Maisy soon patches it up but along comes Eddie who is so big that he takes up all of the room in the pool! Not to worry, Maisy and Talullah can keep cool by showering under Eddie's trunk!

Lucy Cousins, BA Honours in Graphic Design from The Faculty of Arts and Architecture, Brighton Polytechnic, postgraduate degree from Royal College of Art, is an author-illustrator of children's books. She is best known for her books featuring Maisy Mouse but she has also published other children's books including one about Noah's Ark. She is a mother of four and lives in Hampshire, England. Her own children are the inspiration for her books whose age range is 2-8.

Maisy and her friend want to cool down from the summers heat and what better way than finding a pool! This is a very short children's story about finding a paddling pool, that springs a leak which gets fixed, gets taken over by their elephant friend,etc.

This book is full of bright colours, simple style but at the same time eye catching which I imagine would get the attention of young children with ease. I've been reading this book to kids around the 4 to 5 age range but I really think this book would easily appeal to even a younger demographic too.

Maisy's Pool by Lucy Cousins is book about solving problems and being flexible. This little picture book is big on helping the youngest children understand the power of problem solving. The bright illustrations and the simple text make this a great read-aloud for kindergarten students. Students enjoy the discussion questions so they can identify the problems in the story and discuss how the problems were solved.
I read this book with my kindergarten class and after we discussed the problems, we followed up with a lesson on story sequencing. This book was easily understood by students so they were able to discuss what happened in the beginning, middles, and at the end of the story.

Another fun Maisy book. They really are just the right level for two-year olds. Like Maisy Goes Camping: A Maisy First Experience Book, this book has Eddie the Elephant taking up too much space, but in this case, he makes things right by showering Maisy and Tallulah with water, so they all get to cool down. I hate to think that there is a bit of a fat joke here, though.

I'm a teacher to a class of 8 through 24 month olds, and have read this book book 4 or 5 times a day for the past 6 months. They ask for it over and over, and even the younger babies love it. There's a part where the elephant sits in the pool and there is no room for anyone else. The class loves this part and will laugh uproariously every single time. At the end when the elephant sprays his friends with his trunk the entire claps and cheers every time. I honestly am not even tired of reading it yet because it brings the class so much happiness

Maisy's pool is a cute story with cute drawings, which is perfect for the youngest of readers. In this story, Maisy and her friend, Tallulah are hot and so they set up a pool. The pool is damaged and all the water drains out. Maisy bandages it up. Maisy and Tallulah are very happy until Eddie comes along and gets into the pool. Since Eddie is an elephant, there is no room for Maisy and Tallulah in the pool. This problem is solved when Eddie uses his trunk as a sprinkler. Everyone is happy.

My daughter loves this book, but it makes me so sad. Maisy and Tallulah work really hard to get the wading pool ready and the moment it is, along comes Eddie and takes up the whole thing! Then Eddie sprays the water from the pool onto Maisy & Tallulah - spitting on them basically - so it's okay I guess? If this isn't some dark allegory for sexism and male privilege I don't know what Lucy Cousins thought she was doing.

I have always loved the simplicity of Lucy Cousins' Maisy books. Toddlers are drawn to the graphics and colours. Found some of these while going through the bookshelves. My son was instantly smitten with this little mouse.

Really like this book, mostly because Maisy is so cute! :D It is a very easy read. I would give this book to Kindergarten or 1st grade students to practice reading. There are bright colors throughout the book and it's a funny story.

In this book, Maisy and Tallulah put water in Maisy's pool, but it has a hole in it. So maisy covers it with tape and they got in the pool and cooled down.
