Six year old boy says this was a great book. I liked the monkeys best because my favorite stuffed animal is a monkey. I liked the tapir least because of the nose. We want to know how the photos were taken? We’re the photographers leaving fast on a helicopter? Or more likely my son thinks they took the photos at the zoo from a safe spot.
This science book is a great informational science book for secondgraders.I think it is important to expose students to animals that live in the rainforest so that they see what features the animals have and why it is important to them. They can compare how some features benefit animals in ways that they do not benefit humans. A good activity to do with them would be to pick an animal that lives in the rain forest and maybe do some research on it and then recreate that animal in a creative way pointing out it's important features.
