Loved this story. It’s well written and very entertaining. Hunter and Ivy don’t have a great first meeting but things quickly change for the better. The never ending danger is still present and carries over into the next book that is coming. The H/h roles in this story have a strong presence along with several secondary characters who add to the story. It’s action packed and never knowing what is going to happen next. Definitely a story worth reading. Along with the other stories in this series.

This is book two of the Bad Bo Ranch series and Ivy Gracey is called back to her home by her sister Meadow, who tells her their father has had a heart attack. She had left the family ranch after a series of losses, first their mother, then her older brother, Forest, had become too much. She had spent months travelling around Europe, living off her father’s credit card and enjoying herself, until it was cut short suddenly. She has a few issues when her credit card won’t work and that leads to some discoveries once she gets home. Her sister Meadow has been left home alone to deal with all the issues, but hasn’t told her what has been happening and the danger she had been in! Hunter Hart was trying to drown himself in alcohol after finally being discharged from hospital in Germany, after the injury which almost cost him a leg, and the mission that killed most of his SEAL team. He can’t go back to the job he thought he would have for life and is glad when a fellow SEAL, Colton, calls him and asks him to come to a ranch where he is working security, after some nasty things have been happening.
Ivy and Hunter meet on a plane back to the US, ending up sitting across the aisle from each other and he thinks she is a high maintenance princess from listening in to her drinks order and her conversation with the passenger next to him. What he didn’t know, as he tried to get away from her once they landed, was that she was the sister of his fallen friend and fellow SEAL and also the daughter of the owner of the ranch he is to work on! Colton is dating Meadow, and has come with her to pick up Hunter and Ivy. Colton informs Hunter of what has been happening, with one of Meadow’s horses being killed, then an attempt to kidnap Meadow being thwarted, but leaving a ranch hand missing. He needs Hunter’s help with security on the ranch, but also expect him to do some general ranch work as well. Colton is clearly in love with Meadow and is keeping a very close eye on her personal safety, never letting her out of his sight. Now it seems, Hunter is going to have to watch over Ivy, as more danger comes to the ranch.
He finds it even harder as he starts to know the real Ivy, rather than what he thought of her from first meeting, and tension rises between the two of them! Ivy was at a bit of a lose end on the ranch, not knowing what to really do, so starts to sort out the paperwork in her father’s office, the memory of the cancelled credit card at the back of her mind. She finds out some shocking details about the ranch finances and what problems her father has created, which may have been partly responsible for his heart attack. More danger is coming for those at the ranch and it seems Ivy may well be the next easy target, especially when she doesn’t follow Hunter’s rules that were there to keep her safe! Hunter will realise just how much she means to him and how much he needs her in his life, when she goes missing. It will be up to Colton and Hunter to put matters right, but there will still be a lot to sort out once her father returns to the ranch. A little touch of dominance in a romance that evolves between two opposites, who have both been affected by loss.

Ivy Gracey has been in Europe traveling for the last nine months. She has been videotaping her travels and doing a blog. She is grieving for her brother Forest, who died in a special ops mission. Her brother’s death also brought up all her feelings about her mother’s death which was years prior. Now, there is only Ivy, her sister Meadow and her father. Ivy gets a call from Meadow. Their father had a heart attack. Meadow needs Ivy to come home to their ranch in Montana. Ivy tries to use her credit card, but it is declined. It is one that her father told her to use on her travels. So, Ivy sells some of things she had bought. The only flight Ivy can get to Montana is out of Germany.
Hunter Hart is a Navy SEAL. His unit was on a special ops mission when everything went wrong. They lost three of their team members and Hunter ended up in a German hospital with a severe leg injury. His military career is now over. His friend and teammate, Colton, promised Forest, who died in the mission, that he would go to Montana, help on the Gracey Ranch and take care of Forest’s family. Colton has now asked Hunter to come to Montana to help him because there are some major security issues.
So, Hunter is on a flight from Germany to Montana and across the aisle from him is an attractive woman. He thinks she is cute but from the way she is talking to the guy next to her, Hunter thinks she is a spoiled princess. Hunter does not know that the girl across the aisle is Ivy Gracey, his buddy Forest’s little sister. Ivy thinks the guy across the aisle from her is military. She is annoyed that he keeps rolling his eyes while she is talking about her travels through Europe. She can’t get away from him quick enough when the flight lands. Little does she know that the guy is one of Forest’s teammates and he is coming to the ranch with her.
Ivy and Hunter are quite the pair. It was funny that they butted heads from the beginning. Another good action packed story with a romantic twist.

Navy SEAL Hunter Hart (Sharps) has answered his brother-in-arms buddy Colton Nox’s call for assistance. No one knew how bad and dangerous it was on the Gracey Ranch in Montana. Thank God Colton and now Hunter are here to protect their lost friend Forest’s sisters, Meadow and Ivy. In book 1, Reckless Promise, Colton comes to help save the ranch at the request of his former teammate, now-deceased Forest Gracey and falls madly in love with Meadow. The mystery continues to build though, and more help is needed. Hunter, a fellow teammate, comes to help Colton and that’s perfect timing because Hunter was injured badly in their last mission, a deadly failed mission and Hunter is floundering in a German hospital. Well, Hunter has a purpose now and that would be the beautiful, feisty, independent, mouthy, and spoiled daughter, Ivy. Everything started going downhill after the girl’s mom died. Dad Sean withdrew into himself and then when Forest lost his life Dad became secretive ignoring his girls. Ivy took off for a European adventure while Meadow was left home alone floundering. The tension and secrecy finally got to Dad and he had a massive heart attack so Ivy was called home. Something sinister is going on at the ranch and now the girls have become targets. Hunter fights his feelings for Ivy until he finally has to step in and “correct” Ivy’s reckless behavior. That’s it…she…is…his. Hunter’s attention and love have greatly comforted Ivy.
I see a wedding coming. In the next story, even more, help is on the way because people have died, money’s missing and the danger is mounting. When his teammate Colton reaches out and offers him a position at the Montana ranch he's working at, he's happy to join forces, especially when told about the recent threats to the ranch.
Ivy is the ranch princess and youngest daughter. She also happens to be the youngest sister of Hunter's best friend Forest. Since losing her mom, she's spent the majority of her life alone, never having to take on responsibility at the ranch. Cruel Expectations has everything that I've come to expect and enjoy from an Em Petrova novel. The plot is full of suspense, characters are well developed and likable, and the sexual chemistry is palpable. Definitely a must read! I'm eagerly awaiting Carver and Livia's story next!.

Book 2 of Bad Boy Ranch Series, Cruel Expectations has another SEAL brother Hunter showing up at the airport on the same flight; (per the request for help from Colton); as Ivy, Foster and Meadow’s little sister. Ivy and Hunter have already met but not really. Ivy has been traveling through Europe since Foster’s death but summoned home due to her fathers massive heart attack, surgery and touch and go outcome. Her and Hunter have some interaction on the flight that you really can’t call friendly; so when they discover they are going to the same place they are not pleased! It doesn’t take long for Hunter to get back into his SEAL Protector persona that he takes seriously. Not long after Ivy gets settled she starts digging into dads office to see if she can figure anything out as to what is behind all the horrible happenings going on at the Ranch, the animals, workers, and Meadow. Lots of activity, finding out information, Ivy getting kidnapped, roughed up, Hunter and Colton find her and take care of the situation. Meadow and Ivy’s dad comes home from the hospital. Will Ivy confront him about what she found in his paperwork? Will they all be able to bring the Ranch around and make it prosper? An excellent story. I would recommend reading book one, it is not a must but I believe it would be easier to get right into book two without confusion. Looking forward to Book 3 Vicious Sabotage. I couldn't put it down!
This is book 2 on the new series Bd Boy Ranch which ties into West Protection. You're never sure with a new series until you read the first 2 books to really get a feel for where the author is going. This one is another winner for Em.
Hunter comes at his friend Colton's request knowing that it may be the only thing to save him. The guilt and weight of his lost unit weighs more and more on him. He would do what he could to help. He never expected her and he never expected his first impression to be so wrong.
Ivy is finally coming home due to her father's illness. It's time to face the past and the only family she has left. Returning home turns out to be the easy part trying to determine what is really happening at the ranch is quite dangerous.
The hot snarky man she met on the plane is the same one that came to help. They are both struggling with the past and finding a deep and strong desire for each other. Can they heal each other in time to fight the enemy that is coming for them?
Hunter and Ivy are a great read. They bring out all the feelings along the way. I love the underling danger that is follow through all the books. I can't wait for the next installment.

Great Second Book
Hunter comes to the ranch to help Colton after being discharged from the service. He was injured in the same accident that Colton and Forest were. Hunter meets Ivy, Meadow and Forest's younger sister on the plane going to the States from Germany. Ivy has been in Europe trying to find herself after Forest's death. When Meadow finally gets in touch with her about their father's heart attack, she decides to go home right away. Things aren't right since her credit card was denied but being resourceful, she sells some of her things to get cash for the plane ticket. Hunter is sitting across from her on the plane and thinks she's a spoiled rich girl. She doesn't have a high opinion of him either. When they land, they find out that they are going to the same place when Colton and Meadow pick them up at the airport. When Ivy goes to the bar in town and gets hit on, Hunter comes to her defense and she didn't like it. Their hate for each other turns into attraction. His need to protect her from the danger that's at the ranch really doesn't set well with her. But eventually, she sees things in a different light when she finds out that the ranch isn't financially stable and her father has been gambling and is in debt to a loan shark who has come to collect. I like this series and I'm looking forward to the next book. I borrowed this book from Kindle Unlimited.

Love this group and Hunter and Ivy are so strong together. Hunter and Colton, along with Forest who died during a mission, were a tight group in the military. When Colton asks for Hunter's help in protecting a ranch and the sisters of Forest, he doesn't hesitate. First impressions are the worst for Ivy and Hunter, but once back at the ranch, that quickly changes as the threats and events grow stronger. The characters are so detailed and feel like you have known them for a long time. The storyline is believable with trusted ranch hands, a group of loan sharks and a father in the hospital. A strong relationship builds and the two feel like someone sees them and wants them for who they are inside, which makes you root for them even more. Loved the sassy banter and the great friends they have. I don't know if the author can beat this story, but definitely going to find out. Might be a few more problems out there to tackle and now they have one more of their team with them.

Cruel Expectations is Book 2 of the Bad Boy Ranch series. The wild ride continues. This is another steamy, instalust, age-gap, opposites-attract, girl gets her hunky protector romance with a bit of mystery and suspense thrown in. The danger on the ranch continues. Colton (Book 1) has asked his friend Hunter to come help at the ranch. Hunter is ex-military also and still has a lot of guilt and remorse over loss of the unit, including Forest. Ivy, the youngest sister and sassy spitfire, has returned due to dad's poor health. Her and Hunter get off to a very rocky start, but the attraction is there. Hunter finally has it with her brattiness and puts his foot down, realizing she is his. Both, though clearly have made poor assumptions about each other that are not true. The snarky and flirty banter is hysterical. The sexy times and chemistry are explosive, and we get a happy for now ending with the danger and mystery continuing. I am looking forward to the next installment.

A book in the series that you have to read in order - more questions with unknown answers swirl in this book that keep you trying to figure things out. Being introduced from the previous book in this series, Hunter and Ivy soon connect and try to figure out what has Ivy’s father got them involved with and how to make things right. Lots of surprised sex and angst involved with the characters - lots of questions. A real reader that keeps you on the edge of your seat wondering what is going on! Enter another ex-SEAL friend, Carver Wolfe, who enters the mystery to help them answer the questions and also for Wolfe to meet the woman of his dreams and how she gets involved with the story. A great read that has you waiting for the next book in the series to drop so that you can get more questions. resolved. Great addition to the series that when it finally ends you will read it from the start to finish again. I received an ARC of this book from Booksprout and voluntarily chose to review.

This is a great series and a great book 2. Ivy, the youngest Foster, coped with her brother's death while serving his country, by traveling away from her family through Europe. But when sister Meadow tells her their father has had a massive heart attack, she returns home. On her flight is an arrogant hotty, Hunter, and their interaction is less than great. But Hunter was on her brother's SEAL Team and survived the attack that killed her brother. He promised he would help his slain friend's family. Hunter and Ivy soon discover there is more to each other than a grumpy guy and a flighty blonde. He and Colton (Meadow's love) will do all it takes to protect the ranch and these women. Great characters, well-paced read, sizzle, steam, action, and more. This was a great book 2 and I can't wait for more.

This is Book 2 in the series and I do reccomend reading them In order as there is an arch plot and all the characters are in both books! Hunter is ex military and survived a mission in which many of his brothers in arms did not including his Best friend. He suffers from survivors guilt and so when he gets a last wish Request from his deceased best friend to go to his family’s ranch and help them he doesn’t hesitate. Hunter is a natural protector and no stranger to hard work so it’s a no brainer but what he doesn’t anticipate is Ivy… the spark is instant and their chemistry is intense but as their feelings grow so do the dangers on the ranch , can they survive all the obstacles and find their HEA ? I highly reccomend this series ! Em Petrova is an amazing writer and really pulls you in with the characters and keeps you on the edge of your seat for what’s next!.

If Em Petrova continues on this path, she will gain the title "Queen of HFN". I am so engaged in the story, I just didn't see I'm nearing the end of this episode!
Hunter is called in to assist Colton in safeguarding the Gracey sisters as they figure out who is behind the attacks on the Gracey Ranch. When Ivy returns from Europe after hearing her father is in hospital, she is surprised that a traveler was destined to become her forever love.
Between all the smexy scenes, we catch up drinking at Badlands and trying to find leads as well as helping on the ranch. As there are only two sisters, I thought this would be a duet, but looking at the series name again, it is all about the boys and I can't wait to learn more about Carver. Bring on the Bad Boys!

Between all the smexy scenes, we catch up drinking at Badlands and trying to find leads as well as helping on the ranch. As there are only two sisters, I thought this would be a duet, but looking at the series name again, it is all about the boys and I can't wait to learn more about Carver. Bring on the Bad Boys!

This is already turning out to be another great series by this author! Ivy has been travelling through Europe after her brother’s death but returns home when her sister lets her know their Dad has had a massive heart attack. Although she and Hunter meet on the plane, it definitely isn’t love at first sight, or anything close since they butt heads immediately. But Hunter was on her brother’s Seal Team and survived the attack that killed her brother. And Hunter takes protecting his brother-in-arms family very seriously. It doesn’t take long for Ivy and Hunter to realize that their first impressions of each other aren’t exactly accurate. And when Ivy starts digging to see if she can discover what is behind the issues on the ranch, what she finds is trouble and Hunter is there to protect her. This was a great read!

Home turns out not to be the safe haven it should be with unseen men breaking onto the property, killing livestock and attempting to kidnap Meadow, Ivy's sister.
Can Hunter and his friend, Colton keep their women safe and discover the identity of the unknown assailants?
A superb addition to this series following an uber alpha, over protective man claiming his woman.

WOW! Edge of your chair action and drama Ivy makes it's home from Europe. Plus, she happened to arrive on the same international flight as Hunter, the new ranch hand/guard, and good friend to Colton. Sparks flew the moment Ivy and Hunter met. They entirely misjudged each other on the flight and during their first few days on the ranch. Finally, they began to see each other as they truly were and began getting along. Ivy started working in her father's office to see if she could put any puzzle pieces together there. She had trouble following the rules of not going anywhere without someone with her. She refused to believe danger was around every corner.

Arriving in Montana and seeing his buddy, he is surprised that the irritating young women, is the sister of his friend’s girlfriend. A great addition to this series with surprises, secrets that come to the surface and chemistry between the h and H. The characters are strong, feisty and independent . Love this author and try not to miss any of her books.

This was just the best book. I loved Hunter and Ivy.
Called back to the home ranch after her father is taken sick, Ivy meets ex Seal Hunter on the same flight and finds out unhappily that they are going to the same place.
Load of action, drama and suspense, with a great mystery of who was behind all the things happening around the ranch. But best of all is the sweet romance building between enemies Hunter and Ivy. Both built on misconceptions about each other.
Very well done, this book had all the facets I love in a great novel and then some. I can't wait for the next in the series.

Second in series and although not necessary, I recommend reading book 1 due to the arcing plot. Ivy is the youngest in the family and has been pampered and allowed to spend the last year traveling Europe. Hunter was on the same special ops team as her brother and has been asked to help out on the ranch when things go sideways. Ivy is not my favorite FMC, the spoiled princess routine just doesn't work for me, and although she redeemed herself in the end, it was too late. Hunter was your typical alpha male and in my opinion, tolerated too much from Ivy. The was a fast paced, action packed romance with plenty of steam, I just didn't care for the characters in this one.

I loved Cruel Expectations Book 2 of Bad Boy Ranch. Hunter can’t believe the entitled princess he met, she’s nothing he would ever want. Ivy is coming home when she finds out her father had a heart attack. She knew something was wrong when her credit card declined. What are the odds Hunter was her fallen brother’s best friend and he’s going to her family ranch. They are like oil and water until Hunter realizes he read Ivy all wrong. They grow closer but the danger is lurking, they aren’t sure what the danger really is from. I loved the storyline and the characters. This story had lots of drama, suspense and steamy scenes. I would definitely recommend this book and the series.

I love the story. Action and suspense. Hunter is a former Navy Seal and is struggling with survivors guilt and is drowning his sorrows. He decides he needs a change and to get out of the funk he's in. He is asked to come help on the ranch of his best friend that did not survive. He meets Ivy on the plane and he's not impressed by her and she's not impressed with him. She is angry when she finds out that he is staying at her family ranch. Her father is in the hospital after suffering a heart attack and as she goes through the finances, she finds problems. Will that help figure out what the disturbances on the ranch are about? A great story.

There is still danger on the Gacey Ranch we are involved in with this story, but we don't get all the answers, yet. Hunter gets a call from his buddy Colton and of course, he agrees to come when his brother in arms calls. What he thought would be a pleasant and relaxing flight for him from Germany is disrupted by a beautiful but annoying beauty who sits across him on the plane. When Ivy sees her sister waiting for her in the Airport, she is excited but then the "brute" from the plane seems to be following her. Hunter and Ivy have a sexual chemistry that soon combusts into their HEA. As I sated, the danger continues in the next Bad Boy ranch series.

Before reading this book, I would read book 1 Ruthless Promise as there is a continuing storyline and mystery also this book ends with the mystery still unsolved. Ivy is thought to be a spoiled rich girl by the man who was asked by her brother and another friend to protect her. He may discover that that assumption is wrong the more he is around her. She has been called home because of her father's health and she soon learns that strange events have been happening on her family's farm. Ivy and her sister and their Alpha protectors try to figure out what is going on. I just love big, strong, military, Alpha males. I can't wait until the next book in the series.

Loved this book! Ivy was a great character. As the youngest, her family’s expectations were low, but she had so much to offer. Hunter gets the absolute wrong impression of her from their first encounter. He was struggling since he was injured in the line of duty, and when he got the call to help out at the ranch, he came right away. Together, they made some interesting discoveries about what was going on at the ranch, and soon they gave in to the attraction between them. I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book!.

I liked this story right from the start. Ivy is an independent, sometimes devil may care woman who is on a trip around Europe. She suddenly had to return home when her father is taken ill. On the plane journey home she crosses the path of the man who will eventually mean everything to her, Hunter finds her very annoying and prissy to start off with but once he gets to know her, well……. There’s trouble at the ranch and he needs to assist Colton in finding out what’s going on. A well written, thrilling story.

Second book in this series set on Gracey Ranch in Montana in the first book we met Colton as he fell for the sister of his fallen teammate and took up residence on the ranch with Meadow now things are deteriorating and he needs help to protect the girls and the ranch so he calls in injured teammate Hunter answers the call from his hospital bed in Germany This is just what he needs a reason to start fighting to live again and when he meets Ivy he has another reason even if he has to stop her self destructive behaviour. Now looking forward to the next book in the series as another team member joins the fight to find out exactly what is going on.

Jump into a suspense filled story, with secrets galore. First impressions are sometimes right, the banter while both first deny there is an attraction make me laugh. For Hunter and Ivy those first impressions are so off base as they find together healing and security they both have been missing.
Danger is knocking at the door and as secrets are revealed tensions are high. The electricity between Ivy and Hunter explode, the characters pop off the page and as this mystery moves from book to book, I'm anxious for more.
