The Wizard’s Gift starts off with an ancient wizard leaving a gift to the men (and women) of the region where he lived. Telling the King of the area that the battle-ax was a good luck talisman, the wizard goes off to die in an enchanted land. The people with whom the battle-ax (and a few books) were left with came to revere and worship the gift. All was well for centuries until one of the priests of The Wizard’s Gift decides to sell out his people to a wizard king. It is there where the story be ...more

Before he dies, the last wizard gifts the new race of men a powerful gift. That gift is protected throughout the years by the king. But there are some that believe the gift will grant them power. They decide to kill the current king and priest, steal the gift, and plan on using the gift. But research has lead a priest to think that the gift will bring about the end of the world as they know it. We follow the new king, Caran Tuith, the priest Carantor and others as they travel to save their world ...more

This is a unique and entertaining read with magic, action, and adventure. The characters are interesting and grow and mature through their journey. The book moved a little slow for me in places, but was an overall good read. I like strong world-building, but if the writer curbed some of the detail, it would improve the pace.

The gift is prized highly and the priests look after until it is stolen. A young priest, a young king and a guard to and look for it. The gift is not what it seems. What danger does it hold? Will they be able to find it? See how they get on

I really enjoyed reading this book, I've never really read much of the Fantasy Genre before and I think that this was a good start to it. The premise was amazing but the plot was kind of slow-paced and at times, overly detailed. The characters were so well-developed and were basically added onto that long list of characters that I adore. The writing style was really eloquent and beautiful but at times, I found the fancy words really difficult to follow.

The premise of this novel was perfection! Y

First, I would like to thank the author Michael Waller for giving me this book for an honest review. I enjoyed reading this book, the story-line was good but slow at times. The world building was nicely done. The characters are well developed and written. I look forward to reading more from this author.
