About the author

E.J. grew up with her head in the clouds and her nose in a book; every time she flipped the page she was transported across realms, across centuries and immersed in the author's story as if she was a part of the pages. E.J. has always been a lover of all things fantasy- cosplay, video games, books etc.

She wanted to write something that would leave you gripping the pages, on the edge of your seat, as you live in the world she created. E.J. LOVES love; that heart wrenching, time-stopping, soul finding love. ​She wants you to yearn for the kind of love that our MMCs shower on our FMCs; and have you realize that you deserve that too. (and all the spice with it!)

​When E.J. is not writing, she is drawing, designing, gardening, hunting and trapping and more. She loves living off the land with her soulmate and heart bond, their children, multiple furry babies and chickens. She is proud to be Metis and is severely hard of hearing (which was why books were her go-to).

This was a fun read the magic system was interesting and not too hard to follow. It is a slow burn with faded mates I really enjoyed the beginning had some to Canada and being a Canadian girly. I really like that. I’m super excited for the rest of the series and will be highly recommended.4.5

If you're looking for an engaging book, set in it's own unique world, and *passionate* characters, I'd recommend picking this up and putting it on your TBR list.

EJ has a unique writing style and excels at putting you into the scenes she creates. Admittedly, I have not read a lot of books with POV changes, so I had my hesitations when they were first presented. However, once I let the story flow and started focusing on what each character was experiencing, the pages didn't miss a beat.

I'm late to the party, but will definitely be picking up book two "Through Light and Whispers" once I finish up.

This unfortunately was a DNF for me… I can see the effort of trying to create something great, but there were so many spelling/grammatical/formatting errors that really detracted from the story line.

The writing was quite amateur, and I often found myself going “wait, what? That doesn’t make sense…” flipping back to compare what I read on earlier pages and realizing things don’t line up.

Although I think there is potential, it was tough to connect to the characters, and the story, because of the lack of writing experience, and based on my comments above.

This is a slow-burn romance where the central focus is the love story. It receives the most attention and is incredibly touching, with the characters sharing a rare, healthy, and pure love. You'll also find beautiful descriptions of both our world and the fantasy world, with great attention to detail. It will appeal most to readers who love to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of deep love. By the end of the book, the plot becomes intense and dramatic, fully justifying its dark fantasy genre.

I felt like so much happened in this book, it really felt like 4 stories in one! 😅
I loved the way the journey started out and how Annika came to be back in her world.
The twists and turns that happened after that, I was shocked to say the least!
At times I did feel like some parts of the story were slow burns, but then the action came in and would give me whiplash haha!
I can’t wait to read the next one!

Fantastic first installment of the soul binding chronicles! Annika and Damien are a love story, for the ages! Beautiful high fantasy story, that is plot and character driven. The audio narrator is deliciously soulful and intriguing with high amounts of smexy lol. EJ Lindell has had a timeless story, that should be revered. Would be a rearead all over again.
