Ok, so I liked this installment of the Fairy Ponies much more than the first (Midnight Escape). The story was much more of a fast paced adventure and it didn't have any mean girls. Both of the kids got into this one (even though the oldest pretended he wasn't listening, but he totally was). They liked the underwater pony world and the search for the missing necklace. Looking forward to the next book in the series.
In this book Holly goes to the magical kingdom of fairy ponies and she is alerted to the magic necklace being taken by someone in the palace the queen and the guardians rush to chase after the culprit while Holly and puck go into the palace to find more clues. The see the culprit going into the river and puck sings the tune to bring someone to accompany them someone called Spray comes and takes them to the palace. They soon realise that it is cursed with tentacles which can trap anything and get away immediately with the help of spray the water pony. They got to a little island above the shore and puck and Holly soon realise that the culprits are there. They soon realise it’s the work of evil shadow and his gang and the quickly think of a plan to get the necklace back.(By using the necklaces power and granting a wish) They retrieve it and are able to give it back to the queen safely and the queen hosts a party.🎉

Miss 4 just ADORED this. It's one of the longest chapter books we've read so far. She got a bit bored on the pages that had no pictures, but those last two chapters! She got so into it and kept gasping at all the right places. She's still a little too little for any more of these right now, they are just a bit long, but next year! look out!
Zanna Davidson's Fairy Ponies series ticks all the boxes: compelling, fast-paced stories with wonderful illustrations and a beautiful hard-cover format with a ribbon bookmark. My daughter can't get enough!
I enjoyed this and Past Meghan would have been all over this. Characters have more depth than expected from the cover/description and there's definitely an element of danger (caught by tentacles underwater); 2nd book in series but was fine as read alone
We were on the last chapter of this book tonight when my four year old boy leaned over and whispered in my ear "I have a secret for you. I love this book"
