Another of Anne Brear's stories which tugs at the heartstrings! Her heroines are always feisty, and Catrina Davies faces adversity with courage. The sense of place is wonderfully wrought in this. That's one of the elements of her books I most enjoy. She brings Yorkshire life in the Victorian era alive.

Australian born AnneMarie Brear writes historical novels and modern romances and sometimes the odd short story, too. Her passions, apart from writing, are travelling, reading, researching historical eras and looking for inspiration for her next book.
