This has my son’s name “Memphis” so 5 stars is fitting.

I'm giving this 4 stars because my daughter is so attached to it. The story itself is totally random and so incredibly weird. It's about a mummy family. A UFO lands on their pyramid. Out of the UFO comes the typical green people plus a human who has lost his memory (though I am pretty sure he has been smoking a little too much something something). After the green men leave (having left forgetful stoner dude behind) the mummies discover the pyramid is cracked, so they hire the...CONCRETE SISTERs to fix it. (I had a permanent WTF face on by this point). During this time the mummies realize the dude is quite musical so they take him into town to see if someone can help him. They wind up bringing him to the mummy music store and discover he is a famous rock star! So the mummies, rock star and the CONCRETE SISTERS throw a big concert. Rock star thanks the mummies by building them a new 70's rock star inspired pyramid and sending them off on a vacation where no mummy has gone before.

So, yea...totally random....BUT my daughter loves this book. I am not sure if it is the book size or the illustrations which are nicely colorful. The mummies have conversation bubbles on most pages which are funny and make the story more enjoyable for adults. There is no real message to this story. It's just a fun, weird little book, and if it gets my kid more interested in reading then that will always score pretty high in my book.

I picked this up from the library for my daughter just based on the title (she was born in Memphis, TN). Because of that, this book was nothing like what I expected. That's what I get though. My daughter did seem to like it though.
