June 18, 2024There's no one to blame but myself for the feelings I'm having right now, and I'm not even shocked that they're all negative.
Wyatt (34) is newly married to Sophie's (22) mom (he said it was a drunken mistake), and he volunteered to pick her up and drive her back home (i think she just graduated). They took a road trip that should have been for only four days but was stretched to a week, and let's just say they did a lot of morally wrong and eyebrow-raising things during their stops.
I thought I could handle this, but unfortunately, it only proves I don't have the stomach for cheating. Deep down, I know I can't stand it, but I still tried here, idk what my end goal is, though, honestly. 🥲
Anyway, while I know her mom is a witch who really doesn't care for her, what Sophie and Wyatt did was still not fair. I know it takes two to tango; I'm not solely blaming her, but she was the one who made the first move and seduced her "stepfather". He's also a scum for taking the temptation when he shouldn't have.
And I got all the ick that Sophie had no problem sleeping with a man who slept with her mother. And she had the audacity to get mad and glare at her mom when she was kissing Wyatt. I mean, hello, she's the wife, and they're married; of course, she has every right to do that. But then I guess it's not an issue after all, since Sophie still gets him almost every night. 🤢 She doesn't mind him kissing her mom, as long as he won't sleep with her.
Anyhoo, I'm gonna be careful now with exploring taboo-ish novellas. It turns out I still have lines I can't cross. 🤷♀️

One thing about flying thousands of miles up in the air, you get to relax and read or be read to. Or sleep.. #Bliss
This story surprised me. I have to say that I wasn't expecting the plot that was attached to it, but I love it. It made it all more interesting and sweet. I LOVE Wyatt! He's.. yeah.. Some of the things he did and said definitely reminds me of someone that I know..
I absolutely can't stand Sophie's mother. And once I found out the part she played in Sophie's relationship with her father, that really creamed my corn! It would have been nice to see this part of the secondary plot unfold though. Where Sophie and her dad is concerned, since it was brought up.
But I still love this brief story. It feels like a full story. The characters are engaging. The circumstances, though not ideal (immoral) and let's face it, are incredibly hawt, still makes for a quick & compelling read.
I think I've been introduced to a new author that I could possible fall in love with.. We'll see.
I'm reading book 2 of this series right now,

I was in need of mindless, insta-rewarding smut. I wasn't disappointed. I particularly liked the reverse somno 🔥🔥
Road trips are great for forced proximity and small space tension and I think this used it well for being such a short novella.
Warning: This has infidelity. Hero drunk-married the heroine's mom. He's been looking to get it annulled before he meets the heroine (who he didn't know existed until after the marriage because that's how shitty the mom is) and after he's with her, he's actively trying to make it happen.

Twisted and Utterly Addictive
This was my first book by B. Sobjakken, and I already know it won’t be my last. I was in the mood for something intense, provocative, and emotionally messy—and this story gave me exactly that.
At the heart of the book is a complicated and forbidden relationship between a stepfather and his stepdaughter—but the deeper you go, the more you realize how complex and blurred those titles really are. Their connection is chaotic, full of tension, and impossible to look away from.
The writing style is straightforward and easy to follow, which made it super readable. The dual POV—from Sophie and Wyatt—really adds depth and helps you understand the push and pull between them. You’re constantly asking yourself, “Should I be enjoying this?” and yet... you absolutely are.
Funny side note: when I first saw the name “Wyatt,” I was totally stumped on how to pronounce it. English isn’t my first language, so it took me a minute—but once I figured it out, I was all in.
It’s wild, it’s messy, and completely unhinged—but somehow, it works. If you're into stories that push boundaries and leave you asking “Did that really just happen?”—you'll be thoroughly entertained.

This little road trip will have you questioning everyone’s morals. It is a fun ride nevertheless. There are a number of instances where consent is completely absent. So if that’s something that’s a trigger for you, you may struggle with certain scenes.
Verging on Insta love and I was questioning the validity of their relationship, considering how it began.
“I don’t care if a piece of paper ties me to someone else. I’ll burn that paper and throw it in the trash.”
This is not for everyone and I’ve mixed feelings about some aspects, but enjoyed the story regardless.
