Um so I love the message of story and it has some super cute details but I just can't with the illustrations. Maybe it's because she's an Italian illustrator and I don't get finer European things? I just don't think this would be a good fit for a lot of kids. Creepy stuff!

This book was not at all what I was expecting, but I really liked it. I enjoyed the illustrations that went along with the story. I would use this in first, second, and third grades. It could be used to teach a lesson on not always getting what you want and the importance of a book and all it can do. It can also teach children not to be materialistic in a way, which is a bigger issue in todays society.

This book was not at all what I was thinking. I am glad I read it because I really enjoyed it. This book could be used for first through third grade. It could be used to teach children to be grateful for the gifts that they receive. It also can be used to encourage students to read more books.
