This book on officiating is published by the American Sport Education Program (ASEP). ASEP works to provide broad and basic information to all those interested in improving the sport experience of young people. This book is an excellent primer for those joining the officating ranks. One strength of this book is the inclusion of numerous illustrations which help drive home particular points. The book is not aimed at any particular sport but is a broad approach to officating in general. Chapters are organized around philosophy, psychology, fitness, and professional responsibilities.
