This book is really fun for tweens. A great mix of sports drama and espionage plus plenty of twists and turns makes it a real fun, easy read.

This is fun middle grade read. It's the kind of book I'd have snatched up from the library when I was a young reader. The word "Spy" would've grabbed me instantly (I was really into that stuff back then), and the baseball aspect would've interested me, too, since I was more into the sport back then. Scott's writing is fast-paced and uncomplicated, perfectly written for the target age level. Looking forward to the next installment.

Highly recommend this for kids in grades 3-6, depending on reading level. It probably skews a little more toward 4/5. My daughter, a rising fourth-grader, loved it so I read it as well. It’s a spy novel with a lot of baseball scenes, so while your child doesn’t HAVE to love baseball to read it, I think he/she will enjoy it more. Major cliff-hanger at the end too!!

Great read!!

I bought this for my 12-yr old baseball-playing grandson who told me he does NOT like to read.... so I bribed him to read it... he said it was the best book he's ever read!! Oh, and Mimi read it too, and I very much enjoyed the book!

Our family loved this book! Lots of twists and turns that kept us all on our toes. The audiobook was well done and my boys (ages 10 and 11) both said it was one of their favorite reads of 2025. We can’t wait for the next book to come out!

I read this because Scott coming to do program. I really enjoyed it, well written, kept me guessing on who
“Spy” was. I really hoped we would find out Zach’s dad was alive, and he was! Happy ending. Would recommend for upper elementary- middle school age kids.
