This is a great introduction to Oxford to anyone visiting or it’s a fact-filled souvenir to remember a visit by. Organized by college, it describes some of the highlights of the colleges of Oxford including their history, notable students and faculty, their chapels, dining halls, and architecture. My favourite part was the glossary on the back page that defines Oxford words like ‘Don’ and ‘Rustication’. It really helps you get a feel for the culture and the character of Oxford. I can see this being a useful supplement if you're reading a novel about Oxford too, like Brideshead Revisited. Short, well-illustrated, and full of great information about this renowned seat of learning.
