There's a trio of pals who are being split up for a few months, two of them being cousins. One girl is from New York and the other two are more into ranches and horses. At this point various adventures have left them with a mustang mare, Shadow, not broken yet, and they are in Canada but not at Mustang Mountain ranch, learning barrel racing with another two young people they meet. This book was truly amazing. It connects with the characters and horses. I couldn't put the book down and wanted to keep turning the page. There was never a boring bit.

The ending was amazing but there is always one character that you wish had a little more time and wasn't so selfish. Then again, there is always a character you can relate to and feel sorry for just like I did with Becky. The surroundings, emotions, horses were all perfect and nothing was out of place.
