This omnibus guide covers much of what you see and yet is small enough to carry easily.

Splendid book! Definitely NOT comprehensive but honestly unless you’re some kind of experienced nature-finder, recognizing and knowing these plants and animals will get you like 85% of the way there. Love having this with me on trips for kicks and giggles too :)

This book, while written in an easy-to-understand format, barely skims the surface of California's rich ecological diversity. I'd recommend this book for visitors to the Golden State or casual observers.
