A bad girl trying to turn over a new leaf, her charismatic superstar boyfriend—and his rival teammate she used to dance for—go down to spring training in this steamy angsty why choose romance.

When I was young, I dreamed of being a ballerina. Then my dance career ended up on an entirely different stage, the kind that comes with a pole. After an injury puts me out of work, I’m forced to regroup: new job, new degree…and new boyfriend. Blake Forsyth, the Boston Monsters’ new first baseman who just signed a monster contract. Blake’s everything I’ve been dreaming of—which is why baseball’s golden boy with an untarnished image can never know about my past.

Everything is going fine until a surprise snowstorm derails our flight to spring training. Now we have to drive from Boston to Florida. The other problem? Blake invites someone else along for the ride: Felix Paquette, his gruff, bearish teammate who’s vying for the same spot on the roster—and who used to be my best customer when I danced.

We only have to get through three days together without all my secrets spilling out. I can’t let my past get in the way of my future—especially not the feelings for Felix I’ve worked so hard to leave behind. But as they say…anything can happen on the open road.

Bad girl Shira wants to do better (since she is leaving her previous work behind). However, she might have a tricky situation on her hands with Felix and Blake (two baseball players). Blake is her new boyfriend. He invited Felix (his competitor) and his girlfriend to help drive from Boston to Florida. To make things more dicey, Felix is the previous guy who enjoyed Shira's earlier (naughtier) job. Now she needs to take a few days' drive with these two men.

SPICE: 🔥🔥🔥💥

I loved this one so much! I love the way the relationship unfolds in this one and I always want to just beg Aimee for more after the end, because her characters always steal my heart.

This has such deliciously complicated relationships between the main characters and I absolutely LOVED every second of watching these babies figure it out. I’m glad this is why choose, because I couldn’t pick between Blake and Felix either 🤣

TROPES ⬇️

Adult Dancer FMC
Road Trip
Baseball Romance
Forced Proximity
MMF relationship

The premise of this one has me kicking my feet waiting for it all to unfold. Shira was a “dancer” who had a top customer she developed feelings for who disappeared out of her life a few months back. Now she’s dating the golden boy baseball player and when they get snowed in on the way to spring training, decide to drive down to Florida with a teammate… and guess who it is?

Blake is a such a sweet golden boy, and I loved him, but I also loved Felix’s gruff nature and a bit of bossiness. Then Shira is just so relateanle and I was rooting for these three to figure it out.

The hot tub scene lives rent free in my head and I loved their ending so much!

There is just simply no one who does Why Choose better than Aimee. This is the second one I’ve read by her, and she quite literally knocked it out of the ballpark!

Her characters are so real and so raw, and somehow they all fit together so flawlessly. The angst, the sexual tension, their chemistry; it’s all off the charts.

This book was the perfect lead up of how the Blake, Felix, and Shira all end up together. And the elements of Felix and Shira knowing each other ahead of time brought an element of intrigue to the story line. I also love how perfectly imperfect Blake was, and how Shira and Felix completed him. 🥹

Also; it goes without saying but the spice was SPICY with this one. Seriously can’t recommend this book enough!! If you’re never read a Why Choose Romance before you absolutely must read!!

i know this is only her 2nd book but aimee is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors!!
the thing about me is that i’m a why choose girlie through & through so that’s what originally drew me to aimee but i stayed for the writing. she writes characters that are so welcoming and comforting and safe, and that’s exactly how i felt with shira, felix, & blake

i loved the 3 of them so much and i’m so happy aimee decided they worth a full-length novel <3

i’m also super freakin excited for cleat chaser!! i can’t wait to find out why (redacted) is the way that they are. right now i lowkey hate them so i’m excited to become obsessed when their book comes out!

thank you aimee for the arc!!

Thank you to Aimee Rivkin for allowing me to read a copy of this book. I cannot express how much I loved this book. The characters went through such a journey throughout this book, and it just touched my heart. Yes, this book is steamy, but it also has such a great plot. I also loved Rivkin's writing style, and honestly, I would be delighted to read more from them in the future. 100/10 recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a wonderful why-choose baseball romance to read.

I’ve been so excited for Aimee’s second novel! I loved her debut and the Triple Play teasers had me super excited. I love road trip romances and the poly variant has been delightful.

I started loving the book in the prologue with Felix and Shira. Omg, their chemistry was BIG. When they reunited months later I could still sense the obvious unresolved feelings between them. Blake was a perfect addition, such a sweetheart! Honestly, the three of them are the biggest cutie patooties ever. They have a long-ish emotional slowburn that I very much enjoyed, and the physical side of their relationship was amazing as well. I did love how their story is more focused on the emotional side since the three of them have issues to work through, and the importance of that didn’t get lost in the steam.

You’ll have to read this one to see what comes next, but I gotta say the announcement surprised me a lot! I am very curious about Aimee’s third book. I love a redemption arc!

Rating: 4/5

Another wonderful trio from Aimee ⚾️

This was a fun why choose with two baseball players and the girl they both love.
Felix I love you forever 🤌
Shira had lots of self-doubt and feelings of not being worthy to deal with throughout but Blake and Felix were perfect for helping her overcome that while also dealing with their own issues.

Things to expect:
•lots of secrets (one big one)
•former ballet dancer who also danceddddd if you know what I mean
•road trip with lots of hotel stays including some coaching in a hot tub 🥵
•learning to accept yourself
•slow burn
•lots of emotions
•lots of pining

I would recommend if you're looking for (SPOILERS)

-mfm conemporary romance
-polyam
-second chance
-roadtrip
-sports romance
-sword crossing

I devoured this one. so enjoyed this journey of 3 people on a roadtrip, and fighting what the world expects of them and the preasures they've put on themselves. This was such a lovely look at accepting who you are and being loved for exactly who you are. And the spice was spicin. I'll read anything Aimee writes.

This is what I've been looking for in a Why Choose. It handled all three POVs really well without losing chemistry or going over the top in slotting them into specific roles. Really it was just rooted in the relationships and that was great?

The details—flights getting banged, Felix turning his nose up at Waffle House syrup, Blake's walk up song being Sam Hunt—were just so good, too?

Personally I wanted a little more development of Felix/Blake—especially because Blake is just starting to acknowledge that part of himself—and some more resolution after Blake found out about Shira and Felix's past; it resolved so quick it came across as a bit glossed over. And, I guess while I'm wishing for things, Felix deserved his own epilogue, too.

That said, this was a lot of fun and I'm looking forward to checking out more from Rivkin. 3.5 stars, rounded up.

“You ever find yourself hoping for impossible things?”

Once again, Aimee hit this one right out of the park! Did I fall for a guy in a strip club? Well, if it's Felix Paquette, how could I not? The rugged farm boy worried about losing his spot on the team, longing for the girl who got away. The angst was so palpable, you could FEEL it!

“Walking away is easy as long as you don’t look back.”

Oh, Shira! The dancer with a dream, the one always fighting for those she loved but never feeling worthy of that love. Well, this book was her time to shine! She was so strong and independent, resilient despite what life threw at her. Maybe others thought she was a bit much but not those who could truly see her for who she was. And I could see a little of myself in her too.

“I’m not sure there’s a way you could look where I wouldn’t think you were beautiful.”

Blake, the golden boy, Shira's boyfriend and the guy currently competing for Felix's spot on the roster, the one who seemed perfect, like he was good at everything. I wasn't sure if I liked him at first since he had a bit of a power play dynamic going on with Felix and he seemed to be inattentive to Shira's needs. But underneath his calm self-assured demeanor, a lifetime of uncertainty lingered below the surface. When his insecurities and imperfections came to light, his struggles in asking for what he truly wanted will make you just want to simply give him the strength and encouragement he needed.

I loved these three SO much! A story of loving someone, all of them, with all their imperfections and accepting them for who they are without judgment or shame. Chase your dreams but never sacrifice yourself along the way. There was so much tenderness beneath the angst and within the secrets kept hidden, real raw emotions and vulnerability throughout. I loved the moments spent stargazing and the way Felix's family farm was worked into the plot. And then when I read the last line of the bonus epilogue, I was completely and truly done for! I cannot wait to revisit these characters again soon and see what Aimee comes up with next.

"Our, our, our. A word that hums in time with pulse."

Aimee Rivkin did it again! Another poignant, tender, sex-positive, raw, sweet, swoony, SEXY, utterly beautifully written Why Choose story!

Here's the thing about Aimee's work: I feel safe there. And I feel that way because Aimee's characters keep each other safe. The way they're always looking out for one another, checking in with one another, taking steps to make each other feel safe and seen and loved and wanted - AH! I need this in everything I read.

Even when the characters are keeping secrets (and there are a few secrets being kept), you get it, because they're trying to protect themselves and each other, because they've all been hurt by the sting of rejection from people who SHOULD love them (like their families) but who have made that love conditional.

By the end of the book, I couldn't believe how little time had passed -- I was so immersed with each character and so invested in their stories that I felt I'd been traveling with them for weeks. I truly believed in their friendships, their webs of attraction, and their Big Feelings.

Oh, and this book is SUPER HOT. But of course it was, because Aimee is an absolute master at steamy scenes that are as caring as they are spicy. I absolutely adored the dynamic between Shira, Felix, and Blake, and the ways they give each other what they need, be it instruction, encouragement, or praise (we even get a "good boy" in here!).

I'll be thinking about Shira, Felix, and Blake for a long time.

Thank you, Aimee, for the advance copy.

Disclosure: Aimee and I are mutuals and friends, but I don't write gushing reviews for just anyone!!!

ARC BOOK REVIEW

Aimee's books are insanely good, I was obsessed with her first book, and now just having read her second, I can say I love her writing even more. Everything flows so smoothly and just hooks you straight into the plot. This book just completely blew me away, and I am fine by that.

Triple Play is a baseball romance book which follows former stripper Shira who I loved straight off page one, where that also happens that we meet a baseball player Felix, but no true names were shared to one another during their times together until Felix is at the airport getting ready to board his flight to Florida for his team when all flights get cancelled. But it does happen to another person on his team. Blake is there in the same situation but may also be taking Felix's spot on the team. Unbeknownst to Felix, Blake is there with his girlfriend... who happens to be Shira, and the three of them head out on a road trip from Boston to Florida where in that space of time, many things could happen.

This book had such an amazing way of hooking me in the beginning but it also kept me intrigued for the rest of the duration of the story just waiting impatiently to see what would happen between the three characters and how the truth would finally get out. Everything about this book was perfect, and it could not have been better. The tropes in this story all worked perfectly to bring the story together in such a sweet way. I can't wait to hopefully see these characters again and read more of Aimee's books in the future.

No one does why choose like Aimee! This was the perfect steamy baseball romance. Felix, Shira, and Blake were pure character perfection and I loved their dynamic relationships. I loved that there was a great blend of road trip and secretive plot mixed in with the spice!

Shira was so independent and I loved how much she cared for both Blake and Felix. 🩰

I’m gonna need someone to air mail me a Felix because I was in love with him! He was the sweetest and some of the spicy teach me scenes with him had me 🥵

Blake was so perfect on the outside but I was so happy to see him become his true self with Shira and Felix! ⚾️

This is a perfect blend of sports and why choose so definitely read it now! ❤️

Wanted to love this, ended up not. There’s a lot in the title that’s misleading. Calling this a sports romance is overly generous. The entire book is focused on a road trip and the guys happen to be baseball players. That’s it. Nothing sports related. The closest they come to anything sports is a one off scene of them talking to their coach at the end of the book. And imo why choose refers to reverse harems, which include 3+ guys. There were only 2. This was a ménage. Which I’m fine with, just not what I thought I was going to be reading going into it.

Would have been 3/5 for me, but I’m salty because I feel mislead, so 2/5.

The guys were cute but, overall, the relationships felt awkward and juvenile. Poor communication and withholding truth. And the epilogues were unnecessary. Only 2 of the 3 characters got an epilogue, both felt like they left things unfinished instead of satisfying closure. And the 3rd character didn’t get an epilogue pov at all, felt like he was pushed to the side, yet again.

Much different than I expected…

So I’ll start by saying I wanted more, but wanted less. I know I know that doesn’t make sense. I wanted more detail, but less words. It drug out in spots where I felt it could have been more condensed and I needed more details about who the characters are. It has an intriguing concept, good characters, possible plot that could have really gone somewhere and no baseball or sports was actually had. Essentially two baseball players, one woman, traveling to training camp, one vehicle, one room hotels, and a bi awakening. So don’t go into this thinking this is full of baseball. It’s not. Would I read more by this author? Sure! I always say to each their own and maybe someone else will think this is phenomenal so go for it and try it out for size!

I enjoyed this, but I didn't enjoy this... I spent 90% of the book mainly feeling bad for Felix!

It's good that this book made me like and care for all three characters, but my goodness. Felix had no flaws, Blake had no flaws and a little arc of development, and Shira had flaws that she didn't really have to confront or experience consequences for?!

Finally, one star off because what the heck -- Blake and Shira got epilogues, and Felix got shafted again!

Aimee Rivkin has done it again: another delightfully written slow burn, angsty, poignant, and sex-positive Why Choose story!

I'm an avid romance reader, but sports romance isn't usually my go-to. Aimee Rivkin, however, has proven the exception to the rule. I will read whatever she puts in front of me! Her characters make me feel safe and seen, their journeys to self- acceptance and healing are so emotionally raw and real.

It's wild to me that the whole book takes place over the span of a few days. There is so much growth and so many big feelings and realizations packed into such a short period of time.

The tension of the slow burn is perfection, and when the spice gets going it's absolute ❤️‍🔥 ❤️‍🔥 ❤️‍🔥 and more than worth the wait!

I loved Aimee's debut novel (Expanded Roster) so I was excited to read this one, too.

Whew! She brought the angst AND the spice. Imagine having to deal with all your major hang-ups and your significant others' hang-ups within just a few days.

That's the situation Aimee forced her characters into, but I loved how she made these character evolutions both fun and mature. Everyone became better versions of themselves -- partially by working things out in bed.

Triple Play by Aimee Rivkin

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

An engaging why choose MMF baseball romance for may be Ripken. It was full of instant spice. The characters have chemistry that is off the charts. When Shira goes on a road trip to Spring training with her boyfriend Blake, who is baseball‘s golden boy, she never expected him to ask his teammate, Felix along. Blake doesn’t know about her past as a pole dancer and Felix was her best customer. She just needs to get through three days without letting her pass and her feelings for Felix resurface.

The slow burn between the characters and their emotional growth kept me tearing the pages if you love steamy why choose romances with endearing characters this is a must read

Aside from the why choose factor, it was the road trip that really drew me into this one and boy was it fantastic! I could have read so much more of their road trip shenanigans. Felix and Shira’s start - her time as a dancer and he as one of her patrons - was intriguing. At first, when Blake was introduced, I wasn’t sure about him. He seemed a little uppity and stand-off-ish. But once the dynamics of the group started to shift, he mellowed out. Shira was just the right amount of playful to get the two guys to start getting along, which of course devolved into the lovely group spice that Aimee is so good at. There was a little bit of drama thrown in, of course, but this novel was mostly just spicy fun and I was happy for their HEA.

THE TENSION in this book was giving me anxiety 🤣 I just wanted to scream at them all that it was okay to all love each other! And then I actually did scream when they all actually did get together 🤣

The dynamic between the 3 was 🔥🔥🔥 I loved that Blake was a bit shy and inexperienced, the “teaching” moments from Felix were 🥵🥵🥵🥵 Who wouldn’t want to be Shira in this book?!

I do wish we would have seen a bit more of the “after” like baseball games or time on Felix’s farm, or just more because I really enjoyed these characters. I will definitely be reading more from this author.

What's worse than being stuck in a car with two hot baseball players on a road trip from Boston to Florida? Trick question, not much.

Well... unless one of those men used to visit you weekly at the strip club...

Shira finds herself in an impossible situation. Stuck in a car with her boyfriend, Blake, and his teammate, Felix. But Blake doesn't know that his girl and teammate have a history.

Oh my, let's talk about that sexual tension. Have you ever been like "ah, just do it already" lol seriousness, these three were so much fun, I definitely feel like I needed more of their story when it was over!

I picked this up wanting a quick, spicy read. it was that, but it was also so much more.

this was a lot more emotional than I had expected, and had some deeper scenes between the characters that I enjoyed. the spicy scenes were well written and throughout the entire book you could feel the sexual tension between the characters.

I did have some issues, though. deeper topics were explored, but I felt like they were resolved almost immediately after they came up. I felt that the relationships weren't really built enough.

overall a good book, but I think it could have benefited from being slightly longer and more fleshed out.

So Shira/Melody has a past she is ashamed of (even though she shouldn’t be)!! She met Felix during this time but it wasn’t their time yet! Blake was “perfect” and Shira tried to be perfect for him! Enter Felix and BOOM! Instant fireworks, chemistry and secrets…lots and lots of secrets!

This was a new take on forced proximity for me. I’ve never read a why choose where they were stuck in a car for an impromptu road trip! It was definitely new and refreshing!!

I am 100% loving this series! I love how the author starts with what seems like completely crazy combinations and totally makes it work! I can’t wait for book 3 to see where the next story takes me!

Yes girl! This is just so amazing. It reads fantastic yet again and I can say the author has done it again. In this case we follow Shira and now she is in a car with Felix and Blake, baseball players in Boston. Slow burn in three days done so well. The dialogue between the characters is great and natural and reads easily. The steam is there too and on point. Can say that this author is a rising star in sports romance and I am a fan for sure. Now this is MMF and not RH but still really good menage story.

Another great why choose romance from Aimee Rivkin! I loved her first book and I've been eagerly awaiting this one.
Blake, Felix, and Shira were just the sweetest. I loved the depth of each character and how it all came together. I always enjoy forced proximity so the fact that they had to drive from Boston to Florida and were stuck together for all of it was the perfect setting for this story.

Thank you to the author for my advanced copy!
