I like how Zuma is nice to Tom right from the start, rather unlike Isis was. With the way girl protagonists usually treat boy protagonists nowadays, this new relationship dynamic is actually more original! (Tom is, as ever, unfailingly kind and supportive, so he definitely deserves to be treated well.) The cowboy stuff ticks all the right boxes.

Realy good book. Tom starts another set of adventures with an aztec girl to collect six gold coins
to free her from slavery, and they go to the wild west to find the first.

Book Review - Time Hunters, Cowboy Showdown by Chris Blake
This is a 7+ #timetravel adventure that has similarities to my own novel. It’s a boy and girl, going back in time to retrieve something, they also go back in a cyclone, snap.
The concept of this series is interesting as it introduces children to various historical eras. In short, Tom’s dad works in a museum. Tom releases Zuma, a slave girl, from an Aztec drum, to gain her freedom they have to go back and retrieve 6 coins, the 1st one being from the Wild West. This is the second series, Tom has been back in time before.
The book is a great introduction to the Wild West and has lots of historical information throughout and at the end. It also has gaming cards, encouraging children to read all the books in the series.
A great read for primary school pupils, as it engages them in history and hopefully leaves them wanting more.
