Follow the journey of The Morningstar Diaries: Ava as the story continues in Lucifer's own words. The ruler of the Cyrillian angels finally has his family together and his queen by his side. But when Ava's body begins weakening under her new powers, Lucifer is confronted with a choice; separate his soul from the woman he loves and regain immortality, or die with her and leave humanity to the true fallen angel. As The Seraphim race against time to find The Grail Sword, the choice between love and duty hangs in the balance.
Didn't want to put this book down. Glad there was answers from the last book! :) Didn't want to stop reading! This book will make you laugh & the end will make you cry! I can't wait for the next book in this series! Great characters & story line!!! Awesome job Lydia!
Once I began reading Lucifer's follow-up to Ava's story, I didn't want to put it down. Luckily with little over a hundred pages to get through, it went quickly.
As with the first installment, there were editing issues. And again the only thing keeping me from giving this book a five-star rating is the need for an editor. There were spots in the story I felt could have been expanded, and I'm certain an editor would have pushed for such, but I am not unhappy with what I did get to read.
**********SPOILERS AHEAD**********
Drace, once again, gave vivid and fantastic descriptions of unseen lands and beings, continually drawing pictures in the mind. Druids and their elemental forms, a beautiful snowy landscape, and the Seven Circles of Hell, are all imaged in great detail.
When Tyler first meets the Druid Princess Abaigael, you know he's hooked much like his father was to Ava when she was young. After learning from Azriel that Ava was made specifically for Lucifer, that her soul will never truly connect with another, we begin to see that they would have come together eventually even if Abaddon hadn't made an attempt on her life. It seems it could be much the same for Tyler and Abby as well as Uriel and Jenny.
When it was realized that Ava's connection to Hell and her developing powers were slowly killing her, it took an immediate strike to my emotions. These two belong together. They're so loving when they are together. They had been separated for so long to give their son as much of a human experience as possible and now after only a couple of years as a family, they were doomed to be pulled apart by death. Or are they...?
Now that Tyler is King, what will his story bring? Will he be allowed to check on their souls? Are they truly dead or lying dormant by some divine plan of God's making?
I can't wait to see what happens next! Alas, I must.
Side note: Most don't appreciate when an author doesn't offer an HEA (Happily Ever After) at the end of a book. I happen to believe it is within an author's right to do what they wish, afterall it is their story to tell. I applaud Drace for "going against the grain."
First of, WOW! As the story picked up from the last book, I loved seeing things said from Lucifer's perspective. The comparison between Ava and Lucifer, in their ideals, and what they believe to be the most important item at hand, is interesting to experience. Learning of Lucifer's inner struggles, which were not openly voiced in the first book, made me, the reader, realize just how delicate the balance is and how thin the edge of the blade is, that he is walking on.
As the characters further develop, from being already so very unique, I found myself laughing harder, crying more, and relating with them on a much higher level. I honestly wish that this book had been longer. Everything happened so fast, and there were parts that I think could have had a little bit more to them. I was hooked none-the-less and couldn't put this book down until I finished. If you are planning a third addition to this series, I would most certainly read it! :)
Lucifer Book 2 of the Morningstar Diaries Series is from Lucifer's POV, (point of view). We pick up where Ava, Book 1 left off, with Ava and Tyler morning the loss of their good friend Steven, and Abaddon loose terrorizing humans everywhere. If you remember from book one, Abaddon is trying to kill Lucifer and take over Hell. With Abaddon coming across as indestructible, Lucifer and his family are desperately seeking a sword, that will theoretically end Abaddon once and for all. The race begins!
Every year I seem to have a track record of having one book that I deeply connect with on an emotional level that brings me to my knees. This book is one of them. The deep emotional connection that I develop with certain books is so rare that I can tell you each book, and that this is the third one in existence. Let me back track a minute to explain. In the first book Ava, the story appeared to have started in the middle of an existing relationship, and moved forward from there. I felt totally disconnected to the characters because of this, and felt like I was missing a big chunk of the story. However, by the end of the book, the story line had pulled me in just enough to bring me back to read the second one. After a long grueling year for me personally, I open Lucifer and experience a very terrifying and eye opening emotional roller coaster.
Now that I know the characters, I finally connect with them on an emotional level as Lucifer describes his journey with Ava, and how profoundly she has changed his life. Just as I finally seal the bond with this family, it is all ripped away in an instant! I thought I was sure I knew how the story would end but then author gave me the middle finger and ran laughing a maniacal, evil laugh! I, as the reader, have experienced a new love between Tyler and Abagail, also with Jenny and Uriel. With their future heading in a new direction, Tyler has been introduced to some of Lucifer's responsibilities and duties as the King of Hell, since Tyler is the heir to the throne. The battle between good and evil gets really intense, along with the dire changes Ava seems to be going through. Will Lucifer be able to take Abaddon down before he kills everyone he loves, or will evil win world domination? Dun dun dun.... Will Tyler step up to the plate when it counts? Does Jenny stop treating Uriel like a douche? Stay tuned to find out, because it's one hellova ride! **Book provided by the author for an honest review**
Wow Cliffhanger! The race to find the Jade book and the sword is on. All the same main characters are back to continue the fight against Abaddon while attempting to resume a normal life. Each character is faced with challenges as they try to gain their strength and save those they love.
Lydia introduces you to a bit more history, as well as the Druids in this book. An elemental civilization in England. The description of them was absolutely breath taking!
A few action scenes this book is more about the preparation for the final battle to obliterate Abaddon while learning more about Ava, Lucifer, and Tyler.
This book finishes on a cliffhanger of sorts, as you will be anxious for book 3 set to publish later this year.
Wow. Just wow. I loved reading the perspective from Lucifer. You could tell that his human half was struggling with many decisions and trying to figure out what is best for his family. I laughed and cried both tears of joy and tears of sadness. I was glad for some answers that I wondered about in Ava's book but ultimately, I ended the book wondering why? I have never read a series like this and I must admit, I couldn't put it down. I hope that the answers to my questions will be answered soon. It's the first cliffhanger I have had in a while and I love it and hate it! I am impatiently waiting for the next book that I hope comes soon!!
i was given this book in exchange for an honest review. Holy cliffhanger batman!! I totally loved this book! This one is told from lucifers point of view and is after the events of book 1. he is struggling with his family being in danger along with trying to get tyler ready to be king of hell. read this series trust me you wont be disapppointex. I cannot wait to read book 3 from Tylers point of view!
I really liked this book, the author did a great job of offering her readers something completely fresh, while still hitting upon the time old tale of good vs evil. I liked the point of view change in the story, from Ava during the first book to Lucifer in the second book, a trick that when not done right can often leave the readers confused. Looking forward to the third book!
Ok .. Book 2 "Lucifer" ...O. M. Gosh! I thought the first book was great but book 2 was so much more intense!! I finished it in two sittings. I laughed.. I cried.. More than once!! It hooked me and I couldn't stop! Anxiously awaiting book 3!! Yay!! This one is 5 +stars!!
