Timeless Advice

Written using simple and clear language and famous examples, we've all heard them and read them and you might think what's new? But I believe there are some lessons that will never go out of textbooks because they remain a problem even now and probably always will and we need as many help books written from new and fresh perspective and flair.
Very succinct with encouraging language and actionable advice.

I am very critical with the self-development books, Having some understanding of the ways and dialects of how to teach and change habits, that made me very disappointed with this book. this opinion could be from someone who is high achiever, so i would say, you can take- if you want- my opinion as an advice how to avoid disappointment with this book.

I have read the book in less than 60 minutes .. so the first positive thing about this piece.. that you can really read it in 60 minutes.. however .. when i reached the conclusion.. i felt like .. what did this book added to me??

The ideas are like having friendly conversation with someone who is superficially enumerating some theory about how to be self-disciplined.

so you can start with the conclusion first .. if you are completely lost, and you feel well i want to read through these chapters.. then this book is for you.

maybe this book is just to touch base with some headlines .. it is okay if it is like that.

but again .. i felt like there should be some challenging scenarios .. even in these small number of pages .. rather this narrative version of stating some facts .. some more valid.. it is not analytical or challenging your uncomfortable zone, it is narrative with some examples that can be very superficial some times .. i cannot say that an athlete is training every day as part of routine.. yes .. athletes have routine for some sort of biological circadian rhythm that need to be maintained for their muscle growth.. but training every day is because he needs to progress every day.. every small baby step adds to the success.. and that is not just having routine..

I believe this topic is deeper than that and saying that in 60 minutes you can create fundamentals of self-discipline is something like a fairytale that you can’t make it true ..

.. if you are totally lost you don’t know from where to start .. you can start from here

that’s why i was between 2 and 3 stars .. but was more inclined towards the two stars as i felt really bored by the end of the book despite the fact it was only in less than 60 minutes…

In “Self-Discipline in 60 Minutes,” William Jacobson presents a brisk yet comprehensive guide for anyone looking to improve their self-discipline. The book is a testament to the power of simplicity, distilling the essence of self-control and goal achievement into seven actionable habits. Jacobson’s approach is practical and empathetic, acknowledging the everyday struggles with procrastination and the importance of routine in cultivating a disciplined life.

The book’s brevity is one of its strengths, making it an ideal read for busy individuals who may feel overwhelmed by more voluminous self-help tomes. It’s a quick journey through the fundamentals of self-discipline that doesn’t skimp on depth, offering clear strategies to implement the habits discussed. While some may wish for more detailed pointers, the book’s focus on core principles allows for clarity that can be lost in more complex works.

Jacobson’s work shines in its accessibility; it’s a book you can finish in a single sitting but reflect on for much longer. The author’s encouragement is palpable as he guides readers through turning failures into learning opportunities and setting routines that pave the way to success. His message is clear: self-discipline isn’t about harsh restrictions but aligning daily actions with one’s deepest values and goals.

It’s a beautiful attempt to condense essential life lessons into a digestible format that respects the reader’s time and intelligence. Crisp and sweet

Very crisp and neatly described with practical examples. I love to read short version of the motivational books, many books have 100s of pages, which I might miss the main points , here the author is up to the point.

Revision of universal Truth

The known facts in simple 7 steps. You may know all these already. But giving them in an organized 7 steps is really a good thing. It won't take much time to read. But that time you spent to read this is really worthy.. Thanks to the author.

Quick Read Indeed

I picked this book up to break my "not read anything in a while" phase. Quick read indeed thus helps you wear reading eyes back.

As such no new insight if you have read enough motivational books but a good start in that journey of reading self help books.

Direct and effective.

The author comes to the point without wasting time and presents the content in a very lucid manner. Takes very less time to read but the approach advocated in the book is as effective as reading. 500-page best seller book.

A book to read more than once

This is a book that I you can read in your commute or in a flight or that Uber ride you got during traffic time. It’s the perfect book to remind you of the basic and help you clear your cloudy mind about how and where to start when you feel stuck!

Generic and useless

A very generic and utterly useless book no real life examples no specific advice very generalized and their conclusion in the end with the list of so-called habits should have been the whole book.

well put

Mr Jacobson put the ideas in his book using vocabulary and examples that help readers understand so much better. He didn’t write chapters upon chapters writing off topic things he stayed on point. This is a wonderful, inspiring book.
