to find her mom or at least prove that she didn't just run off and leave her. The other characters in the story are truly a bonus. The Baymont Boys!?! Angelo (disturbing)!!! I was a little disappointed that Ethan didn't have a stronger reaction when he discovered what happened to Becks but there was also a lot happening at the time. This book is worth the read but be sure to check the trigger warnings! I'm voluntarily leaving my review

The Balmont Boys are intriguing with Smith’s book next.

Intensely Erotic
I Could Not Put This Book Down!! This book will take you on a ride that you can’t even imagine. Cassidy is on a mission to find her mother and will stop at nothing until she does. Tricking Ethan while she snoops is the first of many times that Cassidy pushes the limits in her quest. Ethan has his own demons and is willing to use Cassidy to heal but little do either of them know that the devil is living among them. When he decides to strike everything that they thought was possible turns inside out and upside down. I can not wait for the next book in the series, House of Cards.

This book is WOW 😱 it hooks you from the start and pulls you deeper the further you go !! Cassidy ends up at the house of lies while trying to solve her mothers murder where she meets the much larger older dark brooding and mysterious Ethan.. the chemistry is instant and the spice is 🔥 what started out as Cassidy looking for answers about her mothers murder quickly becomes so much more and this book has it all!! Logan Fox did a stellar job of writing the characters and story line with the right amount of spice and suspense to keep you completely engaged and wanting more!.

This was an incredible story full of suspense a serial killer and romance. In this story we meet Cassidy and Ethan. Cassidy just can't get a break my heart ached for her. Cassidy goes to great lengths to find her mom. When the leads leave her pretending to be a house maid . When she meets Ethan it's instant chemistry between Ethan is brought back to find love. It will lead them to figure out the threat together. I was excited to see the ending of the story. I recommend you read this book on a lazy weekend.

Wow!!! Just wow!!! House of Lies by Logan Fox is the utterly captivating, entrancing story of Ethan and Cassidy. Her mother is missing and everything leads to him. She is determined. But, he is the unexpected owner of the mansion….and he is definitely not what she expected.

Freaking LOVED both of these characters sooooooooo much!!! He is dominant, disarming, delicious, dastardly, and definitely not what she thought. She is determined, surprised, intense, and unsure….but, definitely interested. This story hooked me from page one!!! I was completely immersed in their world…gothic, dark, sinister, languid….so many things!!! One of the best reads of the year!!!!
