This was a great read, told in dual first person POV and leaves you with a HEA.
I loved Dash and his love and respect for his mother. Even though he was upset that she wasn’t using his wedding venue to get remarried, he still helped and supported her. I loved that he fell for Serenity and fell hard. Although, I do wish he would’ve communicated with her better instead of just walking away, and wish he would’ve also fought harder for her instead of being afraid of confrontation.
I liked Serenity and her ability to think of solutions on the fly. She was actually very good at her job and I was glad she stood her ground when it came to her career. But she really got on my nerves. I understood her need to be strong and independent instead of dependent on a man, but I felt like she was very childish and definitely a diva with her reactions towards Dash.
Regardless, I enjoyed this book, and hope that some of the side characters get their own story. I was provided an advanced readers copy. These thoughts and opinions are my own.
This is a well written book with a kind of enemies to lovers storyline. The author brings strong characters in Serenity and Dash and takes you into their lives with forgiveness, trust and chemistry. He moves the story fluidly and delivers a terrific read.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and are freely given.
Serenity became the owner of an event planning business when she divorced her former husband. Dash is the son of her newest client. However, he is in event planning also and has to come to terms with someone else handling his mother’s wedding. Attraction builds between Serenity and Dash but her ex reappears. This story is appropriate for 18’s and over. I received an advanced copy (ARC) but no compensation for this review. I highly recommend this book and hope you will enjoy it also.
Dash St. Clair’s mother is getting married three years after his father’s death, and she is not going to use the St. Clair Wedding and Events company for their venue. Rather, she is handing the business to Serenity Halverson, who owns and manages Miracle in the Making Events company she was awarded in her recent divorce.
Their first encounter was less than cordial as they wrestled with each other’s approach to running the upcoming event while trying to avoid the sexual chemistry between them. With the paparazzi snooping around, they play it safe until they don’t, and wham, holy smokes, and wheeoh, they combust! But the specter of her ex-husband lurks as he tries to blackmail her into coming back into his life.
The toing and froing, back and forth, zigging and zagging between our couple and their nemesis is punctuated by glorious, steamy sex yet freckled with moments of fear, distrust, and misunderstandings. Luckily, Dash and Serenity have relatives and besties with good advice about maneuvering through rough, uncharted waters as they find their HEA. Kudos to Weston Parker for another wonderful romantic addition to his catalogue of beautifully written, crisp plotlines and wonderful characters! It had me at, “There were certain moments moments on your life that you never forgot.” And reading this book is one of them.
I received this book as an ARC reviewer and voluntarily leave my honest opinion.
i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the story of Serenity and Dash. Serenity is recently divorced and was awarded her husband's event planning business. Serenity is trying to make the business a success, especially because she is a former reality TV star and nobody takes her seriously. When Dash's mother announces she is getting remarried, she doesn't want to have Dash plan the wedding at the family's estate, which is famous for hosting weddings. She decides to ask Dash to help her plan it using Serenity's company. Dash is cranky and does't think Serenity is capable of handing the wedding planning. Serenity is attracted to Dash, but she finds his personality off putting. Dash thinks Serenity is just another spoiled reality star and doesn't like having to deal with her, even though he is very attracted to her. I really liked this book, i liked Dash. even though he was kind of mean and full of himself at first. I think Serenity surprised him and made him think about more than himself. There was a lot of issues facing the couple and sometimes i wondered how they would work things out. Another good one from Weston
Two complex characters, an angry ex-husband and a mother’s wedding to plan, it was a challenging time. Dash still coming to terms with his father passing away, gets involved in helping his mother organise her wedding with Serenity the wedding planner. You could understand why Dash felt it was a kick in the teeth to him considering he runs the family events business. Dash and Serenity have a turbulent time, especially when it comes to Serenity’s ex trying to blackmail her into returning to him. With Serenity being super sensitive due to her former relationship I lost count of the number of times that Dash messed up and had to apologise. The ex was certainly a vicious thorn in their side which explained why Serenity’s character. They got their HEA. I felt for Dash’s character, he didn’t seem to be able to get anything right in their relationship without Serenity having a sulk despite his best intentions. They got their HEA eventually but I felt like I’d been through the mill with them to get there.
This is a lovely enemies-ish to lovers HEA between competing wedding event planners, Serenity and Dash. Serenity is a TV star, who won her company in her ugly divorce from her ex. Dash has been in the business forever, and doesn't think that Serenity has the chops to be a real player in the space. That's all well and good, until his mom decides to get married, and chooses Serenity instead of her own family business! There are some really cool backstories in this book - a nice diversion from a typical HEA. Serenity's past is quite different, and absolutely believable. The other wonderful change is both of these people have their own money...it's less 'Cinderella' story and thus LESS about the money, and more about how do these two equally powerful people in their own right find a way to make a relationship work. Of course, ever story has it's share of drama, ups and downs, but overall, this was a really engaging book and wonderful diversion from reality! Huge thanks to the author for providing us with another great ending!
What a gorgeous love story, and no spoilers, but there is a wedding, but is there just one happy couple or more by the end? The wedding is that of widowed Diana St Clair. Three years after her husband passed she has found love with another man, Richard, they break it to her sons that they are getting married, and not everyone is happy, to add insult to injury she has arranged for reality TV star Serenity Halverston to be their wedding planner and for the wedding to be held at her wedding venue on Mother’s Day in about two months . As Diana’s family own an events company, where they often plan weddings, they have their own wedding venue and one of her sons, Dash, runs the company and is a wedding planner himself! Whereas this will be Serenity’s first event since she was awarded the company in her recent divorce from her abusive ex-husband. How could anything think this was going to go to plan and everything would run smoothly, the ups and downs in the journey to the wedding are a definite roller coaster! I received this book as an ARC and loved it!
Dash and Serenity are both wedding planners who meet when his mom decides to have Serenity plan her wedding. Dash first off isn’t happy that his mom is getting remarried and plus the fact that she isn’t using his venue. Dash and Serenity do not hit it off at first. He thinks she has no idea how to plan a wedding and plus she was on a reality show and he thinks she did it for the fame. That is far from the case. Serenity has been through several things in her life and is just recently divorced from her ex-Ethan. Dash will soon see a different side of her that will draw him closer to her. Will she fall for him during the time they spend together planning his mother’s wedding? Well written book with great characters. We really see Dash transform from “Mr. Grumpy” into a sweet romantic. We have the drama of the ex-husband and how he has really done a number on Serenity along with the steam between Dash and Serenity. I really enjoyed this book and would recommend reading it. I received an arc copy of this book and I am freely leaving an honest review.
Serenity is a wedding planner who has recently been awarded the business in her recent divorce settlement. Her first client is Dash's mother. Their family has a well known wedding business and has had it for several generations. Dash must to come to terms with his mother’s decision to marry after losing her husband 3 years earlier and also for choosing another planner. He doesn’t feel Serenity has the background to do the planning to his standards. It doesn’t take long before he feels differently and they’re drawn to each other. Her ex has mentally abused her, she has serious trust issues, and he’s never had a relationship before. Add in her narcissistic ex who has some serious control issues. See any possible problems here?? This is a wonderful story and a book I couldn’t put down. Another 5+star book from Mr Parker. I received this as an ARC and am voluntarily leaving this review.
The book Some Kinda Romance started out slow. I believe the reason for this was so you could get to know the characters and what was happening at the time. After you got to know who was who and what was about to happen, the story began to get interesting. The beginning was to let you know that Dash's Mom, Dianna was to get remarried to a man named Richard. She was also going to use a competing venue from her son's owned by a woman named Serenity. Of course there were more introductions. From here, there was an action packed romance. It was ongoing, you did not want to put the book down, because you never knew what was going to happen next. You would think everything would be ok, and then next thing you knew there was a bomb thrown into the picture. Just like I said, action packed. I don't want to give anything away, but it is definitely a heartwarming story. Thank you Weston Parker. It was a great story!!
Dash is CEO of his family’s Wedding Planning Business, while Serenity just got her own Wedding Planning Company as part of a divorce settlement from her horrible EX. But Dash’s mother wants her marriage to her second husband to be handled by Serenity. Dash, however, is roped in to help Serenity. At first they hate each other, but naturally, that begins to change. The rest of the book revolves around their missteps at love, and the ex-husband’s attempts to get Serenity back. I can understand that early in the dating game there can be misunderstandings, but when you have two adults, over the ages of 30, both CEO’s, both intelligent, hard-driven, and charismatic continually have COM MUN I CA TION problems, to the point that she keeps slamming doors in his face without giving him any chance to explain, and/or, he just walks away without even attempting to make her listen to his explanation (or fight for her)….
I absolutely love Weston's books and this one does not disappoint. You have Serenity who recently took over the event planning company that she ran with her abusive ex-husband, Ethan. Ethan made it look like he did all the work so she looked like she was a novice taking over the business. And you have Dash St. Clair who also runs an event planning company. Dash's mother is a widow who is getting remarried and chooses to go with Serenity instead of her families event planning business that Dash runs. Dash and his brothers are not happy about it. Dash the least happy about it. Dash will have to work closely with Serenity to plan his mother's wedding. Boy do the sparks fly. They are immediately attracted to one another despite not wanting to be. They try to fight it and encounter many obstacles. This is a must read to see how Dash and Serenity get to their HEA. I sure hope we see more of the St. Clair family too.
This book has some very current themes that are depicted superbly. The characters are my favorites because of their vulnerability and flaws. Serenity was reality TV personality who is moving on with her life divorced from a cruel, mentally abusive, selfish, and controlling man. She is strong now though naturally with some wounds. There are times I she got on my nerves but I understood why. Dash is exactly what the name implies😌🤤🥰! His family is old money but they have heart and a huge dose of reality. I LOVED his mother, Diana. He starts off as a grumpy, distant, alphahole but life has some surprises for him. Serenity and Dash are the couple between these pages who have to work for their relationship. You must read for the specifics.
This Bookfunnel ARC is a little long but well worth reading.
This book reminds me a little of the author’s Wedding Bells Alpha series, with the grumpy, squishy, cinnamon roll hero. That, and the wedding venue setting. I loved Dash. He spends so much time tripping over his own foolish words and actions that I couldn’t help but feel for him. Serenity survived an especially terrible relationship and it has made her reluctant to trust. A situation made worse by the number of time Dash proves just how human he is. I thought these two were adorable together, and the family and friends that surround and support them were incredible. I’m desperately hoping that they will get the chance to star in stories of their own in the future. I received a complimentary advance copy of this book from the author.
Learning to trust A really enjoyable story of two very different high profile people meeting and their undeniable attraction to each other. Can Dash put his prejudices aside and see Serenity as the person that the public have grown to love and adore? Or will he also believe all the bad press her ex husband spreads and has led other people to believe? Will their growing attraction lead to more or will her ex strike again and ruin everything? A story of trust, forgiveness, believing in the person you like as well as being strong enough to overcome the bad happening in your life. A steamy at times novel with characters I really loved especially Dash’s mother and fiancé. I’m looking forward to reading more stories about Dash’s other brothers.
Another great book from Weston Parker this one tells Serenity and Dash's story. Both are in the Event Planning business. Serenity is the owner of an event planning company doing Dash's mother's wedding she was given the business as part of her divorce settlement. Dash is the son of her newest client but has to accept that someone else handling his mother’s wedding.
Attraction builds between Serenity and Dash but then Ethan her ex a controlling and manipulative narcissist reappears and tries to get her to come back to him.
Dash is still trying to come to terms with the loss of his dad when his mother tells him she's getting remarried! Will these two damaged people be able to work together to make his mother's special day perfect?
Oh Dash and Serenity! So, overall I enjoyed the story. I liked the pull that they have to each other, the back and forth adds to the story. Dash is dedicated to his family, the business, and has some misconceived notions about Serenity. I loved how things change and evolve between them. I expect ups and downs, growing pains, getting to know and trust each other, is a real thing. There were a LOT of ups and downs though, a lot of jumping to conclusions and miscommunications, or just lacking communication because of those temper flares. The story worked through those and took me on that journey, I just wish there'd have been a little less of that.
I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Dash is head of one of the premier event coordinators in the LA area. His mother, a widow, is getting remarried and has chosen a different venue, much to Dash's consternation. Serenity is the new owner of that venue and Dash considers her an untested newbie. He is startlingly rude to her, but is still attracted to her. The animosity turns inevitably to something much more, after a ton of angst, hurt feelings, and misunderstandings. Even though Serenity is coming off a disastrous abusive marriage, I thought she was a little too insecure. Poor Dash can't seem to get anything right, but not for lack of trying. Ethan is a real snake, but Dash is nothing like him. Other than being annoyed with Serenity, I really enjoyed the story and would recommend it
When your mom decides to remarry only a couple years after your father’s death and doesn’t use your wedding planning company/venue for the joyous event, you probably have a right to be pissed. So, of course, Dash both hated and was attracted to Serenity on sight. Serenity had her own baggage, trying to pull her high profile life together after a nasty divorce from an abusive ex. Dash and Serenity clashed, almost as often as they allowed themselves to come together. There were probably a few too many conflicts that caused their relationship to fall apart before they finally came together in the end, but it worked. I do wish we got to see how the wedding of two of the best wedding planners would look - but maybe that’s a story for another book.
Another epically long full-length novel with angst and drama. I am used to the full-length novels with Weston and company so I was ready for the drama . He never disappoints. While Dash was a better man than Serenity’s ex but it took him awhile to prove it. My emotions were all over the map with this one, as were Serenity’s. An indicator of a really good author Serenity’s a strong single woman with a past that many can relate to. I love how author always creates his characters with REAL PEOPLE PROBLEMS Dash was a self-proclaimed bachelor and never intended to fall in love Will he have what it takes to love Serenity the way she deserves or will he judge quickly and never be able to give or extract honesty with her? Only one way to find out….
This book has the vibe of enemies to lovers. It was a bit slowly in the beginning but once the book started flowing it got better. Serenity and Dash story is on another level, you could feel the chemistry from the very beginning. I love how Dash was persistent and did not have that type of character who gives up easily. Serenity on the contrary can't trust easily with her past that she had, so she definitely needed Dash to breakdown all her walls. I love everything about this book and will definitely recommend reading this amazing book. Weston Parker did his best again in this lovely romance.

Take this roller coaster ride with Serenity and Dash! You'll be rooting for Dash all the way! Ethan mentally and verbally abused her during their 5 year marriage and even though they are divorced, he isn't letting up. Dash and Serenity have so much in common and make a perfect couple. Serenity is struggling with trust issues and Dash has never been in a relationship before. Dash makes mistakes without meaning to. What's Ethan going to do next? Are they going to let him win? Is love enough? As usual thank you Weston, he doesn't let me down and his supporting characters are so amazing!

I loved the premise of the story - two people in the wedding industry having to swallow their pride and work together on a wedding. Dash and Serenity are opposites and have a lot of baggage from their pasts which causes them to jump to their own conclusions about the other when the attraction they have for one another becomes unavoidable. They constantly let their pasts cloud their present thoughts on each other whenever a conflict happened. Eventually they work out their crap to have a happy ending.
I rounded up on my star rating because it did what a good book is supposed to do - it made me feel something.
Dash is shocked when his mother decides to use a different wedding coordinator, a little hurt and very skeptical of who it is. Serenity is newly in charge of her company after her divorce, she’s clumsy and just starting to get her name out, thrilled to have such a high profile wedding to plan. Their story is not quite an enemies to lovers story but there is a fair amount of drama and you feel for both characters throughout the story while also being annoyed with their actions at times. A great, realistic read.
Lovely romance. This story stars Dash and Serenity. Serenity was previously married and it was pretty awful. Her ex, Ethan who was a controlling narcissist who excelled in manipulation and abuse. Unfortunately, she ended up with the bottom of the barrel. He used every manipulation to get her back. Serenity was trying very hard to start over and then she met the St. Clair family. Her and dash quickly disliked each other but somewhere during the planning of his mom’s wedding, his feelings changed. Entertaining
If you have ever read a book from Weston Parker, you already know how great his books are!! This is kind of an enemy to lovers romance, with characters who catch you and have you rooting for them. I really disliked Serenity's ex husband, Ethan, but clearly can see why she has so much trust issues. Dash, on the other hand is awesome, I get why he is upset that his mother chose Serenity to plan her wedding. The chemestry between Dash and Serenity...off the charts!!! I enjoyed this book wholeheartedly. I received an ARC copy from the author and freely give my review.
I thought this book was really good. It was a bit of a rollercoaster ride and I was caught up in the story from the beginning. It really held my attention well and I loved the growth and development of Serenity and Dash over the course of the story. There were some laughs, a good amount of spice, and lots of emotion. An enjoyable read. I received an advance review copy for free, and am leaving this review voluntarily.
