Alex Frith has been a children's non-fiction author since 2005. Working exclusively for Usborne Publishing, he has written over 50 books covering almost any subject you can think of, from the origins of the Universe to the meaning behind world religions, from extinct animals to prototype AIs, and from Japanese legends to Norse mythology. Two of his books have been shortlisted for the Royal Society Young's People's Book Prize: See Inside Inventions (2012), and 100 Things to Know About Space (2017).

Alex grew up in a house surrounded by comics and graphic novels, and has a lifelong passion for the medium. Beyond the comics he photocopied and passed around the playground of his primary school, he wrote the 4-part series 'Digital Graffiti' with artist Gez Fry in 2003, and has had short story comics published in FutureQuake and the Asteroid Belter.

Great books for young readers who loves solar system topic like my 5 years-old kid! We really love this book! It's fun and entertaining!

"Espreita o universo" é um livro especialmente pensado para os pequenos curiosos sobre o espaço, o universo e todos os segredos que ele esconde. Este é livro pensado para os mais pequenos a partir dos dos seis anos e promete uns bons momentos de aprendizagem de forma divertida em família.

O conceito do livro é semelhante aos restantes desta colecção, "Espreita" da Porto Editora: o livro vai apresentando diferentes factos e questões sobre os quais podemos encontrar mais informação ou descobrir as respostas levantando as mais de 70 abas que compõem este livro. Trata-se de um livro ilustrado, com ilustrações simples mas bastante apelativas, que explora desde as galáxias, às estrelas, aos planetas ou aos buracos negros, puxando pela curiosidade dos mais novos e estimulando o seu interesse pela área das Ciências e da Astronomia. Sem dúvida, um livro que recomendo a todos e que poderá ser um óptimo ponto de partida para uma vista ao Planetário Calouste Gulbenkian para aprofundar algumas das perguntas e respostas que podem ser encontradas neste livro.
