The friend zone: a black hole from which there is no escape.

Or so they say.

But Lily Perkins is desperate to climb out of the frigid void and into the scorching embrace of former sailor Deryk “Bull” Roberts. If only she can get her Bull-headed bestie to cooperate.

Saddled with a devastating past and riddled with unanswerable questions, Bull’s life is too complicated for romance, especially at the risk of losing his best bud. But he never expected his attraction for Lily to burn so hot.

As lines are crossed and challenges are made, can they find a way out of the friend zone abyss? Or will the darkness of his past devour their spark?

The Dead Presidents MC is a brotherhood of military veterans formed to help vets reintegrate into civilian society. They’re the good guys… mostly. Complete, standalone HEA love stories. No cheating, no cliffhangers.

This was a really cute story that I really enjoyed especially with the chemistry the main characters had as well as all the fun characters that were pure enjoyment. Lily had her own circle of amazing friends between the girls and old ladies right down to the club brothers who were all so protective of her.

Lily was my favorite character she was a riot and was fun, sassy, sexy, compassionate, and a woman who has come a long way in two years since she had come to the club.

Bull was more like bullheaded lol. What was he thinking just friend-zoning and sister zoning Lily? I did understand and sympathize with the emotions Bull was Waring with between and his heart and head especially when his past relationship is so similar to his almost current one.

I loved the ups and downs this story had as it made things interesting and the story was a bit emotional for Bull as he was having a hard time letting go of the past so much, so he was ruining what happiness his future could bring him.

The story had a little drama and had a plot filled with emotion with a couple who went from friends to lovers who had some amazing chemistry filled with a ton of spark and filled with a lot of hot and heated looks but, they had to take a bit of a detour first. Lily was one persistent woman, and we loved how she went after what she wanted and never giving up even if she had to shed a ton of tears to catch her man.

Overall a heartfelt read we really enjoyed so much so that we read it in just a few hours. The story was a bit tame for an MC story but, it was filled with heart and the characters that felt real that were engaging and easy to fall in love with.

We are really enjoying this series...

The Dreaded Friend Zone

Bull and Lily had been friends for two years but Lily was done with that and wanted their friendship to continue on to the next level and that’s when Bull pulled her from the dreaded friend zone only to put her in an even worse category…the sister zone!!

Lily had been through so much in her life that she was willing to fight her way into Bull’s bed and into a relationship she knew he wanted too. Bull had things from his past that kept him from moving forward and it took a friend to point a few things out.

This was a sweet read that had some laugh out loud moments especially with old Mrs. Moore. It’s worth the read just for this lady and her skiing abilities!! You’ll just have to read to find out.

Harley has given us a wonderful friends to lovers romance with Bull & Lily.
When they first meet Lily is a young woman that has been through a terrible trauma and Bull makes it his mission to keep her safe. It is a situation to close to home for him. Their friendship is wonderful but now two years later Lily wants more and is tired of being put back in the friend zone. She never expected the secrets that this wonderful man was keeping and now it is time to show him that he is worth the risk! I loved watching this couple grow together and become so much more than either one had expected !

Not bad. ⚠️ Might contain spoilers ⚠️ Not Sure Yet.

Lily and Bull.
I adored Lily. Bull ? Well, honestly for me his nickname felt really appropriate for most of the book. I felt like Bull)# reasons for putting Lily through all he did was complete and utter Bull
bleep.
I’m gonna try not to give away anything important but I gave a warning and I want to explain why I feel the way I do.
Ok,
I think we all know Bull lost someone really important to him, which caused him to act out and that’s why he’s in Seattle and not in the Navy.
Well long story short ( I hope) Lily reminds him of what happened. Reminds him of home, and he fears seeing her will upset his family because they know all the stuff I’m trying NOT to tell you. But two things :one,if being around her was that upsetting he wouldn’t have allowed himself to be there for her starting the minute she comes into the Dead Presidents fold, nor would he have become her bestie. But he does.
And two: is that even though he lets worries about upsetting is family he’s not close to them when this story starts and he lives practically on the other side of the country from them. So even if he were to upset them, why does it matter so much ?
He doesn’t live near them and he only goes to see them at Christmas. While twist as to what Lily reminds him of is a doosey, it doesn’t feel like it’s grounded in reality enough to have him act as he does.
What it boils down to is he’s not ready. Something bad happened to Bull and he just wasn’t ready to move on. And for me if it had been played like that I could have gotten on board w/it. But it wasn’t. Sadly.
We go from Bull and Lily meeting in the prologue and barely spending, maybe five minutes together when they meet,to fast forwarding to two and a half years in the future. A future where they’ve built up this relationship that we don’t get to be apart of seeing/watching it grow ,yet we’re supposed to be emotionally invested in it some how.
How ? How am I supposed to be connected and invested in a relationship that I see start on minute and it’s almost full grown and seemingly out I’d control the next ?
It’s like giving me a six wk. old puppy to hold one minute and giving me a untrained grown dog the next. How do I bond now ? These rest of the story we see Lily move and grow and be smart and interesting. We see her get a dog and she how kind and compassionate she is. Bull? Bull flounders around being a horses rear because he’s miserable for pushing Lily away but pushing her away is what’s best for everyone. Seriously?
Basically Bull acts a fool and we spend most the book watching Lily vacillate between hurting over him and trying to living a good life w/out him.
Personally I feel if we could have been apart of their relationship as it grew from the beginning even if it jumped from some weeks here to so many months there and been a part of Bull’s thinking and processing along it might have been better. That’s my opinion anyway. But to go from their five minute meeting to two and 1/2 years of being buddies his reasons for pushing her away and being such an A to her? They just don’t hold up and watching him be a needless jerk just because he still needed to let go of his past while telling himself he was “doing the right thing” just wasn’t fun to watch. I guess it was needed to give the story some angst because once they were “ together” there wasn’t much left . But we needed a chance to get connected fir this to really work. Though I did love a guy getting to be a virgin for once in a story like this. For me the role reversal hot.
Recommend? Yeah, but I wish to heck this was KU , I can’t see myself wanting to read this ever again. And that makes me a lot less eager to read this writer again.

Taming Bull is a friends to lovers read in the Dead Presidents MC series by Harley Stone. The book looks at Lily Perkins, a woman who has been through some trauma, but she isn’t going to let that stop her. She has been in love with her best friend Deryk ‘Bull” Roberts, but has been officially friend-zoned in the hardest way.
Bull likes Lily and would like to have more with her, but this former military man has demons of his own and doesn’t feel it is fair to start something with Lily. Not only does she not know the truth about his past, but he is worried what others will think about Lily.

This story is about the push and pull between Lily and Bull. Lily tries at times to seduce Bull and at times you think it is going to work, until she is ultimately rejected. We see the hurt that Lily goes through not only to hold onto her friend, but also in dealing with the unrequited love that she feels for him. If only it was one sided!

I really enjoyed reading both characters POV in this book. At times the book was really cute and sad as there were moments where you felt that Lily and Bull wouldn’t get together at all, or even have a surviving friendship. For Bull trying to only be friends with Lily, there certainly were some steamy scenes between the two.

If you have read this series before, you’re going to love seeing characters from previous books and how their own relationships have evolved. I love being back with these families, they’re sassy, sexy and seriously hilarious at times.

ARC received for a fair, honest and sometimes long review. All opinions are my own. 😊

A refreshing take on a friends to lovers romance, this story pulled me in right from the beginning. There was just enough drama to make it interesting, but not so much that it wasn't believable. This author has a way of making the characters seem real, and their story seem like you are right in the middle of it when it's happening.

Bull had an amazingly normal childhood. Growing up in a typical southern family, his life seemed to be planned out for him, and he was happy. After going away to serve his time in the military, tragedy struck, and everything spiraled out of control. Life has a way of leading you to where you need to be, especially when you least expect it, but maybe need it the most.

Lily's life has been one bad turn after another. A particularly horrible event leads her to the Dead Presidents MC, and to the one man she is sure is meant to be her future. But nothing in Lily's life has been easy, and it doesn't look like her love life is going to be any different!

I really wasn't sure, at times, that Lily and Bull had a chance. There were just too many emotions, too much standing in their way. Their story was one that really shows that true love wins in the end, even when you don't expect it to. It was a story that tugs at your emotions, and left me in awe at how perfectly right they were together. Absolutely perfect!

I love this biker series by Harley Stone. Unlike most MC’s, the Dead Presidents MC is made up of men who are all former servicemen that need a place to call home after serving their country. For many it’s a place to get the brotherly comradery and structure they had in the service for others is a place to be themselves while struggling to return to civilian life.

Bull’s situation is a little different. He had barely began his first term before he landed in the brig and eventually discharged. The reason for the brig, well you just need to read the fabulous storyline as I don’t do spoilers. But after being discharged he found his way to the Dead Presidents MC and has since settled into club life. A life that includes his best friend Lily. The spark between these two is beyond explosive but Bull refuses to see her as anything but a friend - no matter how hard she tries to change his mind. But his reasons all stem to his youth and what got him discharged from the service. Cryptic I know.

Can Lily convince Bull to come clean with her? And if he does, can she get him to give them a chance? Amazing addition to the series. While it can definitely be read as a stand-alone, I highly recommend reading them all. It’s a Must Read series in this reader's humble opinion.

2 Thumbs Up and 5+ Stars for this Highly Recommended MC read.

Harley Stone is back with this, the 9th book from her Dead Presidents MC series.

This is Bull and Lily’s story, they are the best of friends however Lily wants more than just friendship but Bull has stuck her in the friendzone. Bull’s childhood was normal, he joined the military then his life as he knew it spiraled out of control when tragedy truck, Lily’s life has been tough and a tragic event sees her heading to the Dead Presidents, Bull in particular, the man who she considers to be her future, only issue is, she needs to convince him of that fact. Will Lily be successful in claiming her man? Or is she destined to be in the friendzone forever? Read this brilliantly written sweet, steamy story filled with many emotions, humour, twists and turns, I guarantee you’ll be hooked from start to finish like myself.

I’ve loved this series from the very beginning and look forward to seeing what’s to come next from this talented author whose work I can’t recommend enough.

Frequently coming into a series leaves you feeling like you have missed a lot. I didn't find that with Taming Bull. I discovered that I really liked the over-arching theme of the novel being about a group of youngish veterans who were doing a lot of good.

Bull is very attracted to the young, working-her-way-up Lily, who is very brave and resilient. However, there is one major problem that he can't seem to get around. So, he does what he thinks (think being the operative word) is right and pushes her away.

Lily, who is apprenticing as an electrician (she's so cool), is tired of being friend-zoned by Bull and decided to move on. Funnily enough, everyone all around them can see that Bull is being dumb. We get from a story of two young people who start working to overcome all the obstacles holding their relationship back. It's a sweet story, and it has many great characters who are from the earlier books. There is sweet steam between Bull and Lily, and their romance is an enjoyable read.

Taming Bull by Harley Stone

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Much anticipated book finally here.

Ever since meeting Bull in Link’d Up when he first joined the MC I wanted to know more. Plus I really wanted him to find someone to love as well and Harley Stone delivered.

Taming Bull shows Lily's fight to get out of the "friend" zone and Bull to stop fighting his attraction for her.

Lily has been through so much after being raped and meeting the MC when they tracked her down to testify and free Havoc from jail. Instantly I knew I would want them to be happy together as I already cared for both of the characters.

Bull's history is whats causing him to push Lily away and as I learned more about his past my heart could have broken for him.

As always though author came through big time so that they could get there happy ending but the journey itself was a great read.

This series has been one of my favourite and I can say I would still recommend both this book and the whole of the Dead Presidents MC Series.

Harley Stone nailed it!!! She has taken a complicated, sad topic and given hope to her readers. Lily was raped two years earlier. She ran in fear but stood up to the suspect with the support of The Dead Presidents. They continue to support her.

She could have crumbled but she has chosen to survive, thrive and give love a chance. She holds her friendship to Bull close to her heart but she wants more. She wants him. She needs him.

Bull values his friendship with Lily but it can't be more. His past haunts him. His inability to protect his future eats at him. He can't risk love. He can't risk Lily becoming a part of his family. He can't. He won't.

Which is stronger, love or fear? Taming Bull will have you thinking. Taming Bull will have you crying. Taming Bull will shock you. Taming Bull will have you hoping for a happily ever after. They deserve it. They need it.

Bull has issues, and those issues kept me from liking him at all because I think his choices were cruel. See, he's best friends with a woman named Lily, who wants to get out of the friend zone, and she keeps getting rejected in very mean ways that they should have cut ties but Lily was in it to win it. I'm of the mind that if a dude wants to make the choice to hurt his bestie, then he needs to let her go & not pull her back. I know he has demons, but in my eyes they weren't quite bad enough for his questionable actions. He also let what people would think of her cloud his judgement as well, so I was really hoping hard that she would meet someone who was better suited to her even though they had crazy sparks. I know that I'm probably in the minority, but this is where we are. Of course I don't want anyone to go by my opinion because I'm in a dark space at the moment, and since I'm a HUGE fan of Harley Stone, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you decide for yourselves!

Finally we get Bull's story. Well I was stunned with this story. So we know a little about Bull from the earlier books. So when he started with the Dead Presidents he also met Lily. Now Lily has not had it easy at all and was going through something traumatic. As the years passed both Lily and Bull became friends but Lily wants more. Now Lily is bound and determined to get Bull to see her point about them being more than friends. He is stubborn and is doing everything to friend zone her hard. Now their journey has some funny moments, emotional moments and finally cleansing moments. So why does Bull keep being a dbag, well that was crazy when I read it. I mean what are the chances. I can understand his hesitancy but Lily is not giving up. She rose to the challenge. Another reason I loved this story is seeing how much Lily has come along from her earlier experience. We do get a happily ever after and it was all worth the wait.

I’ve been a fan of Harley Stone’s books for a while, but this has to be my new favorite! Bull and Lilly’s story goes back to the first book in this series, Link’d Up. But you don’t have to read that first.

Since their first meeting two years ago, Bull (although he’s attracted to her) has firmly kept Lilly in the “friend-zone”. And good grief is that man stubborn! Bull is an appropriate road name for him, he is VERY bullheaded!

Lilly has not had an easy life the last few years. Homeless for a few years, she’s living in a fantastic shelter and making significant improvements to her life. She has a terrific personality and you never quite know what she will say. The text conversation about “asleep” will forever be one I remember and chuckle about.

Come on, step into the world of the Dead Presidents MC, they are a great bunch.

Bull & Lily

For two years she'd tried to get his attention. For two years he'd fought her advances putting her firmly as his best friend. Being a friend was okay as long as there was more but no matter what she did he wouldn't let her cross over. Why? It was obvious he was more than attracted to her. What kept them apart?

He did want her but there was no way for them to be together. His past. Her past. It just couldn't be--or could it?

The amazing club and the wives of the brothers befriended women in need and had helped Lily. She had worked hard to get on her feet and change her life. Could her new life possibly include Bull or would she have to just move on?

Amazing characters including BB who you won't be able to help but love him. A good read with plenty of steam, characters to care about, and a story that you will enjoy.

This is the 9th book in this amazing series and is Bull and Lily’s story. These two are best friends but Lily wants more out of their relationship, while Bull has her firmly place din the friend category. Bull had a normal childhood until he joined the military, and when tragedy strikes his life as he knows it spirals out of control. Lily has had a tough life, and after a tragic event she heads to the “Dead Presidents” and to them man she considers as her future, now she just needs to convince him of that fact. This is a well written flawless story which is filled with drama, emotions, twists, humour, and is a sweet and steamy read which had me totally enthralled throughout this riveting tale. I look forward to reading more from this gifted author whose work I highly recommend for all.

Y'all its time for Lily and Bull they've been friends for a few years and Lily definitely wants more. Bull is definitely Bull headed and Lily calls him out on it. These two have chemistry thats crazy but Bull keeps her in the friend zone and then moves her to the sister zone and she about looses it. I love how everyone pulls together and backs Lily. Tay has a heart to heart with Bull and its like the light bulbs go off he's still very bull headed. These two work together and they make it work and its super sweet to see them go from friends to lovers and it works for them. This was a emotional read for me but so worth it.

I love Lily & Bull's story! Their whole friend zone dance made me want to smack them at times, but I was in good company because I think their friends were all in that same boat til they got it together. LOL

I love both their personalities & how they work together. There are some very deep emotions they need to work through, but also light & fun moments because they've both got that kind of personality. And of course, there is the steam & chemistry they have going on!!

So many things I want to say, but don't want to be spoilery & so I'll just say - Lily & Bull are a great addition to this series & get thumbs up from me!

I loved this book!

I have to say that Lily and Bull have become my favorites! Lilly with her wit and hilarious sayings. She is a great character. A woman that had been through so much, and worked hard to get her life on track. She did it with her first spirit and humor. She was great. Bull had struggles of his own and demons he needed to lay to rest. Through his friendship with lilly he was able to overcome his obstacles because lilly would not settle for anything less for her best friend. A wonderful friends to lovers romance that had me laughing out loud. Such a great read.

Deryk “Bull” Roberts and Lily Perkins this is one story I couldn't wait to read. Lily is considered the little sister of the MC but Bull is her friend but unfortunately their feelings for each other isn't quite friend/sister and Lily is tired of being pushed away and will stop at nothing to let Bull know. Wow! The twist in this story blew me away. Harley Stone is simply put, an amazing storyteller. Lily is such a strong character who has perservered through so much. I wanted to shake some sense into Bull, but he was dealing with his own trauma. Another great story in this amazing series.

Book nine in the Dead Presidents MC series. Can be read and enjoyed as stand-alone. Full length told in dual POV with HEA. The Dead Presidents are a motorcycle club where all members are military vets. Each book is about a different member and secondary characters are the same throughout the series. The first half was a little slow for me with Bull being stubborn and pushing Lily away. I really liked Lily; she did not give up, but gave Bull space & friendship until he was ready to put his past behind him.

I need a dead president in my life!

I just spent the last week reading this entire series and I've never laughed out loud so much while reading! These characters have so much personality! I want to be friends with them in real life! They are my long lost soul mates. Thank you Harley Stone for giving me laugh wrinkles. I can't wait to see what characters you bring to life next. These books have everything you could want. I'm crazy in love with each of these men and their women ❤️

This book was good. I was surprised it took this long in the series to tell Bull’s story considering he was introduced in the first book. But I appreciated the way it showed the time progression with this book taking place 2 years after book one. This book didn’t seem to have as much interaction with the characters from earlier books as much as previous books and I missed that dynamic. But what it did have was good - I liked Lily’s sisterly relationship with everyone. And her banter with Monica was funny!

This book was awesome we have a flashback of sorts back when Havoc rescued the girl from an attack , i mean he was late in keeping her from being hurt but the guy paid for what he did and then Lily stayed with fhw MC til she testified against her attacked and kept Havoc from prison. We met Bull , he became friends with Lily but she wants more he does too but she is a reminder of his past , these two have a unique story and you will.love how it is told.

This book was awesome. I loved Bull and Lily together. They were friends first and even though tried to keep it just friends Lily was ready for it to be more. This story draws you in. I was able to laugh a lot during the book. Harley Stone is an amazing writer. She puts her all into the books. I loved seeing Lily come more into her own. They both had a lot to over come to find their happily ever after. Can’t wait to see what happens next. I HIGHLY recommend this book.

I think why I liked this one so much was because of Lily, she knew what she wanted and went after Bull. I had to laugh at some of her choices to be subtle, but she was trying, which was more than Bull was doing. Of course we learned why Bull was reluctant and it was understandable. Lily had to bring out the big guns to let Bull know she was putting up with his crap any longer and I loved her for it. From there things were good for them both, something each of them deserved.

Another fantastic read by favorite MC author!! Hound and Lily try for their HEA after circling each other for years.

Just the sweetest story! Great dialogue and character development without being too angsty. A quick and easy read with some great laugh out loud moments. Haven't been disappointed by a Harley Stone book yet!
