That zombie tho(not zombies) that was really funny my auntie says what are you laughing at I told her the story and she said and I quote”that sounds sh#t” I just said you had to be there and I was there I’m there every step of the way Really not liking the fort bits anymore even tho they are part of my life now
This serious never fails. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll plan your own zombie outbreak strategy. The characters are your friends, your enemies, and its set in England so relatable to us brits. But honestly, if your upto book 30 you know how good this series is! ☆☆☆☆☆
Following the previous book’s crescendo, this book starts with a series of seismic events and continues at that pace. Once again, the story feels like it is forming future story strands whilst chugging on, but never does it read sluggishly or bores you in any way. There is a fort element again, which never used to interest me but for me, this strand is tighter and more interesting now. Howie’s element of the story remains stunning and fascinating, again whilst re-introducing older characters from previous books. It’s clear that there will be significant set pieces ahead, but this is a very readable interluding segment.
So much for me prioritising longer books this year, because I am just flying through this series at the moment. Three books in as many days is a little ridiculous, but they’re short (and also I’m obsessed).
An emotional start after the cliffhanger of the last book. This one goes back and forth between Howie’s group and the Fort. Great to meet some new characters, and some dark developments with some of the established ones.
I didn’t find the fight scenes as engaging as usual, but not every fight (or book) has to be outstanding. As always, excited for the next part!
“I had something to say but I don’t know what it was” 😭
Every instalment makes me love these characters more, and every time I get to the end of a book I want the next one. RR Haywood, you have me laughing out loud on the train, then wiping a tear minutes later (and I'm a middle aged tough guy - ok, middle aged guy). I want to know how the story ends, but I want it to never end. Impatiently awaiting my next fix of this wonderful drug.
Amazing! I love the undead series and season 5 hasn't disappointed. So glad this came out the day after the previous book, don't think I'd have coped waiting 😅
The audible version will join my collection too when released!
I have found all of Richs' books fab, fave author!
Not one for hyperbole. Awesome is so overused, usually for the most mundane. The man Mr Haywood is a genius. It's a roller coaster of a read. It's the best series ever. Laughed hard, got sand in my eyes and made them leak, felt frustration, anger and hatred. Do yourself a favour and read this series, in fact, read all his books, do it.
I love this series!!! It’s a must read if you like post apocalyptic “living challenged” (aka zombie) stories! This series will make you laugh out loud and you’ll also have to hold back tears or maybe just cry. It’s an emotional roller coaster at times but that just makes the story even better! Anxiously waiting for the next book in the series!
How do you review book 30 of a series?! Recommend that everyone read the previous 29, of course! Wonderful as always, laughter tears and absolute immersion in the unfolding stories.
R R Haywood has a talent for writing new characters into his books that make you feel they have always been there from the start. Really enjoying the latest installment of the Undead and cant wait for the next!
Clever book Mr Haywood, Very clever! A rollercoaster of emotions, I'm wanting to hurt someone so cruel for their own gains, and I very much want to know about Winchester.
The Undead series is the best I have read and I read a lot. RR Haywood is a great writer and I cannot wait for Undead 31, I have read his other books which were very good, but this Undead is the best. Please hurry with more!
On my God, what is going on there, so many twists and turns, and all the characters getting stronger, even the new ones are well thought out and a welcome. Can't wait for the next day
Dear Lord! Do NOT do that to Dave. Ever! I love these books more than humanly possible, but Dave has to live, George must die and Charlie and Cookey must be a forever couple. I love these people. No negotiables...
We all need a Dave. Can't wait for the next instalment in this season. Although I appear to be reading these fine books far too quickly and as such will have to start from book 1 again once I smash through the next 2 episodes.
Well this was a busy time for the team but another day down. Things were busy at the Fort too. We're were all over the place but I liked it. I just don't like how the end left off but can't wait to see what's next.
That’s been a fecking wild ride! Had no clue where Mr H was going to bring us after The Heat, but so not disappointed. You’ll be left gasping for another few thousand pages though!
Another romp in the apocalyptic post pandemic world of Howie, Dave and co. Nothing hugely new in the plot line but still enjoyable and aust read for fans. Over too quickly?
Another Gripping instalment of a really fantastic series . I was late to the party and have only recently found this series . I have had lots of lost sleep because once you start to read this series you won't be able to put it down .
The mix of banter and side stories within the main one is just the right amount. All of them keep you wanting to know more, from when is the main plot going to continue, to going back and wondering if that side story is going to play out.
What a relief! Re:#29. Once again, RR Haywood has taken me on a roller coaster of a ride. These books just keep getting better. I hope this series never ends. Best books ever
