Having learned that the emperor is rooting out forbidden magic, Shu Keigetsu and Kou Reirin return to the palace with the body swap still in place. Their next idea is to undo the switch during the Repose of Souls—until the emperor foils their plans yet again! He sends the Maidens to the kingdom's border to dish out food on a charity mission. Moreover, Reirin is assigned a particularly inhospitable area far from Keigetsu and the others! Can the girls make it through this ordeal without falling back on Keigetsu’s magic?

Another amazing volume. I love this series so much! I’m so happy it’s finally gotten an anime which is long overdue!

Seeing both Reirin and Keigetsu work so hard to overcome the emperor’s trap was awesome! I love how their small circle of trusted allies has just gotten bigger and bigger as the series goes on! And let’s be honest without everyone things wouldn’t have gone as smoothly this volume!

As a side note I LOVE a protective Keigetsu. Her rage at seeing Reirin in danger was amazing. I won’t lie I got teary eyed to see how much everyone cares about each other. The miracle comet to the rescue again! Not to say Reirin isn’t protective as well, she just has an easier time saying she’s protective so it means more to me to see it from Keigetsu.

Anyway I loved this and now I need to start volume 9 right away to see what happens next!
