Một quyển sách hữu ích cho những ai muốn có cái nhìn tổng quan về các kỹ thuật và dụng cụ sáng tạo nghệ thuật. Sách đề cập đến rất nhiều, hầu như tất cả, kỹ thuật và vật liệu cho các thực hành nghệ thuật (hội hoạ, điêu khắc, gốm sứ, thủy tinh,…) theo cách trình bày ngắn gọn, cô đọng dựa theo các ý chính và từ khoá. Vì vậy, với những ai muốn có cách tiếp cận tổng quát và đối chiếu các kỹ thuật như vẽ than, chì, phấn, màu nước, sơn dầu,… thì đây là quyển sách phù hợp, nhưng sẽ không đi vào chuyên môn hoặc lịch sử sâu cho những ai muốn nghiên cứu cụ thể hơn.
Cá nhân mình thấy sách là quyển cẩm nang tra cứu rất ổn và công phu, minh hoạ đẹp, giải thích ngắn gọn, rõ ràng, cách viết có phương pháp sư phạm. Đây như là một quyển từ điển về kỹ thuật các loại hình nghệ thuật vậy, phù hợp cho nhiều độc giả và lứa tuổi.
