The only man I can’t have is the only one I want.

My feelings for my boyfriend’s dad have always been manageable—just a little crush that I can ignore. He may be kinder to me than I deserve, and he may look at me like I’m the most beautiful woman he’s ever laid eyes on, but that doesn’t mean I’d ever act on how I feel.

But when my boyfriend derails our romantic trip, things start to change. He’s supposed to be making up for the hell he put me through, but instead we end up at his dad’s beach house for a week. I like his dad, so it could be worse, but I can’t deny how much it stings every time my boyfriend brushes me off.

Marcus, however, is the exact opposite of his son. Attentive, caring, and willing to drop everything for me when my boyfriend won’t. It’s enough to nurture my little crush into something bigger—something forbidden yet nearly irresistible.

The more time I spend with him, the closer I get to crossing a line. And with every day that my boyfriend shows me he’ll never change, I can’t help but wonder if maybe I’m with the wrong man.

Usually in these kinds of books the author goes out of her way to show that the bfs dad is a good guy and never wanted to actually hurt their son.

But in this book Marcus really looked HIS SON in the eye and said "I'm in love with your girlfriend, I purposely stole her from you, and I can f*ck her better than you any day of week. Now get out of my house."

Oh and he's a wealthy pleasure Dom. Liliana is a lucky lady.

“Why can’t you just accept that someone thinks you’re enough?” She stops, lips parted and eyes wide, staring up at me in shock. “What?” “Tell me that’s not what’s going on here. Tell me you aren’t scared, and that you aren’t trying to find every stupid reason to convince yourself that you aren’t good enough for this. For me. Do it, Liliana.”

This was just i cute story😍
Lily for the last 4 years didn't think that she is not good enough for Nate, so she founds out recently that Nate is cheating on her with his colleague so Lily is trying everything in her power to fix their relationship. They think is a good think to spent one week at his father place.

Lily through the book is insecure and Nate's father Marcus is trying to proof to her that she is deserving someone better. Their connection build through the years and they were refusing to feel anything for eachother until one night when they are all alone..

This was a fun read so if you are fan of:
▪️age gap
▪️boyfriend's dad
▪️cheating

This is the perfect book for you.

Never less was a great read. If you're a fan of Penelope Douglas you should definitely check this one out! This novella had me hooked, If you like the trope boyfriend's father and age gap then you will like reading about Liliana and Marcus. Marcus is such a wonderful man, I loved how caring, and understanding he was.
Everytime Marcus called Liliana his "little star" it melted my heart.

Never Less is a boyfriend’s dad romance novella. When Lilliana’s boyfriend derails their romantic getaway to spend the week at his dad’s beach house, things take a turn for their relationship. With Nate being distant, the only thing Lilliana could do was turn to his dad, Marcus. With years of attraction towards one another… well, you know how that goes.

This book was advertised as an erotic romance on BookSirens, but I felt like it wasn’t erotic enough. There was some tension, but the act wasn’t done until more than halfway through the book.

I couldn’t relate with Lilliana. I personally wouldn’t stay with someone after finding out he had been cheating on me for years. I wouldn’t have cared if he was the safe option. But I’m happy she grew some balls at the end. Also, how does one uproot her whole life and move to a whole new state after one week to live with her boyfriend’s dad?

But what I did like about the book was that there was an actual plot to it, even if it was a short one. I just wish there was a better mix of the plot and smut. I did like the reassurance that Marcus gave Lilliana. She was constantly doubting herself due to Nate gaslighting her, but Marcus would just swoop in and reassure her. He understood her and was patient with her.

I usually don’t gravitate toward the cheating trope, but in this case, Nathan totally deserved what he had coming. The chemistry between Marcus and Liliana is *chefs kiss*. They truly care for one another, and you can feel the love between them. Marcus sees Liliana, and he sees her hurting and steps in to take care of her. Marcus calls her “Little Star” and it is the cutest thing ever; they both look to the stars for comfort and find solace in one another.

Thank you so much to Book Sirens for the early copy! This is a must-read for the lovers of taboo,(ex) boyfriend’s dad, age gap romances!

This was quick read for sure. But oh boy, did it test my patience.

Let’s start with the fmc. Look, I can handle a character who cries a lot, needs reassurance, and has the confidence of a damp tissue. That’s fine if the book owns it. But here? Everyone keeps insisting she’s "so strong, intelligent, and mature" while she’s busy melting down every other page. Sorry, but no. If you’re gonna be the weepy, insecure type, then embrace it! Don’t gaslight me into believing she’s some powerhouse heroine when she’s literally sobbing his arms for the tenth time 😐

And then there’s the age gap. He’s 25 years older. Cool, do your thing. But the fmc just waltzing into his friend group (who are also around 25 years older) and instantly becoming besties? Going shopping together like they’re lifelong gal pals? Nah uh. Friendships don’t speedrun like that, with a whole generational gap in the middle. That was so unrealistic.

Oh, and for the love of god! If you’re going to, um, enjoy yourself and get off to your son’s girlfriend while she’s literally in the same house… maybe CLOSE YOUR DOOR?! 😭 ??? And maybe don’t loudly moan her name while doing it. This is basic etiquette, sir. We learn "inside voice" in kindergarten 🤡

So yeah, overall it was quick and readable, but also kind of a hot mess. Fun in a weird way, but not exactly the romance realism it was aiming for.

This book is definitely hot with steamy sex scenes. I didn’t care for some of Marcus’ behavior. He’s caring and sweet, but also is a little cheesy when it comes to romance. He acts like a love-sick teenager by being overly excited about seeing Liliana whenever she’s gone. He runs to meet her at the car when she returns from a shopping trip. Also, I didn’t care for the nickname, “Little Star.” It was another eye roll for me every time he said it.

I did enjoy the storyline and the sex scenes were intense. I think I would’ve enjoyed it more if Marcus was a stronger character.

Despite being forty-five, Marcus was a total swoonboat, and the sex scenes were interesting (with lots of edging!), but I didn't know why these two liked each other besides physical attraction. They didn't seem to have any interesting conversations, and I know they had known each other for a few years, but to have sold me on their connection, the author needed to write in more conversation. I barely knew anything about Marcus or Lilian. I get that this was a novella, but it was still long enough at 200-something pages.

Marcus gave me total Mars in Virgo vibes, the way he was so devoted to Lilian's pleasure, caring more about her pleasure than his.

Lilian's original man, her boyfriend, was such a douche that I felt it was too easy for us to root for her to be with Marcus instead. I wanted more tension and buildup there, and I wanted her boyfriend, the OM, to be less bad.

I loved the cover, though!

OMG! This book is so hot, and steamy and full of aghast! I love many things about it. Liliana’s struggle seemed absolutely real to me. I didn´t get why she stayed with her boyfriend once she found out what he did to her, but I’m not judging here. Marcus, on the other hand, is everything she needs. A perfect gentleman, caring, sweet and unbelievable sexy. They fight their attraction a lot but things get messy really quick. I was not a fan of some decisions by the end of the book but the story is totally addictive.

I simply can't resist an Elira Firethorn book it's like falling in love all over again with every turn of the page! This latest gem, "Never Less," was nothing short of perfection, absolute PERFECTION! Elira's magical ability to craft such enchanting tales, brimming with vibrant characters and tantalizing chemistry, never fails to leave me utterly spellbound. Though her books are novellas, they possess the allure and depth of a full-length novel, leaving me yearning for more long after the final page is turned.

This time, we dive into the lives of Liliana and Marcus a love so forbidden yet so undeniably right. Marcus, the enigmatic father of Liliana's boyfriend, ignites a spark in her that she never felt with anyone else. Their story is a whirlwind of emotion and longing, set against the backdrop of a vacation that promises more than just a getaway from the mundane.

Liliana's journey is one of self-discovery, of realizing she's worthy of a love that's kind and true not the harsh treatment she's known. And as the tension between her and Marcus builds, it's like watching two stars collide; beautiful, explosive, and destined. But with every stolen glance and unspoken promise, the question lingers, is she ready to leave the past behind?

Elira Firethorn thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for this arc that feels like a first kiss full of hope, wonder, and the sweet promise of more to come.

This was amazing! I don’t think I’ve read a book this quick in a looong time! I was drawn in from the first page and every one after got better and better!

I love taboo romance and boyfriend’s dad definitely tops that list for me.

A captivating read that had me so engrossed from chapter to chapter I never wanted it to end! I loved Liliana’s character, her personality is equal parts sweet and spicy, how she processed her feelings and made decisions was incredibly well done and in tune for someone her age, and how even tho she is very career focused, she made sure she slowed down and made time for her personal life.

And Marcus..Sigh.. that man..my heart ❤️‍🔥
He’s just the whole package! Two words my friends, Pleasure. Dom.
Need I say more? So hot, so sweet, so incredible.

Remember, you are always worth more, Never Less ❤️

Definitely recommend this one if you’re looking for a fast pace, high heat, taboo read!

Tropes - cheating, age gap (25F, 45M), boyfriend's dad, novella, rich, medium burn, he's a giver

I wanted to scream have some respect for yourself and leave his ass HOWEVER, she ended up with Marcus (MMC) so I guess it wasn't all that bad lmao 😅

Whilst cheating is not my thing, I did enjoy this book. Marcus was a sweetheart and really knows how to dish out both praise and pleasure

This is a fast paced story and her ex (forgot his name) needs to think about his life lol

A short, fast paced spicy Boyfriend's dad novella, what's not to love? We all know by now that’s if it’s an ex’s dad, I’ll eat it up!!

I'm not one to condone cheating, but Nate, Liliana's boyfriend, and Marcus’s son, had it coming, and it just so happened to be his dad that was the man for the job haha, and I wasn’t mad about it!

Never Less releases May 29, 2024

I went into this knowing it would have cheating to some degree, which is something I’m not that fond of, but I had a hopeful outlook since I’ve enjoyed Elira’s other works.
Unfortunately, this turned out worse than I expected.
I will be discussing this book in detail, so if you’re looking for a spoiler free review, this isn’t it.

Liliana and Marcus are the two main characters of this story, and have an age gap of 20 years.

Liliana and her boyfriend Nate are headed to his father’s beach house for a week under the guise that his father, Marcus, is lonely, and that this will be a trip where Liliana and Nate can mend their relationship after it came to light that he’s been cheating on her for years.

First of all, Liliana and Nate read like they were 18 instead of 25-year-olds so it was hard to take anything they were doing or saying seriously as there was a lack of maturity.

I think what made this all worse was the fact that the attraction between Liliana and Marcus had been brewing between them for the entire past five years that Liliana and Nate have been together, and it didn’t come out of the blue during this trip with the rising tension of Nate’s behaviour and absence.

When Liliana confides in Marcus that his son cheated on her, he absolutely crosses a line by inappropriately incorporating a new “little star” nickname.
Regardless if Nate is an asshole, Nate and Liliana are still in a relationship, so it wasn’t right that Marcus and Liliana were lusting over each others physical appearances and having public dinners that included holding hands.

Lines are crossed when Nate is away on an overnight camping trip with his friends, and Liliana and Marcus share an intimate moment. It’s one thing to include cheating in a book, but I feel like what made the delivery exceptionally off-putting was the dialogue and “reasoning” where the characters tried to justify themselves, except it was all very contradictory.

Liliana says she doesn’t want to hurt Nate the same way he hurt her (by cheating), yet she proceeds to get on her knees in front of Marcus who is naked.
When she gets on her knees, Marcus says she’s “not doing anything wrong” and “doesn’t have to do a single thing” but she’s literally an active participant.

He follows by saying: “I’m a grown man. I can make my own decisions and deal with the consequences.” Okay great, but it doesn’t just involve you? Cheating involves two other people who are currently in a relationship.

This is where I wish people would just own up to their own shitty actions and take accountability without spewing additional nonsense, because Liliana goes on to say that her cheating was justified and that Nate deserved it because it’s what he did to her, after all.
Can cheating ever be justified? I don’t think so. This whole idea of “he deserved it because he did it first” is honestly so immature.
And then for a 45-year-old man to think that she shouldn’t feel guilty for cheating and that she had every right because Nate was treating her less than adequately is just baffling. What message are you really trying to say?

The icing on the cake is when Liliana climbs Marcus like a tree after sobbing about “taking advantage” of him, and he rejects her and says “have some standards for yourself.” That’s rich!!!

If the roles were reversed and Liliana was his daughter, would Marcus still apply the same sentiments? I can’t wrap my head around the fact that he’s praising her for cheating in the same breath that he’s scrutinizing his son and describing Nate as a greedy, selfish bastard for doing the same thing. Isn’t that a bit hypocritical?

The fact that Marcus’s credit card pin was set to Liliana’s birthday, how she wears nail polish in the same shade as his favourite colour as a way to “live out her fantasies without doing anything wrong,” or the fact that she was ready and willing to leave Nate for his father BEFORE she even found out about him cheating on her first is enough to tell me that this runs way deeper than whatever workplace fling Nate had, and they were in fact emotionally cheating for just as long, if not longer than Nate was.

Marcus: “I’d never tolerate him [Nate] treating someone like that. How he could ever think it’s justified goes to show how wide the chasm is between us now.”
What does that say about the girl you’re currently “obsessed” with? The person who thinks it was justified to cheat on your son? How wide is the chasm between the two of you???

If Marcus and Liliana had any ounce of decency left in their body, they would have had the courtesy to wait the ONE day it took for Nate to get back from his trip before they took things all the way, agreeing to move in with each other, and discussing their private matters with Marcus’s friends.

And while I’m here, I just have to mention the absurdity of Liliana’s reasoning for not liking camping.
“The outdoors hasn’t ever really been my thing. Spending time outside? Sure. But if I go too long without air conditioning or running water, I don’t do too well.”
AIR CONDITIONING! There are people dying, struggling to keep a roof over their head. Get a reality check.
