When this little gets in trouble, it’s Daddy to the rescue
THOMAS
Since a knee injury forced me into early retirement from pro hockey, I’ve spent all my time dedicated to charities helping under privileged children. The press and my fans would never understand my private life, but I’d love nothing more than to be Daddy to a sweet baby boy. The most I can hope for is a vacation fling at a kinky retreat.
However, before I even arrive in Bali, I already find myself sweeping in to take care of one Arlington Hythe-Wandsworth. He’s hopeless…and perfect. But we live an ocean apart and both of us would be ruined if our secrets came out.
So I vow to spend this week together teaching him what he should be looking for in a good Daddy, nothing else. My heart wants more, though, even if I know giving in to temptation will only break me when we go our separate ways.
ARLO
Okay so calling me ‘clueless’ might be putting it mildly. As the heir to my affluent family’s name and business, I’ve led a sheltered, privileged life. So it’s no surprise that when I sneak away on my first solo trip, I almost immediately get robbed. It could have been so much worse if my new friend Thomas hadn’t been there to save me, though!
Even though he’s dreamy handsome, kind, and funny, he says he’s not looking for a relationship. Besides, he lives in New York, and I’m never going to escape my family’s estate in Wiltshire, England. But he’s promised to spend the rest of our week together showing me what I should be looking for in the perfect Daddy. Not kissing or anything. He says I need someone to take care of me so I can finally let my inner little free without putting myself in danger or my horrid family crushing me with their disapproval.
However, the more time we spend together, the harder it is for me to see who could possibly be a better Daddy than Thomas. I’m not sure what I can do before I lose him forever.
Arlo is part of A Daddy for Summer, a multi-author series. This book features a large and angry stray cat called Jolly, pirates in search of treasure, not enough beautiful sunsets, two idiots who need to get out of their own way, and a guaranteed HEA with absolutely no cliffhanger. All the books in this series are standalones, but each Daddy is going to spend a magical summer with his boy, so why not stay and read them all?

She began writing at an early age, later honing her craft online in the world of fanfiction on sites like Wattpad. Fifteen years and over half a million words later, she sought out original MM novels to read. Two men take an airplane journey to escape...one from his over-bearing family who think that it's their responsibility to run his life even though he's 24 years old, and one to take some needed time from his grueling work schedule. Both, on their way to a retreat in Bali.
The two of them are both either very naive...or... just completely clueless, judging by the time they spend dancing around each other. I wanted to remind them that they only had 10 days in this paradise...so get with it guys! This story is a 'mixed bag" of emotions for sure. Sometimes you will laugh in genuine humor and sometimes in frustration, but eventually they start to get it.
They soon understand that one is a "Daddy", and one is a "boy"...together they are exactly what each other wants and needs in their hectic lives. They do such "fun-sounding" things together on this retreat. They go to the beach to search for "pirate treasure", they adopt a stray cat, they build a cave out of blankets...and they begin to learn about each other's lives...one in New York and the other in London. A long world apart, they want to desperately...but can they make this work? It has a hilarious, "happy ever after" ending that is worth every cent that this little book cost.
Having now read several of the books in this series, I can say that this one is definitely in the running for favorite book in the multi-author "A Daddy for Summer" series.
Two men get on a plane to paradise and one loses the good sense the other one never had... two clueless men dance around each other in paradise and the reader laughs out loud sometimes in genuine humour and sometimes in frustration, but I'll tell you it works...
I love that these two go hunting for pirate treasure, befriend an otherwise aloof stray cat and slow burn their way to a summer sweet HEA! The ending is fittingly dramatic and totally worth the emotional pain of watching these two men trip over themselves to be a good boy and a perfect daddy...
Having now read several of the books in this series, I can say that Arlo is definitely a top contender for favourite book in the multi-author A Daddy for Summer series in this reader's opinion!

This was a nice age play story as Arlo found his perfect Daddy and managed to escape the confines of his family and their expectations. It was great that they found each other so quickly. A very sweet story with a happy ending. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content and a BDSM-like DDLB dynamic.
Ima gush about this book, k? It's my review and I can do that, right??
Cos what this is, is a whole bunch of sweet and smexy; cute and downright angry enducing; cat rescuing and pirate fighting (not literally, mind) and the cutest Lolo ever!
I mean, come on! Thomas needs a boy of his own, and Arlo just needs someone to love him. His parental units have mapped out a life for Arlo that he does not want, but he cannot fight them. Thomas helps him see, really see himself for the first time in his life. And I loved Thomas for Arlo.
I loved how Thomas was able to interpret Arlo talking about the pirates and what that really meant. Loved that, cos at first, I wasn't getting it, and then I had a lightbulb moment!
Loved how, at first, Arlo was adamant that there would be no grown up feelings/stuff. He soon changed his mind, but it was ARLO who moved the goalposts, and no pressure was put on him, at all.
Hated the parental units and how they made Arlo feel.
Loved what Thomas does for Jolly!
I'm gonna wrap up, or I'll go on and on, and a ranting review does not a good review make!
I LOVED THIS!
Every time Ms Welch writes these kinds of books, I think it's the best yet, and here we go again! Her best one yet!!
Arlo has amazingly good luck in spite of sickeningly bad parents. He seems to find the right people in the right places at the right time, and even stray cats and kids love him. Yet all he dreams of is finding the purrfect Daddy who loves independent cats that know who to be part of the crew.
Daddy is a damaged former professional Ice Hockey player. He knows how to defend his territory and stick it to the pucker causing all the trouble on the way to reaching his goals. Tom is not a very good name for Thomas the famous skater who now struggles with a bum knee and a dream to become a loving Daddy for a Good Boy. His fame and fortune have helped him achieve his other important goals until Arlo gets on the same plane to Bali as Tom after being returned his lost passport and boarding pass at the airport gate.
Jolly takes over as the entertainment director at the Resort to complete the crew for the 10 day adventure at the beach getaway for Daddys and Boys. It is all good. But it gets even better
Arlo is a sweet guy who has a lot of familial pressure to take over the family business, get married, and have a baby. His parents have never accepted him or ever truly seen him as anything other than a possession. A vacation to Bali for a Daddy/little get-together suddenly puts him in the path of Thomas, sexy ex hockey player and Daddy. Together, they decide to try being Daddy/boy for the duration of their vacation. As they explore together, it becomes obvious that Arlo has never been allowed to truly be himself, and Thomas is overjoyed to be able to be a safe space for him. Sadly, their time is up, and Arlo has to return to his responsibilities. Thomas realizes he loves Arlo and plans a grand gesture to show him how important he is. Thankfully, everything works out, and I also loved the inclusion of Jolly, the pirate cat.
Absolutely loved this Arlo: is part of the Daddy for Summer series it's cute, funny and beautiful. Thomas & Arlo are amazing together from their first meeting to spending the week in Bali together being daddy Thomas and his little boy LoLo not forgetting a cat called Jolly, pirates searching for treasure amazing sunsets new friends it's something special.
When a week away from their normal every day lives brings Thomas and Arlo together, Thomas can’t help but step in and be the Daddy he was meant to be. A week spent in discovering treasure, spending precious moments together and befriending mischievous cats, Thomas and Arlo quivering come to realise that they are meant to be.
This was a lovely Daddy/little read with moments of humour, emotion and a lovely HEA.
I’ve loved every book I’ve read from this author and was so delighted when I was saw a new book coming out!
I fell in love with Arlo in the first chapter and had such a blast with those 2 in Bali. Arlo was cute, Thomas was lovely and I loved getting a cameo from Andreas and his 2 boys from a previous book!
I absolutely loved little Arlo, or should I say LOLO and his daddy Thomas helping him practice. The entire island pirate treasure adventure was unique, and I found myself constantly smiling at all of it. They were both trying so hard to not try hard it was hilarious and clumsy. Jolly, the cat they just ended up with was the icing on the fun cake. Fantastic summer read.
Arlo is such an enchanting, emotional and fabulous book. I cried happy tears due to 3 favourite characters popping up and then sad tears around the 67% mark. The characters as always from Helen Juliet/HJ Welch are superb and this is a book I'm definitely going to re-read!!
Many Thanks to Helen Juliet for my copy of this awesome book.
4,5 stars A Daddy for Summer: Arlo by Helen Juliet writing as HJ Welch is part of A Daddy for Summer series by multiple authors. This is the story of Arlo and Thomas. I loved their story! It was sweet, full of feels and very well written. Arlo is such a cutie and Thomas his perfect Daddy.
MM, Daddy/boy, Age Play, Contemporary, Romance. A standalone read in a multi author series, heartwarming and emotional with steam and angst, this is a page-turner with great characters, a lil drama and a guaranteed HEA.
This story was fantastic! I devoured it in one sitting. I loved every page. I laughed with them, cried with them, and started planning my own trip to Bali. Truly fantastic story
