Following in her own tradition of writing about slightly older Doms and subs participating in the BDSM lifestyle, Claire De Lune offers this novella about Prometheus and his trials trying to claim a sub for his own.
I enjoyed this book, but I wanted more. At less than 90 pages, it felt more like a long draft than a fleshed out book.
Jenny was a likeable heroine, who has been traumatized by an evil Dom and his friends in her past. Prometheus, nearing 50, wants to settle down with his own sub, and has set his sights on Jenny. But her refusal to do a private scene with him angers him, until he hears why. When one of the Doms who hurt her shows up at his private club, it is time to take action to free Jenny from her fears.
The BDSM in the book is light, but graphic, and how can you not like a Dom as protective and caring as Prometheus? I would have liked to have known more about both the main characters and the book had a rushed feel about it.
Still, the plot is excellent, the information we are given about the characters makes them likeable, and the book was a quick enjoyable read. It’s fun to read the book as written because the author is very British and it shows in some of the language. Is there such a thing as an English/English to American/English translation?
