Needed a quick inbetween book so gave this one a go. It's only 83 pages according to Goodreads so I didn't expect a lot of character development.
It was of course, insta love. But the writing was actually pretty decent and it had quite a bit of steam.
Interesting storyline....that really had a lot more potential had it been a full length book.

June 23, 2014Mandi at SmexyBooks put a scene from Indecent Exposure up on her Smex Scene Sunday feature a little while back and after reading it, I one-clicked this book ten seconds later. This book is super hot, totally dirty, and written with a level of sexual tension that was near paralyzing while reading it. I don't even want to give any details about it, because you should just read it and enjoy. It reminds me of the best Charlotte Stein, keeping us deep in the heroine's POV as she dives deep into experiences she never expected to have. It's great. :)

A quick, dirty read that I couldn't put down. We've got a little voyeurism fun going on, by means of erotic photography, an office quickie, and an alleyway BJ, just to name a few highlights. It's so good. I'm glad this was recommended to me (thanks Amanda!) and thanks Heather for gifted it to me right after that. Now I think I need to go treat myself to the 2 and 3 installment. For science. >.>

Why I read it: The author contacted me requesting a review and sent me a NetGalley link.
What worked for me (and what didn’t): I probably accept less than 10% of direct review requests. I have limited time and a massive TBR so the email has to get my attention and blurb has to hook me. This one did. I finished a book last night and was flailing about for something to read. Sometimes, when I can’t decide what I should read next (because having so many books can feel paralysing as Liz eloquently says here), I choose a novella. It’s not a big commitment and it works as a kind of palate cleanser for me. So, I opened Indecent Exposure.
I suppose the first couple of paragraphs were just a little on the clunky side but after that, I was completely reeled in (to complete the fishing metaphor). The story is told in the first person present tense POV of Ellie Smithson, photographer by day, erotic photographer by night (well, sometimes that’s during the day too). She kind of fell into it to pay the bills and she’s found it’s not only lucrative, she’s very good at it. Basically, people come and have sex (alone, with someone else, etc) in front of her and she takes classy photographs of them. It turns her on unbearably but she feels safe behind the camera.

Meh. After an interesting/funny set-up, the characters were either boring or annoying. The heroine seemed to have a lot of unnecessary angst and liked to self-destruct, so when I was expecting a light funny read, I was wallowing in angst city. It might be a preference thing. I like erotic heroines who are funny and know what the like and want, not angsty messes who are so repressed they can't even say "fuck" out loud. The scenes were hot, but I didn't really like or care about the characters, so I lost interest.

Oh my goodness this was hot. And dirty. Wow. The writing reminded me a lot of Charlotte Stein, which is definitely a good thing since I'm going through Stein withdrawals waiting for her next book. Definitely continuing this series!

Whew!! While that was hot, it was short and rushed in places. A great super quick read if you are looking for some spice. I'd would have liked to see more with these characters do things didn't seem so fast. Great story idea

So, let me get this straight... the MFC takes pornographic pictures for everyday couples, but she's offended by the words "f*ck" and "d*ck" - so much so that it comes up multiple times in this short story? AND on top of that, she shows these extremely private pictures to other clients without consent?
The MFC is written terribly. She's massively insecure, immature, and unprofessional.
DNF at 27%, but I skipped a lot to even get to that point.

This was a super dirty novella that was perfect for my reading slump. I love voyeurism in romance (erotic romance usually) and this starts out with Ellie, the buttoned-up heroine, taking erotic photos of her best friend giving Ellie’s accountant and secret crush a blowjob. Hijinks ensue. Something about this reminded me a bit of Charlotte Stein books I’ve read.

I am always a bit skeptical when I go into a story that I know is going to be really short, as I usually don't ever end up believing in the relationship between the hero and heroine. But I think that when it comes to Erotica, the odds are better that I will like the story despite the short length. So when I was presented with the opportunity to read the Indecent Trilogy by Jane O'Reilly, I figured these had a good chance of being ones that I would enjoy. I was surprised just how much I ended up liking Indecent Exposure! This book really started off the trilogy with a bang, and I have to tell you I can't wait to read more from O'Reilly!
Ellie is a photographer who does portraits and weddings, but she also does erotic photography and bedroom shoots. She doesn't advertise the fact that she takes these photos and would do just about anything to keep people from finding out. So when her best friend Amber shows up with Ellie's accountant Tom and says she needs to have Ellie take some of the two of them, Ellie begins to worry. Ellie feels like she owes Amber which is the only reason that she agrees. Not only does Ellie not want her accountant to know about her side job, but she also has had a huge crush on him for the last three years that they have known each other. When Tom and Ellie find themselves acknowledging the attraction between them, lines quickly become blurred and soon they are mixing business and pleasure. Can they turn their attraction and lust into something more?
I really liked Tom. I loved that he was so put together in appearance and had such a straight-laced job and facade. But then he was as Ellie would call him a bit of a pervert when it came to his desires. I liked how much he pushed Ellie's boundaries and got her to open up to him. I also really loved that he had liked her before and even though he knew her secret, he didn't embarrass her or say anything. It was really sweet that he let her come to him and decide how and when she was ready to open up to him. I thought that it was really sweet of him to give her his trust by allowing her to take photos of him that could be hurtful if they got out. It showed just how much he thought of Ellie. I liked Ellie. I thought that she was a bit shy and a little bit too worried at times about others finding out who she was and what she did. But I liked that she didn't hesitate too much with Tom, and that she allowed him to help her open up. He really drew her out of her shell, and I think that they were great for each other. These two were also really hot together, and I loved how open they were. They really brought the steam, and I loved every bit of it.
Overall, I really liked this short story. I thought that it was really well written and I was drawn in from the very start. This one packed a ton of heat into a short amount of pages, and I felt like all of it was extremely natural. I really believed in how real Ellie and Tom's feelings were, and I never once questioned it because their connection and chemistry was so strong. One of the reasons that this one didn't receive five stars from me was the fact that Ellie's best friend Amber irritated me. She seemed to be extremely selfish and she honestly didn't seem to be that good of a friend. She didn't notice how Ellie felt about Tom at all, and she was pretty much focused only on her own drama. It was hard to believe that this was the friend that Ellie felt like she owed so much to. I think that this book was a great start to the trilogy though, and I was so glad that I took a chance on this one! This might be a super quick read, but its also really hot! I highly recommend this one to anyone looking to spend a few hours with a couple of really likable characters that are smoking hot together. I can't wait to read more from Jane O'Reilly in the future.

Despite thoroughly enjoying Indecent…Exposure, my only qualm about this short story was that I felt that Tom and Ellie resolved the issues that were keeping them apart far too quickly and abruptly and would have liked more space to have been devoted to their emotional journey, but due to the restricted word count of short stories, this wasn’t possible.
Readers looking for a fast-paced quick read to brighten up their day, should look no further then Jane O’Reilly’s Indecent stories. With two further installments to go, I can’t wait to see what mischief her characters get up to next!

Jane O'Reilly--you are my new favorite author! Probably because you could be Charlotte Stein's hornier little sister--yeah, it's that good.
I learn so much from books! Who knew that being a photographer could lead to you taking erotic pics of your bestie blowing some hot stud...who happens to be your ACCOUNTANT?! This, I did not know. Knowledge--it's a good thing.
Yeah, this is the accountant you've lusted after for years but couldn't make a move on because he was camouflaged by so much...khaki.
And who knew that accountants had such amazing equipment...and I ain't talking about abacuses...underneath those pleated Dockers? This, I did not know. If I had, I would've done more cruising at H&R Block.
And who knew that accountants could actually feel the same way about a client and sport some tremendous wood...and I ain't talking about a nicely sharpened pencil, though there is something very satisfying about a sharp pencil rather than one that's worn down, because of the way it glides across the paper...and am I really talking about a pencil when there is Hot Accountant Sex waiting around the desk? Apologies--I will save my Staples fantasies for later...

Ellie can't get Tom out of her mind, so of course she must get him into her vagina. A lot. Like, you'd need Tom's 10-key to keep track of all the times they Do It. You have given me a new respect for the field of accounting.

But Tom is patient and kind and well-endowed and could do their joint taxes should they ever get married, so it works out in the end.
Ms. O'Reilly packs a lot of heat and angst and love in a short amount of time (this book is novella length), and it's decadently delicious.

I was completely stunned by this brilliant piece of fiction. Stunned. It owned me from the very first line through the perfect ending. And oh my goodness, the naughtiness!
Ellie is a brilliant heroine – creative, controlled, worried about what other people think. Her entire life, though, is one big game of hide and seek. She hides behind the lens of her camera, avoiding real life interactions. She hides how much she enjoys taking erotic photographs because she worries about what people will think. But that’s not all she hides.
Tom…how on earth did Jane make an accountant so sexy? Trust me, Ellie’s description of him didn’t really seem attractive at first, but then she digs a little deeper. She tells you more than just how ugly and boring his brown suit is, she tells you about his muscles and his large hands, about the bird tattoo in an…intimate location. She takes a boring accountant and turns him into someone you want to drag off into a dark alley and do dirty things with.
The story is a quick read but well worth the investment. This is no PWP, this tale has heart and soul and will make you feel for these characters while you hope they get to a bedroom…or a couch…or an alley. Seriously.

Naughty! Naughty! Naughty fun! Whew. Indecent Exposure, the breakout erotic romance by Jane O’Reilly (Carina Press/UK) knocked my socks off! Man, does this plot start off with a BANG. The first in a 3 novella series, these three volumes all focus on people who are losing their inhibitions to improve their lives. In Exposure, Ellie is a wedding photographer who takes candid erotic black and whites on the side. Her best friend Amber has convinced her to photograph a session of fellatio with a man she has brought in off the street: the photos will be a gift to her ex, who is now engaged to another woman.
Ellie is uncomfortable with Amber’s request: but she feels obligated and is too afraid or ashamed of her deepest secret to say no. But, Amber brings back Tom, Ellie’s accountant and focus of her single crush for years. What she doesn’t realize is that Tom is more interested in Ellie than Amber, but Ellie can’t get past her fear that Tom will not accept her secret.
Tom sets out on a slow seduction: well, the seduction isn’t slow, but the sharing and proving he enjoys and likes her for more than just their steamy moments is a more lengthy process, and once you pass the early paragraphs, Ellie’s voice starts to take shape and the writing is quite smooth and descriptive. Entirely obsessed with inhibitions and losing them, and while all the characters arrive broken in some form, they are given the tools and the person that will help them start to heal together.

This erotic novella is the story of Ellie, a respectable photographer by day who dabbles in more erotic scenarios on the side and Tom, her accountant who unwittingly becomes one of her subjects. I really enjoyed this story! Ellie is portrayed as a woman who keeps her voyeuristic tendencies well hidden, exposing her side career to very few people who know her in real life. Crossing those boundaries by photographing a man she knows well in a completely platonic setting is both exciting and nerve wracking for her. Tom, on the other hand, is happy to finally be able to show his sexual side to Ellie (in more ways than one), having fantasized about her in their business meetings. Having Ellie photograph him turns him on as much as it does her, and leads to several steamy scenes where it becomes evident that in fact there is more to this burgeoning relationship than just sex. As well, there are some interesting twists and turns to the plot that I totally didn't see coming and that gave the story an added dimension. I found this to be a really smart and fun read. 4 stars.

Jane O'Reilly's Indecent ... Exposure was an ... strange erotic story.
It wasn't bad exactly, but it wasn't good either.
It's a story about erotic photographer and her accountant . They both fancy each other and they both have secrets and they both think that the other does not see them that way. So one unbelievable thing (I can't do this! Well, I can not not do this! What if he knows the truth! What if my other customers know what I do! An accountant is not an sexual person, how can he say all those words, his an accountant (read: robot apparently).) leads to other and at the end they end up together. And after they both open up to each other, as usual something happens that tears them apart ... but at the end they kiss, say their I love yous and all is well that ends well.
The story had it's pumps and skips and moments when rabbit come out from the wrong hat, but all in all, it wasn't very bad, it just wasn't good either.

Ellie is a photographer who, as a sideline, also takes erotic photographs. She finds herself embroiled in something which starts off quite innocently, but very quickly turns into something far from innocent.
The way the author intertwines the lives of the characters, and the storyline they find themselves in, caught me unawares. I honestly didn't see it coming, pardon the pun!
This story finishes with the first few chapters of book 2 which involves one of the characters from book 1.
I loved this short story, the way the author describes everything is spot on, she kept my attention very well throughout. I can't wait to read more in this trilogy.

The setup: Ellie (heroine) is a closet erotic photographer on the side. To make it clear, she takes photos of couples "doing it". One day her cover is blown when her best bud Amber brings along Tom Hunt who is Ellie's crush of 3 years. Amber wants to get hot photos of her giving Tom a BJ in order to get back at her cheating ex-boyfriend. After that moment, Tom and Ellie's attraction for each other is too irresistible to resist. Both are closet freak a deeks and have finally met their match.
The pros: Short and sexy. I've read a lot of yummy books and this book was definitely hot in terms of sex scenes and dirty talk.
The cons: I couldn't completely connect with the heroine Ellie. There were times that I wanted to just smash my face on my keyboard cause homegirl was such a pushover for majority of the book. To her credit, she got her head out of her ass at the very end.

Something happens during the session that makes Elle think that maybe her account has the same feeling as she does. Elle decides to stop living behind the camera and start living in front of it she just hopes that her accountant will take the plunge with her. Things get hot and dirty, but Elle still does not know Tom's true feelings. Things blow up in her face. Elle is tired of being reserved, she needs to give it one more shot with Tom. It is time for her to live her life to the fullest, even if that means getting her heart broken. Fabulous ending.

Ellie is a photographer, who takes erotic photos on the side. She is keyed up, scared and unsure of herself. Tom is her accountant. He is awkward, gawky and super hot. They have been crushing on each other but didn't have the nerve to do anything about it. The embarrassment and tension oozed off the pages. Ellie and Tom are so scared and embarassed of the feelings they have for each other. I wish this was longer so more of their issues could have been worked out, Ellie's dyslexia and Tom's pyromania.

Cover caught my attention. This was an okay read but I had some problems with it. Liked that the hero was a nerdy accountant. Don't see too many of those. Heroine is an erotic photographer. Very interesting concept/premise.
This was an insta-love, which is not my favorite trope. Also, the leads didn't use a condom, nor did they discuss protection.
I didn't like that Ellie lied about not getting the shot. And it was awkward that Ellie took pictures of Tom getting intimate with her best friend.

I liked the first of this, and I liked the end, but the middle was a little squishy. There was a lot of set-up for the sequel, I guess. The premise was quite steamy, and the main characters were likable. But I didn't feel like the secondary characters were at all appealing, so I won't be rushing to the sequel. Overall, short but satisfying.
