Very cute! Even though "even" does not rhyme with "seven," it's still a sweet little book for beginning readers, that can also reinforce counting skills.

My four year old loved this book. We have one that follows the same structure but is shorter, and it’s always been a favorite of hers so I think she liked the combination of familiarity and that there were many animals featured.
Following the traditional “over in the meadow” structure, this book counts animals up to ten.

Drawings are simple and bright, nice for toddlers. The rhyme doesn't always rhyme but that's alright. lol

What I'd really like is a version of this "traditional counting rhyme" that matches Raffi's lyrics and is illustrated by Ezra Jack Keats. As that doesn't exist, this book is a pleasant enough alternative. I like it because it is a sing-along book for a song other than the over-published "Old MacDonald" and "monkeys on the bed" songs, and the watercolour illustrations are gentle (if somewhat bland).
