A sound, pragmatic understanding of the behaviours that affect health is presented in this study. It explains experimental design and critique studies and their findings and offers an increased emphasis on psychological interventions.
I like the format of this textbook. The frequent summaries within each chapter were very helpful when it came to studying. It was easy to read and follow. It has a nice layout. At times it felt a little wordy or like it was explaining the obvious, but I think that might just be the nature of the subject matter. On the whole, it was a suitable textbook for my class and wasn't difficult to read and enjoy (relatively speaking).
Brannon and Feist have done a good job putting together a cohesive and easy to follow text book, but it is super dry and difficult to get through. There must be a more interesting Health Psychology text book out there.
This was a required textbook. It was okay, but I felt like the writing was a bit confusing. Definitely not as well written as some of the other textbooks.
