"Family is who you choose and your life is yours to live and no one else's."
"Becca, I called you a Hawk because that Death's head Hawkmoth Kaleb told you about was the most badass---most beautiful---thing I'd ever f****** seen."
"But her face, portrayed how it was, would haunt me for the rest of my miserable life. A promise of what would happen if I wasn't strong enough to protect her."
"I'd never seen cruelty like this. And I'd been subjected to a fair amount of my own."
"Whatever I have, it's yours, Hawk. Scars and all."
"You can't die, Hawk. And neither can I. Believe it and nothing can hurt you."
OMG, this was a perfect way to end this duet and wrap up the crows/kings series. I wish we got an extended epilogue or even another book of what happens to them all down the line. I loved how much action and how fast-paced this book was. So much was going on, and I was on the edge of my seat, wondering what would happen next. When I thought they were in the clear, bam, more people died 😭😂. This was emotional, spicy, funny, and action-packed. I was in my feels quite a bit for this one.
This left off right where book one ended. Aodhan's dad, the Irishman leader, was hell-bent on killing all the Saints and taking over. There were many wars going on. Many lives lost. Many times they had to recalculate what to do. Even with Aodhan helping, his psycho father was two steps ahead. Seeing the crows come in at the end to help was EVERYTHING. I started screaming when they pulled up 😂. This was a very hard fought HEA, but damn did they all deserve it.
I knew I couldn't hate Aodhan. Yes he did bad things, but given his past and upbringing, it was to be expected. I loved how he fit into the relationship with the three. I loved how Hardin tolerated him and Kaleb warmed up to him. They will do anything for Becca. I wish we got more scenes with Aodhan and Becca, but I'm happy we got some! And the group spice was 🔥🔥🥵😉💦. The chemistry was off the charts 😏. I really loved the connections of Becca and her men. They were each different. I loved seeing Becca grow and come into herself.
The best part of this book was the family fighting, surviving, and going to war together. I loved how Damien, Sloane, Kaleb, and Hardin all protected and fought together. I love Sloane so much. I wish we got more scenes with Damien and Becca. I would of loved to see their relationship get deeper. All in all, this was a fantastic series and I will read anything by this author.
