Black Moon Rising is the next book in this awesome series, The Black Knights Reloaded. We met Julia, in the previous book when she comes to the Black Knights in an official capacity as an FBI Agent. Her and Britt appear to have chemistry from the get go, but he holds back due to a variety of reasons…one being his brother is a criminal🙈
Suffice to say Julia is back when Britt’s brother, Knox, finds himself in a difficult position after being released from jail, and with someone else in tow. Sabrina and Knox come to Chicago seeking Britt’s help. I’m hoping Hew and Sabrina are matched in the next book🤞
Another great story, with action packed suspense and some twist. I excitedly look forward to the next book…no matter which character is next up to fall in love🙌 I received an advanced copy and voluntarily leave my honest review❤️🩹
Britton “Brit” Rollins, former Army Ranger, is a covert operative for Black Knights Inc. He masquerades as a motorcycle mechanic to keep his true job a secret. Brit cannot seem to shake his growing interest in a certain blond federal agent. When his ex-con brother shows up unexpectantly, Britton agrees to help clear his name. Even if it puts him at odds with Agent O’Toole. Can Brit convince Julia to help him find the traitor within her Bureau’s ranks? Or will this fiasco reveal the truth about Black Knight Inc.?
Federal agent Julia O’Toole is damned good at her job. She could never get the handsome mechanic at Black Knights Inc from her mind, or her fantasies. When a case falls into her lap, it gives Julia a valid reason to approach Britton. She suspects there is more to the man and the shop than it appears. While chasing after Britton and his brother, Julia learns there is a traitor in the FBI. Will Julia jeopardize her hard-earned career for Britton? Can she convince the stubborn man to take a chance with them?
Britton is an adrenaline-junkie. There is only one risk he dares not take (or touch): love. I understand his hesitation of losing his heart to someone. The mind conjures all types of thoughts and reasons to protect itself from being further hurt. What I adore the most about Britton is his willingness to help his brother. Some family members write their kin off once they go to prison. Brit knows his brother is uncapable of murder. Petty crime, yes. Murder, no.
Julia is a tough-as-nails woman. A necessity to carve out a niche for herself in a male-dominated occupant. Julia does not allow male egos, or testosterone, stand in her way of doing her job. I like how Julia remains open-minded when presented with new facts and evidence. She does not close her mind to the possibility of one’s innocence, as some agents would. While they think of elevating their career, Julia wants to uphold justice. I find that admirable of her character.
BLACK MOON RISING is the third book in Julie Ann Walker’s romantic suspense series, BLACK KNIGHT INC: RELOADED – a spinoff from her popular BLACK KNIGHT INC books. It is not necessary to read the prior series before this one. But boy, oh boy would you miss out! Boss, Becky, and Ozzie, characters from BKI, make frequent appearances throughout the entire book. It is always great to see the original gang again! I really miss them! And we cannot forget the resident Black Knight’s mascot, Peanut!
In my opinion, it is not a Black Knights book without Ozzie. I have always adored his character from the very beginning! His antics and quips make me laugh every time. I always fist bump the air when his character makes an appearance. Ozzy really is my ideal soul mate, lol. Though, I bet my husband would frown being replaced so easily by a fictional character! And his love for 80’s music and hairbands! Am I a nerd for knowing the two bands (Tesla and Skid Row) mentioned, especially the songs. I even started humming the melodies. Okay, I itched to find the two songs on my Ipod to listen to them.
There is one thing I am dying to know. Kerberos. Will we learn who they are in future books… Or (hint, hint), is there a possibility of a spin off about the hacker group? I would be down with that! Especially, if the Black Knight boys, both new and old, will be involved.
Julie Ann Walker never fails to enrapture me with her characters and books. I always grin in eager anticipation whenever a new Black Knights Inc ARC hits my inbox. I can be sicker than a dog or dead tired, but that does not stop me from delving head-first into her book. Now to wait for Hew and Sabrina’s book! The wait is going to kill me!
Welcome to the fourth installment of the Black Knight Inc. Reloaded, better known as Britt and Julia's book. I am a fan of this series and it have been a minute since we have a new book and it didn't disappoint.
Britt Rollins, describes himself as Julia O'Toole's stalker since they met during a previous operation. The petite, by the book, strong FBI operative Julia O'Toole track down Britt at his workplace, a premium motorcycle factory on the outskirts of Chicago, because his older brother has unfinished business with the FBI. Britt's brother and a unknown female arrived at the facilities seeking help and sanctuary mere minutes before FBI came knocking at the door. And just like that this action pack story takes off and it is almost impossible to not read the entire book in one sitting or put a long night while saying to ourselves just one more chapter/page.
Knoxx Rolllins is a con man, who is a wanted man for murdering his jail mate and partner but now he is on the run with Sabrina, Knox’s jail mate sister, because he didn't cross his partner, the sting op they were working went wrong because of bad intelligence coming from inside the FBI . Since they aren't fully briefed into the events that lead them to BK Factory doors and the FBI arrival, the men and women of BKI gave them cover while buying them some time to escape and find the answers to why are Knoxx and Sabrina in danger and who ordered their demise within the FBI. Knowing how the thrill seeker Britt will never turn his back on friends and family during difficult times, Julia kept pressing until she is presented with the story of how Knoxx have been framed and is now running for his life while protecting Sabrina who is the sister of Knox’s partner. The pace quickly picked up and soon Julia is on board trying to solved the mystery of who in the inside frame Britt's brother and now want them dead. Julia and Britt, Knoxx, Sabrina and Hew hit the road and the twists and turns are endless.
This would not be a BKI book without cameos from previous books from the OG series and the current one plus their big cat Peanut. Although these books can be read as standalones, they are cleverly intertwine into the most important case so far, stopping a major terrorist attack in the USA. The vigilante group Kereberos once more came thru with important info that will help to id and capture the bad actors in this installment. But thru all the running, and fighting for what is right, Britt and Julia relationship matures, grows and overcome emotional trials and hang ups to give us a HEA. There will be a fifth book, Sabrina and Hew story, but as a fan, I will love to see more of Julia's partner, Knoxx new chapter in life and of course more of the men and women who are at the heart of BKI.
I love this book, as I did with all the previous ones. Black Moon Rising reads like a “24” episode, meaning as standalone but an integral part of a series. I may suggest you to read the previous BKI : Reloaded to enjoy easter eggs and cameos from our favorite characters. In short, Britt and Julia's story: a slow burn romance, high action tale. Five shinning stars.
4.5stars-BLACK MOON RISING is the fourth instalment in Julie Ann Walker’s contemporary, adult BLACK KNIGHT INC: RELOADED erotic , romantic suspense series, a spin off from the author’s BLACK KNIGHT INC, focusing on an elite group of former military personnel, headquartered and fronted by a custom motorcycle shop in Chicago known as Black Knight Inc. This is former US Army Ranger turned motorcycle mechanic Sargent Britt Rollins, and FBI Agent Julia O’Toole’s story line. BLACK MOON RISING can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.
NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive reads.
Told from several omniscient third person perspectives including Britt and Julia, BLACK MOON RISING follows Agent Julia O’Toole as she searches for Britt’s brother Knox, a suspect in the murder of another paid informant but all is not as it appears to be, as the agents at Black Knight Inc, provided protection and shelter for a man who may or may not be innocent of a crime. Someone is not whom they claim to be, and Britt begins to suspect a mole on the inside of the FBI. On the run, Britt finds himself facing down the woman with whom he will fall in love, a woman who is willing to listen when no one else will.
Meanwhile, chopper pilot and Black Knight Inc Agent Hewitt Birch finds himself guardian and protector of Cooper’s sister Sabrina Greenlee, a young woman who has suffered in order to protect her brother.
The relationship between Britt and Julia is one of mutual attraction but Britt doesn’t do relationships, believing his is not worthy of love . Britt’s need for Julia finds our hero walking away fearing a life together would end in tragedy, a life together that had barely begun. The $ex scenes are provocative and seductive without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and familiar secondary and supporting characters including several of the previous story line characters: Eliza Meadows, Fisher Wakefield as well as Hunter Jackson (Back in Black 1): Black Knight leader Frank “Boss” Knight and his wife motorcycle mechanic Becky, IT hacker Ozzie Sykes, US Army Nightstalker Chief Hewitt Birch: as well as the introduction of FBI Agent Ryan Keplar, Agent Maddox, and Julia’s partner Agent Dillan Douglas; Sabrina Greenlee, and Britt’s brother Knox Rollins.
BLACK MOON RISING is a story of secrets and lies, power and control, betrayal and vengeance, deceit and treason, family and relationships, acceptance and love. The fast paced premise is thought provoking, twisted and edgy; the romance is passionate ; the characters are determined, charismatic and compelling
I went into Black Moon Rising, book four in the Black Knights Inc: Reloaded series by Julie Ann Walker hoping for a steamy romantic suspense with heart-pounding action—and while it delivered on some fronts, it didn’t completely work for me.
The setup? Pretty great. Britt Rollins is a former Army Ranger turned custom motorcycle mechanic who has major adrenaline junkie vibes. Julia O’Toole is an FBI agent with a soft spot for strays. They’re from different worlds. He is part of clandestine organization, while she is a fairly by the book agent. And their paths collide again when Britt’s brother ends up accused of murder. Add in a little stalking from Britt, and you’ve got the bones of an opposites-attract, slow burn romance with high stakes.
I liked Britt’s rugged charm and his absolute ride-or-die loyalty to those he cares about. But I struggled a bit with how jaded he was about having a relationship. Julia is competent, clever, and kind-hearted—she brings home stray animals like it’s a full-time job. Honestly, I kind of loved that quirk about her. She pretends she’s okay with Britt’s “no commitments ever” mindset, but it left me frustrated. Because while she spoke the words, she wasn’t okay with them at all.
The romance itself is slow burn with lots of tension, but the emotional payoff didn’t completely satisfy me. I felt like there was so much internal conflict—him not wanting forever, her pretending that’s fine. And it never fully resolved in a way that felt solid. I wanted more vulnerability and more open communication.
The suspense plot in Black Moon Rising kept the story moving, but we don’t get full resolution on the overarching storyline yet. If you’re already committed to the Black Knights Inc: Reloaded world, you’ll want to continue the series because the intrigue is just that good. These are NOT standalone books, so you do need to read them in order to get the full effect of the characters and their arcs.
Overall, Black Moon Rising is a decent entry into the series with some fun banter, a solid slow burn, and a good dose of action—but it didn’t blow me away. If you’re into protective, emotionally guarded heroes and competent heroines who deserve more than they’re given, this might still work for you. I’ll keep reading the series because I’m too deep now not to know how the bigger picture ends—but this one was just okay overall for me.
Black Moon Rising is book 4 in the new Black Knights Inc Reloaded series and follows terminal bachelor Britt and FBI agent Julia in their interesting dance of want, need, pulling back and push back.
Britt is caught stalking Agent Julia OToole every morning. By who, you ask? Well, Hew who. When he calls Britt out on his behavior, of course he is defensive. But during his covert recon, he has learned that she is very family oriented and is the type of person looking for her forever, not just a for now.
Julia is a by the book kind of woman. She is a Fed, so bending rules is not easy for her to do. She has a routine and she sticks to it. Including her need for caffeine. But what might surprise you is her menagerie of rescue animals. Her bird is hilarious.
When Julia and Dillon receive a call from an agent in South Carolina about Britt's brother, they make a trip out to BKI's shop. They question Britt about Knox, his brother, and determine that it is a dead end. But the surprise at the end of the visit will just whet your whistle for what is to come.
But when two agents from South Carolina show up in Chicago with information that Knox was seen entering the BKI premises, you will see on peeved Federal agent. She cannot believe Britt lied to her. But did he really? Lying is not in his arsenal.
When Britt, Knox, Hew and Ms Greenlee take off through the bat cave as the Feds are arriving with search warrants, they think they are safe. But only two things in life are guaranteed and safety is not one of them.
Low and behold, there is a traitor among them. But who could it possibly be? The big reveal is explosive, literally. Gunfire. Death. Betrayal. Love. All are a part of this moment.
You do not want to miss this book as it will set up the story for Black Widow, book 5 in the Black Knights Inc Reloaded series.
Some things I am hoping to eventually find out by the end of this series. Who in Washington is pulling the strings? Who is the traitor? Who is Kerberos? Will there be another Black Knights Inc "generation" in the future? So much left to happen to close down this series, yet I am already wanting another one.
My book log tells me I read (devoured!) my first Black Knights book in 2016, and after that, I was a Julie Ann Walker junkie. I loved that 12-book series, with its array of ruggedly gorgeous, brave, and honorable heroes and heroines. I then wept and cheered for the poignantly beautiful In Moonlight & Memories series. And then I got distracted by other shiny new authors and tucked my nostalgia for those exciting Chicago-based motorcycle enthusiasts (or so they pretend to the world!) away and somehow missed Ms. Walker’s reloading of the incredible tales of those intrepid heroes. But baby, they’re back, and they’re just as wonderful as before! Black Moon Rising acquaints us with Julia O’Toole, a dedicated FBI agent trying to do her demanding job, enjoy her morning coffee, and take care of an array of adopted pets. Black Knights operative Britt Rollins has been admiring her from afar, enthralled by her competence, kindness, and beauty, but convinced that he, who causes bad things to happen to people he loves, must stay away. Then the proverbial stuff hits the fan, this time as Britt’s brother arrives desperately fleeing the feds who believe him guilty of murder and drug trafficking. Julia’s on his tail, Britt’s helping him and a hurt and equally mis-judged woman run, there’s a bad guy on the inside, wild chases through the North Country, and yes, of course, some really hot sex. Ms. Walker’s an expert at delivering a great story, terrific characters, and heart-throbbing romance, but she throws in wisdom and life-affirming common sense that manage to elevate the reading experience to something more satisfying than just a dynamic romantic suspense novel. Here’s Julia talking to Britt: “one of my mom’s favorite sayings is that if your dreams don’t scare you, they’re too small.” That’s clear-sightedness worth banking on, and I’m ready to (re)gobble up the entire series – the original and the reloaded! I’m grateful to the author for an early copy of this fabulous book.
I was thrilled with this book again. Not only did I get to see some members of the original crew again, but the whole interaction between the Black Knights is really well developed. It's about solidarity, being there for each other and, especially in Britt's case, not abandoning his brother but standing by him even though he has a criminal past and believing in his innocence in the murder case. Julia is a very special character, but in a positive sense. She takes her work very seriously and remains true to her principles. She thinks outside the box and doesn't condemn anyone until the evidence is irrefutable. She loves justice, but as tough as she is on the job, her private side is just as soft. She takes every stray home with her and gives them shelter and love. So this is a book about opposites who love each other. The nuances are exciting and the author uses excellent language to convey them. Don't want a committed relationship because you don't find yourself lovable? Yes, with Britt you can already sense that a little: Snappy remarks and lots of adrenaline-filled action cover up his insecurities quite wonderfully. The romance isn't neglected either, but it's rather insidious, but absolutely fitting for the story and well written. I like the mixture of romance and thrill, the tension is always there, both in the murder case and between the protagonists. Everything is just absolutely coherent all round and what I like best about the author's writing style is that she brilliantly knows how to uncover everything layer by layer. Both in the murder case and in the personalities of the protagonists. If at one moment you want to punch or shake them because they have strange principles or attitudes to life, you later find a good explanation and everything slips into the right place in your heart.
It's also cool that as a reader you can always guess who love might strike in the next book. I'm guessing Hew and Sabrina :).
Conclusion: Another great, multi-layered book from this series.
This was a great read with a lot going on throughout the story and that is before we discuss the chemistry between the hero and the heroine!
Former Ranger Britt Rollins has had an infatuation with FBI agent Julia O'Toole but when his misfit ex-con brother Knox comes to town with trouble he skates a thin line with Julia. He is convinced that he is not relationship material but still feels the pull to her. He goes on the run to help his brother clear his name to get caught by Julia who he convinces to help him with his brother.
Julia, an FBI agent that has had a few dealings with The Black Knights - the organization that Britt works for. She too is drawn to Britt but is looking for more than the right now that Britt is looking for. She again finds herself working side by side with him to help his brother clear his name but also finds that she cannot resist the pull no matter how hard the pull is.
This was a fast paced story that had me hooked from the start. There is a lot going on in the background of this story that at first is confusing but by the end makes sense. The background stiff also makes for a great set up for a possible next or future story in this series. I also enjoyed the return of the characters from the original series and the banter that they provide as well as the return of the characters of the previous stories in this series. Overall, this was a great story that had a plot that kept me hooked on the story and characters that were well written with chemistry that dripped off the page. I recommend this book and series to others.
This is another great installment in the reloaded Black Knights Inc. series! I am loving the return to this group of black ops soldiers who hide their true work by building custom motorcycles – along with the OG Black Knights (who I love to see making cameos in these books!)
This story is about Brit and Julia. If you’ve read the prior books in this series you will know that Julia is an FBI agent who the team has met as part of prior cases. In the beginning of this book, we learn that Brit has been - well following Julia - because he saw her one day and is fascinated with her (but doesn’t think he can approach her or do anything about his attraction because he doesn’t see himself as good enough for her).
Enter Brit’s brother Knox, fresh from prison and on the run with Sabrina for killing Sabrina’s brother – and Sabrina is the only witness who knows that Knox did not kill her brother. What follows is a game of cat and mouse as Knox and the Knights try to figure out who the traitor is among the feds while protecting Knox and Sabrina (and I’m seeing glimpses of what might be to come in later books with Sabrina and Hewitt, which is exciting).
All in all, a great addition to the series. During each book, we are getting glimpses of a bad actor who seems to know more than he should and I can’t wait to figure out who he is and for BKI to take him on.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. This is my true and honest opinion.
Britt is the latest BKI member to navigate his past and move forward and allow himself his own HEA. He’s surprised by a visit from his brother (and ex-con) Knox and a Sabrina, who’s brother was Knox’s partner in jail and was just killed. Britt needs to divert his efforts from “watching” Julia, the FBI agent that he’s tracking because he refuses to admit his feelings for her and manage the troubles that arrived at his door with his brother. Julia is a gem – quick witted, smart, and feisty. She’s been tasked with finding Britt’s brother to bring him in. What both Julia and Britt discover is that there’s a double agent in the FBI that has exposed both Knox and Sabrina’s brother, and now they’re both working to expose the FBI traitor, clear Knox’s name, and keep everyone safe.
You get the usual resistance to dive into a relationship from Britt, and Julia being just as tough and witty as the BKI team. This one also gives us some of the OG BKI crew with Frank (Boss), Becky, Ozzie, and others including Peanut – and the 80s hair bands that Ozzie is blasting in the warehouse. With Britt and Julia, you also get Star Wars movie quotes and their great connection.
The BKI books are a comfort read, and will always immediate grab one and dive in as long as Julie Ann Walker keeps writing them. Based on the mention of Kerberos (the secret hacker) at the end, I suspect there’s more to come!
This series is not as good as the original Black Knights Inc. series. My rating has been going down since I first started the series. The first book was good. The next one was slightly less interesting. The last one and this one, I did not care for.
To start with, a little editing or information here. FBI is the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Investigation does not have an 's' at the end as the author stated.
I found myself skimming a lot of the book. There was very little action. In the previous series they did go overseas occasionally on missions. In this series, everything has been on US soil. I hate the continuous mystery about Bishop. In this book he was not even mentioned until toward the end. I like standalone books. The books in this series are not. We have to wait until the last book for Bishop to be taken care of.
There was very little romance. Britt did stalk Julia. But he did not want to admit that he had feelings. The problem with his brother was taken care of about 40 pages from the end. Then you had the last 40 pages with Britt and Julia trying to figure things out. Why did it take so long? Then, at the end, I don't think things were really settled. Yes, he finally admitted that he cared for Julia, but that was it. They just promised to work things out.
I will read the next two books in hopes that they are better and we finally see the end of Bishop.
Britt Rollins worked with FBI Agent Julia O’Toole on a prior case. When he sees her one day in a coffee shop, she captivates him. He quasi-stalks her, to learn more about her (but not for any creepy intentions). Britt’s co-worker discovers what he’s doing and razzes him all the way back to their workplace. Britt is convinced he’s a bad bet with relationships, so he doesn’t even bother trying. Julia sure noticed Britt while they worked together, but doesn’t know when she will ever run into him again until she gets a call about his brother, Knox. FBI agents in Virginia want to talk to Knox about a murder they think he committed, and the fact that he’s on the run seems to indicate guilt. Agent O’Toole is thrilled when she is asked to question him about Knox. That gives her just the excuse she needs to see Britt again.
There’s a lot going on behind the scenes that readers don’t initially understand, but as the story progresses, things become clearer. This is a fast-paced story that includes witty banter and clever and intelligent adaptations when any of these characters get into a tight spot. It’s a fascinating read! There are some laugh-out-loud moments that are fun. There are also some awkward moments that are cringe-worthy. Altogether, this was a fun and exciting read, and it’s so nice to see the storyline continue with these new BKI characters.
We are back in Chicago where another BKI operative finds love , even when he doesn’t feel worthy of it. Former elite Ranger warrior, Sergeant Britt Rollins’s childhood was one no child should ever experience. His older brother Knox, was there for him, but somehow, in the midst of it all, Knox, lost his way and nowadays is an ex-con. When his brother comes to Britt for help, Britt will do all he can, even going toe to toe with the woman he’s infatuated with, Special FBI Agent , Julia O’Toole. Hiding his brother is what he needs to do, so when he kisses Julia trying to distract her from finding his brother, it truly backfires. HIs attraction grows, and Julia finds herself even more drawn to Britt. But what happens when things go haywire, and Julia finds herself in the midst of a real mess? Maybe Knox is innocent and there is a traitor in the FBI. This action packed story delivers once again a strong female character, and a warrior that lives in the “gray area” of life. A reminder that life is messy, not always filled with black and white answers, and that finding someone who “gets you” is worth the risk of loving them. It also gave readers a chance to “visit” with characters from previous stories. Hope that Hew Birch, and Sabrina get their story. I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
This one was interesting. I thought it funny how Britt turned stalker and with who. It was so funny to see how smitten he was and how Hew called him out on his behavior. Of course things happened and this fun part couldn't stay fun, as Britt's brother showed up with trouble on his tail.
From there things got a bit crazy! Britt listened and realized that his brother and friend really needed help and he did what he could to help, with the full blessing and backing of everyone one at BKI. Things got a bit more crazy and soon the person that Britt was stalking was coming after them all, but just as quickly, given the whole story Julia was on their side, determined to help.
Of course the mole showed up, making things start to spin out of control. I was a bit surprised at who the mole was, I had them pegged as someone else.
In the end, the bad guy got his, everyone was safe and life could go on. Sadly Britt was still not willing to give into his feelings and fought like hell. It took Hew making him open his eyes and Britt seeing Julia ready to date someone else before Britt really woke up. It took a bit, but these two ended up together and happy.

I received a Kindle version of this book from Goodreads in exchange for my review.
I have read all of the Black Knight and Black Knight Reloaded series so it’s nice to catch up with everyone. I like how the author weaves the books together; the main characters for the next book have already been introduced in this book. The banter is pretty good and there were very obscure Star Wars references. The main action takes place over 2 days so some suspension of disbelief is required to fully enjoy things.
The problem with having read all of the books is that they run together and the plot elements are very familiar. The action takes place in a short amount of time, Chicago is as much a character as the humans, and all of the main male characters have issues with relationships that are resolved in about 3 pages at the end. Sometimes this is a comfort and sometimes it’s annoying. I think this can be read as a stand-alone without missing too many references.
I find some of the writing in Black Moon Rising and contemporary romantic thrillers a little sexist so I tend to avoid them. But the familiarity of the Black Knights gang makes it a good, escapist read.
We are back in Chicago visiting with our favorite "motorcycle mechanics". I am really loving Black Knights, Inc. Reloaded. This is Britt and Julia's story. They have had an attraction going between them since the Knights helped FBI agent Julia with her last case two years ago. They just have never done anything about said attraction... until now. Britt's brother Knox is in serious trouble. The FBI is after him. Britt will do anything to protect his brother. They go on the run, with Julia and her colleagues in hot pursuit. When Julia and Britt clash, he convinces her to come and listen to his brother's side of things. What follows is non stop action and danger. It's up to Julia and Britt, with his friends, to root out the bad apple in the FBI. Britt and Julia become close, until Britt gives in to his fear and runs. Does Julia stand a chance of convincing him that love is worth fighting for? Get this book and find out. Sorry, no spoilers. I received this ARC and here is my honest review.
Black Knights Inc Reloaded series book 4, Black Moon Rising begins with former Ranger Britt distantly stalking FBI Agent Julia every morning but not sure it could ever lead any further. Then Julia catches Britt stalking her and the story unfolds with the Julie Ann Walker suspense and excitement. Fasten your seatbelt and hang on as you are drawn into the fast-paced rollercoaster ride of emotions flying in every direction between the two of them. As Julia learns more about Britt she realizes this isn’t some whimsical crush and that she is looking for something way more serious.
They take a trip to BKI and the tension begins with Britt being questioned about others while there. Twists and turns bringing Knox and his brother into the story leading to more suspense. The agents quickly realize they have been double-crossed by someone close. The bullets start flying and the betrayal reveals itself clearly.
This story was a great addition to the BKI Reloaded series, and I am eagerly looking forward to book 5, Black Widow.
Britt Rollins is a member of the Black Knights Inc and has been “ stalking “ Julia O’Toole since he met her. Julia is a FBI agent and likes to do things by the book. Britt’s brother Knox, an ex con, shows up with a woman, Samantha, and trouble behind him. Knox and his best friend were recruited to go undercover with a drug cartel and turn states evidence but someone in the FBI outed them to the cartel. Samantha’s brother was murdered in front of them and she was assaulted. Britt and another operative take them to a cabin in the woods. The feds are on their tail and Britt sort of kidnaps Julia to take her to his brother. She listens to the story and agrees to help clear his name. Britt was already half in love with Julia but refuses to give in to it. Britt believes in love just not for himself. Can Julia break down the walls around Britt’s heart? Action. Steamy. Forced proximity. Great story that will keep you on the edge of your seat.
Britt Rollins is a man that has a lot of regrets in his life, so much that he holds himself back and is afraid to love. Even though he knows that the FBI agent, Julia O'Toole is the hottest woman he's ever laid eyes on, he keeps his distance from her.
Julia O'Toole finds Britt Rollins attractive and would love to get to know him better, but with her work and the interactions they have, she keeps to her professional persona until they end up in a remote cabin for a night.
I love the Black Knights Inc, series and the Reloaded books have been just as entertaining, action packed, and suspenseful as the OG books were. I love the characters and the stories always pull me in from the first page and keep my mind reeling until the final page. I love these books and I'm excited for more to come.
I love it when original characters come back into the story. Frank is a force to reckon with.
I enjoy Julia’s moxy and overall confidence. She might be small, but she’s mighty! Her grit and determination is paramount to her success and keeping herself alive. I also appreciate her love of coffee.
Britt is a man who knows his purpose and his path in life. I love how he fell in love with Julia the first time he met her and has been keeping track (stalking) her ever since. He can’t stay away from her, but he has commitment issues. When things get real, I think it’s sweet how he dives right in and takes care of all Julia’s pets when it’s needed.
An exciting story full of angst and determination to do what’s right, family love and loyalty. It has some danger and suspense thrown in to make it a gut-tightening read. The sweet HEA is well deserved!
Always an amazing ride. Britt is former military working at BKI when he met Julia while in the hospital. She’s an FBI agent hunting down his brother but he can’t help be drawn to her. Knox, the innocent jailbird, needs someone to hear his story and Julia listens. There’s a back story about the bad buys concerning Knox but the bulk of the story is Julia and Britt fighting off feelings. They have great banter, speaking in quotes from Star Wars and just getting each other’s humor. I feel like part of the gang when I read one of these books, just watching it all. The books are slightly connected as this Bishop person is on the sidelines, a bad guy sometimes with good intentions he seems to have a greater cause. We didn’t hear much from him this time. I enjoyed reading an advanced copy and have provided my voluntary review.
Julie Ann Walker’s series about the Black Knight Inc. and it’s secret government agents who build motorcycles got me hooked on this genre after reading the first of the series “Hell On Wheels.”. What a trip and I don’t even ride motorcycles. 14 books later I still am hooked and can’t wait for the next story. Her latest is called “Black Moon Rising” and I think it is now my new favorite (until the next book). Julia is an FBI agent and Britt works for Black Knights, Inc. supposedly as a builder of specialized motorcycles. There is a mole in the FBI ranks but Julia doesn’t realize it. I don’t want to give the story away, but just know you will not put the book down after you read the first page. You will never go wrong reading about the Black Knights, Inc. Loved this book. Definitely recommend it to everyone who wants edge of your seat action with a love story on the side.
No one writes an edge of your seat thriller like Julie Ann Walker! Ever since Britt Rollins met FBI agent Julia O'Toole, he's been obsessed. He knows that she's way out of his league but he can't help himself from watching her from afar. When his brother shows up on the run with the FBI on his tail, he tries to keep him and his traveling partner one step ahead of Agent O'Toole. The problem, Julia is the best of the best at her job and won't let her attraction to Britt stop her from capturing his brother. Boy this book was a thrill ride! Fast and furious with plenty of twists that I'm not going to give away! I will say that it was told from dual POV and just because there's a lot of action don't think that there isn't any heat! Britt and Julia are two multi layered characters that belong together if they can survive! I have been loving this series and look forward to what comes next.
Julia and Britt own this book. A novel that you cannot put down: a fast paced, high level romantic suspense, sprinkled with witty dialogue, beautiful love, bonds of friendship and family, depth of character, and the BKI crew, old and reloaded, in the same building. What transpired above all is the absolute love, despite obstacles and challenges: Britt's love for his brother, no matter Knox's criminal past, Hew's friendship for Britt, the length the BKI crew goes to support one of their own, Julia's family care for her when wounded, and the one that owns this book, Julia's and Britt's love for each other, no matter what. Hew's love for Sabrina remains open for the next BKI reloaded novel, I suppose. The Epilogue is more than intriguing and I wonder...but I'll let you read it for yourselves. Enjoy!
The way he describes her physique at the beginning have me the ick. Then he stalks her, more ick. Then I'm supposed to believe that an FBI agent doesn't notice a biker in the coffee shop every day stalking her, then i find out she is obsessed with him but still didn't notice him? Man this book is starting off bad. I find it hard to believe that all these hardened operatives don't know there is a CCTV camera pointed at their gate. An FBI agent should know better than to put the gun that close to a suspect. The Insta love was boring. I Would have liked to see Julia actually do something smart or heroic but she floated along following Britts lead. Overall it was a dissapointing book that didnt live up to its potential, I think the author is getting lazy, I felt like there were holes - not plot holes - but parts that needed fleshing out.
Britt Rollins and Julia O'toole are in the midst of a will they, won't they situation. He has convinced himself that he won't do a relationship, despite being attracted to agent O'toole. And she doesn't think she can change his mind. But then his brother shows up and adds quite a wrench in the whole situation. They need to decide if they can and will work together to free Knox's name and help keep Sabrina safe. This book is fast paced, with lots of action and increasing amounts of tension between the main characters. Insert all of the cuteness between Sabrina and Hew and you get a great read. The HEA eventually came, but it felt like the book could have been a little bit longer. It left me wanting more of their story.
This was everything I was hoping it would be ever since I met Julia in the last book. Bringing back the Black Knights has been everything, I do miss the original guys though. Ozzie is as amazing as he has always been and he will, in my opinion, always be the backbone of the teams. As always we are left with a cliff hanger, about who the bad guy is, but I know that eventually we will find out who Kerberos is, I guess we just have to be patient. Ugh!
As always the Black Knights have managed to enamor me and keep me hooked from the first page. The next book is going to be hard to be patient to wait for but I will pick it up the minute it is released. I hope that you enjoy Brit and Julia's book as much as I have.
Received ARC from author for voluntary honest review.
The story of Britt, operative for the Black Knights and Fed agent Julia. I love Walker’s books as they tell us the story of strong men and women, fighting for what’s right and always with suspense, danger and plenty of romance. This book is no exception. We get reunited with some of the ones we have come to love in the previous books and work together with Britt, protecting family and getting Julia to see the truth of what really happened. Julia is perfect for Bitt, and vice versa as they give into their desires. Walker is one of my favorite authors as she continues to write fun, romantic suspense for her fans.
