Johnny Gruelle was an American artist, political cartoonist, children's book author and illustrator (and even songwriter). He is known as the creator of Raggedy Ann and Raggedy Andy. He had such confidence in his design that often he would create the final ink work without first sketching in pencil.

These are non-sensical stories with whimsy and adventure. My kids loved it (as a read aloud)… I struggled to get through it. I won’t read it again, but thought it was worth reading through once.

[Sorry for my bad English] For a children's book, it gives what children need and want. If you're older than 10, this book might not be suitable anymore.

It's so sad that I'm not below 8 anymore, so I kind of skipped to the end directly after halfway through the book. If I read it when I was 7, I probably would always reread it before going to bed!

Can you spell boring? I can! That's basically how this book reads, and so many words are repeated and the stories almost start to feel the same. Classic or not, I just could not finish it!
