Tamsyn is my future. But my twisted past refuses to die…

I’m the worst thing that ever happened to Tamsyn Scott.

I’ve been obsessed with her sweet innocence since the second I laid eyes on her. So I followed her to Europe for a vacation romance. She was a virgin until I got my hands on her. Now her scorching hot sensuality sets me on fire.

Then the vacation ended, and I knew I could never let her go.

So I brought her home to Ackerley Manor, where events quickly spin out of control. I was a fool to expose her to my malevolent history and think that we could build a future without interference.

But I refuse to let my past win. Tamsyn is mine and I plan to keep her. Whatever it takes…

HUSH MONEY is a billionaire, age-gap romance with a possessive hero and a strong young heroine. It’s book two in the brand-new Winter Trilogy. For fans of REBECCA.

The fact that this was a Rebecca retelling went over my head like wooshhh.

description

The moment where made me go, 'hmm, I feel like I've read an iteration of this story somewhere'. So, that was a surprise to me and only ME.

Anyhow. Onto the book!

In the first book, we went on a cruise with these two people, Lucien (the possessive rich billionaire) and Tamsyn (the broke nurse). Everything was hunky and dory. No drama, just a lot of spice. In this one, they were back from the vacation, and immediately, drama ensued.

One thing -and this includes the previous book- that I love about this book so much is our girl. Yes, I did think she was a little too plain in Book 1. I feel none of her personality showed too much in that one, but in this one, I think I fell in love with her a little bit. She, despite the age gap in this relationship, I fear, is the more mature one. It made the whole dynamic balanced out, her with her inexperience with worldly desires, but mature in her communication and feelings with our unhinged hero. She's a fresh breath of air for me, a contrast to some of your typical contemporary romance heroines.

And our love interest, Lucien, well, he's possessive, protective, manipulative and overall obsessively in love, and he admitted it himself. There is no length he wouldn't cross to protect his girl, and his sole point of living has hinged on her. Long story short, he's crazy in love and not afraid to show it. Honestly, my favourite type of archetype. In romance books that is. Don't get me wrong, wouldn't want a man like that irl. Too intense.

The book is easy to read, for me at least. It's just your typical comfort drama smutty contemporary romance with crazy ow drama. But it gets my juice going. My brain turning. And it's entertaining as fuck. What can I say? I love good dramas but without too much angst. And this one, despite the complicated situation the couple are in, there wasn't any angst to be found. Hence, my heart is safe and so should you, if you want to try this one.

All in all, I think this trilogy is perfect for those who want a simple love story between a rich older man who would do everything to keep his woman safe. Very much my kind of story.

This is the second book in the Winter trilogy, and since the first one ended on a cliffhanger, I’ve been (not so patiently) waiting for the next installment…

Let me tell you, I have never rooted against two people getting a happily ever after more than I did with Tamsyn and Lucien. As a duo and as individuals, they are absolutely ridiculous—but in the best way possible. I couldn’t put this book down. Every time I tried to stop reading, something wild would happen that kept me hooked.

Honestly, I’m not even sure if I want them to be together. On one hand, I feel like I’d miss the chaos, but I’m also actively praying for their downfall. Yet, at the same time, I secretly hope they pull through and end up happy. So yeah, I’m very torn.

This is my second book by this author, and she has an amazing ability to pull you in. You can’t help but become obsessed with the story. I even found myself rooting for the villain! In this case, the villain is Lucien—although Ravenna isn’t on my list of favorite people either. I still think Lucien is worse. Tamsyn really, really annoys me with how naïve she is, but can you really blame her?

Anyway, since this book also ended on a cliffhanger (somebody could’ve warned me!), I’ll be anxiously waiting for book three to get all the answers. And I really hope we get to see Miss Harper one more time, because that lady was hilarious!

I could scream!
Cliffhangers will be the death of me 😅
I absolutely loved this book. Lucien & Tamsyn were just as captivating as they were in Filthy Rich (book 1). The spice level wasn’t as high in this one but the plot more than made up for that! I honestly can’t wait for the final instalment of The Winter Trilogy!

Wow this was a great continuation to the first book! I loved how I got swept int the story. It added just enough about the last story that I could remember what happened and could pick up where I left off. Another story with stubborn main characters, which apparently I love. And there is a twist that leaves everyone reeling. Can't wait to read the conclusion to this story!

What you’ll find:
🩶 broody billionaire
🩶 age gap
🩶 touch her and 💀
🩶 alpha hero
🩶 grumpy x sunshine

This is the 2nd book in a trilogy (so you must read the first book, Filthy Rich, first and that was a 5 star read for me!) that continues the story of Lucien (33) and Tamsyn (22) and a surprise guest… The spice level was lower on this book compared to the first but I didn’t mind, as I was fully entrapped by their story. My heart was a mess and would actually aching as if I was the one going through all of that mess. I am obsessed with their story and I can’t wait to find out how it all ends!! Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to ARC read this for you!!

OMG Ava you can’t keep doing this.

Book2 in the Winter Trilogy and we get to carry on where we left off a new character has appeared and I could tell we were in for a ride with her and i wasn’t mistaken.

The Main characters Lucien and Tamsyn keep growing finding new things about each other.

Ravenna is showing sign of being a psychopath and this story has me on the edge of my seat wondering where this story is going to end

Can’t wait for this book to conclude to see if there is a HEA 🤞

For me it’s 4🌟

Hush Money by Ava Ryan, is the second book of The Winter Trilogy, the story begins where it left off in the previous book, when Tamsyn and Lucien return from the cruise to New York and it's there where Lucien's wife, Ravenna, whom presumed dead, appears on the property. This is going to completely unbalance the relationship that was beginning between them. Tamsyn tries to leave, but Lucien tells her that just because his wife showed up doesn't change anything, that he doesn't love her, that she is a bad woman and he was going to divorce her right before she disappeared. Tamsyn clings to that hope and even though she knows she may get hurt, she can't help but believe in Lucien. Lucien knows that Ravenna is capable of anything, she now claims not to know where she was or what happened during those two years that she was missing and plays at being innocent, but he knows very well that she is a manipulator and a very good actress. Tamsyn is full of doubts and Lucien's face full of hatred and anger towards his wife fills her with a little fear, but she soon begins to realize that Ravenna is a conniving woman. But nothing will prepare them for what Ravenna will try, where they could both lose their lives.
This story is exciting and has you trapped in its plot from the beginning. There is drama, angst, mystery, suspense and danger, also passion, sensuality and love. This couple has not yet earned their happily ever after, there are many questions still unanswered and the most important thing is to catch the woman who is a threat to their happiness, but for this we must wait for the next book to finally get the answers. I will definitely be looking forward to the conclusion of the story for Tamsyn and Lucien. Totally, Absolutely and Completely Highly Recommended!
*Thanks to Ava Ryan and Grey's Promotions for my ARC. I voluntarily leave my honest review*

¡Total, Absoluta y Completamente Altamente Recomendada!

Tamsyn and Lucien are finally together and things are looking up, until someone from his past storms in and upsets everything. Tamsyn has to decide if she'll stand up for herself, or let herself be drawn back into his web.

Oh the cliffhanger again!! You're killing me with these awful endings, Ava! I wanted to smack Lucien at the end, cuz the man reverted back to form and now poor Tamsyn world is off its kilter again, thanks to Lucien once again unilaterally making decisions for them. I am very impatiently waiting for the final part of this trilogy now - because I have to know how Tamsyn and Lucien get out of this mess Lucien got them into.

I am loving this series so far and Ava Ryan’s writing is just… wow! If I enjoyed the first two books this much, I can’t wait to read the last of the trilogy. I greedily ate this book up in less than 24 hours!

I love a broody billionaire romance; then add in an age gap makes it even better in my opinion.

The first book ends on a major plot twist! Which becomes the entire plot of the second book, lots of twists we don’t see coming. Lucien and Tamsyn’s honeymoon bubble has popped and they are thrusted back into reality as someone from Lucien’s past returns.

Still loving how powerful and possessive, Lucien is. Albeit at times overbearing, all he does for Tamsyn comes from a place of love and protection. Tamsyn is swooped up in the whirlwind romance with the enigmatic Lucien. As she uncovers some of his secrets she finds herself on the fence of whether or not she should stay, however she cares deeply for him but doesn’t know how they overcome the obstacles that are dropped in their path.

Their chemistry only gets better in this book, the push and pull will give you a bit of whiplash, but is understandable all things considered. Lucien’s infatuation with Tamsyn only increases, growing into love and concern for her well being to the highest degree. Tamsyn opens her heart to the broody billionaire, and is willing to accept his faults/secrets because of how deeply she cares for him when the cracks in their relationship begin to crumble.

This story is angsty, filled with so much emotion, and that ending… Ugh, that is one heck of a cliffhanger… again! I thoroughly enjoyed this book; it had the right things to keep you on the edge of your seat trying figure out what is going to happen next.

Thank you so so much to Ava Ryan and the Author Agency for the ARC. I am counting down the days until we get that third and final installment of Lucien and Tamsyn’s story.

A rollercoaster of passion, betrayal, and heart-stopping twists!
★★★★★

Ava Ryan does it again with Hush Money, pulling me right back into the intoxicating world of Tamsyn and Lucien. This book is a thrilling continuation of their story, and let me tell you, I couldn’t put it down! The intensity, the passion, and the drama between these two had me hooked from start to finish.

Tamsyn and Lucien’s connection is even deeper in this book, but nothing could prepare me for the bombshell twist—his wife, who we thought was dead, is very much alive, and she’s manipulative to the core! The way she shows up and immediately starts trying to get between Tamsyn and Lucien had my heart racing. It added so much tension and intrigue, and I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see how they would navigate this.

Lucien’s protective and possessive nature shines through, especially with his dark, twisted past coming back to haunt them in the worst way possible. Tamsyn, as always, is strong and determined, refusing to let Lucien’s past or his wife’s games tear them apart. I loved her resilience and the way she stood up for their love, even as the stakes got higher.

The push and pull between Tamsyn and Lucien is fiery and filled with emotion, and their chemistry is just as hot as ever. The twists and turns in this story had me glued to the pages, and the emotional depth of their relationship kept me fully invested.

If you loved the first book in the Winter Trilogy, Hush Money is a must-read. It takes everything up a notch with more danger, more passion, and a twist that will leave you desperate for the next book. Ava Ryan knows how to deliver an unforgettable, heart-pounding romance, and I can’t wait to see where this story goes next!

I have been waiting for this one, specially how it ended in book one.
I'm hoping you have read book 1 by now and you will know his deceased wife turns up randomly in the end.
It was a sad moment because Tamsyn and Lucien were finally at a happy place. This just up ended everything!!
I won't say much but what Lucien says is even bigger shock.
Now they have to figure out how they are going to work through this drama.
I don't like Ravenna, I could straight away see her devious behaviour.
Lucien is in love with Tamsyn and he still wants her. Unfortunately Ravenna isn't going without a fight, even if it means murder!!
There is a lot of drama and emotional roller-coaster between them both.
Tamsyn does let Ravenna get into her head at times, even if she knows it's all lies.
They still have the best chemistry and delicious spice.
I was not expecting what lucien does in the end 💔. I thought it was just a plan but it seemed real.
The that cliffhanger!!! Urgh this is why I don't do Trilogy's and duets. I don't like waiting and it seems like months away before we get the end.
I have a suspicion about another character and I think we will see it in book 3. That person doesn't sit well with me. Now I need to wait 5 more months 😭.
Absolutely loved this, my heart was literally on the edge throughout not knowing what will happen next with everything. Great story so far.

Review:
This is the 2nd in a trilogy so you have to read the first since this takes place moments after the previous one ends. But you absolutely must run and not walk to both!

Tamsyn and Lucien are faced with the return of a certain someone whose emergence is not without an avalanche of drama. The way the psychological aftermath is explored is again very inline with "Rebecca" and is a riveting contemporary gothic thriller mystery!

Lucien's mercurial persona is even more dramatically flexed. This man has demons, he has fears that manifest to extremes but he means well (those pained grey eyes have me bewitched). Tamsyn's innate goodness is able to keep his warming heart beating in steady tempo at times, but with circumstances escalating at Ackerlay house...their love, trust and lives are pushed to the brink!

Tension ramps up in this book with the smooth gear shift of a purring Jaguar. I was racing through and finished in a few hours because these two people are mesmerizing together and the events unfolding are layer upon layer of "now what?!" goodness. The stakes have been raised to a boiling point by the end...how can I possibly wait for the final installment? I'm teetering at the precipice of sweet tension and I just know the conclusion will be absolutely spellbinding!

I just finished Hush Money, and I have to say, it was quite the ride! This book is a fantastic blend of romance and suspense that kept me hooked from the very first page.

The story follows Tamsyn, a young woman whose life takes an unexpected turn when she crosses paths with a wealthy and enigmatic man. I found Tamsyn to be a relatable character, and her journey of self-discovery amidst the chaos was both engaging and thought-provoking. The chemistry between her and her love interest is electric, and I loved how their relationship unfolded, filled with tension and emotional depth.

Ava Ryan does a great job of exploring themes of obsession and redemption, which added layers to the narrative. I appreciated the well-developed characters and the way their backstories intertwined with the main plot. The pacing was generally spot-on, keeping me invested, although there were a few familiar tropes that felt a bit predictable.

What truly stood out to me was the way Ryan crafted the suspense elements. There were moments that had me on the edge of my seat, eagerly turning pages to see what would happen next. The blend of romance and intrigue made it hard to put down!

Overall, I’d give Hush Money a solid four stars. It’s an enjoyable read that offers a mix of steamy romance and thrilling twists. If you’re a fan of billionaire romances, I highly recommend diving into this one!

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.

This is the second book in The Winter Trilogy. You have to have read Filthy Rich or you are going to be lost. We left off at the end of that book with a huge cliffhanger. This is the continuation of Lucien and Tamsyn's story. Things are about to take a psycho turn in a hurry. I don't even know that I know how to review this book. There is so much that I can say but they all seem likes spoilers to me. I think the best way to go into this book is to go in blind. I don't think knowing that Lucien has a problem returning and when I say I returning I mean flipping the world as we know it on it axis. How is this going to affect Tamsyn and Lucien. I have to admit that I was a little more than nervous and it isn't long until you're figuring out that we are not dealing with a stable person. I had no clue which way this was going to go and was hanging on every single word in this book. Now I can't wait to find out how this trilogy is going to wrap up. I am so hoping that February is just a place holder and we don't have to wait that long for the final book. I need to know what is going to happen right this second. I never said I wasn't a greedy reader.

Wow! I absolutely loved this continuation to Lucien and Tamsyn’s love story. I had a lot of emotions while reading it.

*SPOILERS AHEAD*

This book starts off where the previous one ended. With Lucien’s past thrown back into his life, Tamsyn doubts herself and her place in his life. It doesn’t help that said past plants seeds of doubt about Lucien’s fidelity and his behaviour.

Lucien is determined to keep Tamsyn no water what. He realises the depth of his feelings for her and that just sealed her fate. But through series of horrible events, Lucien made a decision that will break both their hearts.

Throughout the whole book many questions were answered but many more questions arose. The last few chapters broke my heart. The end was shocking to say the least. I have my suspicions about what’s going on and what will happen and I hope I’m right. But for now, I can’t wait for the third and final instalment of this trilogy.

Overall I loved this book very much. If you haven’t started reading this trilogy yet, then you should if you like an age gap, forced proximity, billionaire with secrets romance.

Hush Money : A Billionaire Age Gap Romance ( The Winter Trilogy Book 2)

This second book continues right where book 1 stops. The late Mrs. Winters appears out of no where. She wss lost a sea two years ago. This is a big mystery for everyone close to Lucien home. Of course she can't remember who she is or where she has been. She has a cruel intensity against Tamsyn. Her husband has no idea why she is back being the witch she was before she disappeared. Lucien decided along before she disappeared to divorce her and she has decided to try and get rid of Talent by sitting fire to the cottage that Taken was sleeping in, she was saved by Lucien. After that Ravenna disappears. The police come to the house and tell her husband that she is dead and wants to know where he has been. He sent Tamsyn away to protect her from Ravenna. Anyways this story had a lot of drama and action. Keep you on your seat, trying to find everything that was happening. A must read. The third book will be the last book in the series and I can't wait to see whatever happens next. This author has done a fantastic job in writing this book. ENJOY!!!

Tamsyn found herself in a bit of a prediciment when her summer fling goes awry. Shes stuck, emotionally, mentally, romantically, and physically. Lucien Winter has a past that has revealed itself, and he wants to keep his secrets.

Hush Money was a page turning. fast paced read. I loved the characters dynamics with each other, their inner monologues, and the twists. It was easy to imagine the scene, what they were seeing and hearing. Kept me on my toes, I needed to know what happened! Ava's writing is easy and takes you through the world by hand.

I do wish there was a bit more character depth or something to make them more relateable. I did like how they interacted with each other, but I felt no connection to them. To me, this read more of a mystery than a romance, I felt off about both POVs as it felt like one of them was lying, which made it hard to buy into their romantic connection.

Overall, this was the perfect read to transition from summer romances into fall mystery/thriller reads.

Hush Money is the 2nd book in the Winter Trilogy and continues where book 1 left off.
Lucien & Tamsyn are finally home and then we are introduced to a new character who threatens to upset everything.

This billionaire, age gap story held my attention until the end as as everything is not as it seems and there was never a dull moment. With the unexpected twists and turns these two have to navigate their reality so as to to overcome the obstacles place in their path.

Lucian's possessiveness and infatuation with Tamsyn continues to grow, and she in turn continues to fall for him. When circumstances start escalating at their home, the unfolding events push their love and lives to the brink.

The mystery and suspense took us on quite a roller-coaster ride and had me at the edge of my seat. This story was angsty and emotional and ends in a major cliff-hanger that has me wanting the 3rd book now. I enjoyed it and would definitely recommend it.

To say I was eagerly awaiting this release would be a huge understatement. That cliffhanger from book 1 (Filthy Rich) literally had my jaw on the floor. I knew Ava Ryan was coming back swinging with book 2 and she did not disappoint.

Lucien and Tamsyn are absolutely captivating and they sucked me in yet again. I couldn't get enough. Ravenna's sudden return took this story on a crazy rollercoaster ride that I don't ever want to get off of.

The mystery and suspense, and what's going to happen next had me on the edge of my seat until the very end. Another shocking cliffhanger ending has me wanting to fast forward time to get the final installation of this trilogy. I can't even imagine what Ava Ryan has up her sleeve for us to tie this up with a pretty bow.

I will not be OK if there's not an HEA for Lucien and Tamsyn on the horizon. My heart will simply not recover.

OH. MY. GOD!

Heartstopping, heartbreaking, and breathtakingly good.

Lucien Winter is powerful, hot, and rich. An assumed widower. Until his wife reappears on a stormy night without answers to where she has been the last two years and wants her husband back!

Tamsyn Scott was slowly falling for the handsome man she had met just weeks before. Now his wife has returned, she couldn't possibly stay.

While her relationship with Lucien is red hot the fact he is married and his wife has returned still remains.

Not everything is what it seems, and Hush Money had me on the edge of my seat.
With Ravenna, it was so darned mysterious, which made it even more gripping!

I freaking loved it and can not wait to finish Lucien and Tamsyn's story in Final Cost.

Definitely recommend 👌

Hush Money, the second book in the Winter Trilogy, is freaking amazing! What a fantastic follow up to Filthy Rich!!! This book is not a stand alone.

Ok I won’t give any spoilers in my review(which going to be hard because this book was so good I want to go over every detail of it with everyone!) but let’s just say it is going to be the opposite of what you think when you start this book. I.was.shocked.

I can’t wait for this book to be in everyone’s hands! Also, can February hurry up and get so we can find out if Lucien and Tamsyn will get the happily ever after they both deserve?

Thank you to Ava Ryan for the ARC of this book!

This is the second part in this intriguing trilogy and is a continuations of Lucien and Tamsin’s journey.
Tansin is fueled by self-doubt, and where her place is in Lucien’s life, while his past has come back to haunt him, and he is possessive and determined to keep Tamsin in his life.
Many questions are answered in this story, but there are so many more need answered, and this story ends in a huge cliffhanger.
This is a well written story which has emotions, heartbreak, an age gap, revelations, mystery, forced proximity, secrets, suspense, obsession, romance, and love, which leads to an entertaining, spicy, thrilling, and captivating page turner.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

I didn't read Book 1 before reading Hush Money, the Winter Trilogy Book 2. That did not bother me as much as getting to the cliffhanger ending unaware I was reading a trilogy! I enjoyed the plot that has a newly minted nurse, Tamsyn, involved with a rich older man, Lucien, whose wife, Ravenna, disappeared two years ago. Just as they return from their Mediterranean cruise where they fell in with each other, to his Great Neck Mansion, Ravenna turns up with a concussion and memory loss. WOW, neither Tamsyn nor I could tell who was the Puppet Master, manipulating and controlling, Lucien, who we both love, or his wife!

Dang! Book 3, Final Cost, won't be released until February 11, 2025. I dock cliffhangers a star.

I inhaled this book as soon as it hit my kindle because once I started it, I did not put it down until I reached "Thank you for reading Hush Money". In fact I read it twice in 1 week just to make sure I had all the details right in my head. It was such a good read. This whole series has quickly become one of my favorites. The entire time I kept going back and forth regarding who to believe and that is priceless in a story like this one. The plot is captivating and suspenseful. The romance is delicious and steamy. The characters are just lovable and hateable. I could not get enough and I can't wait to get more!!!

I loved this book more then the first book
Lucien and Tamsyn have had to deal with soooooo much (SPOILER CANT SAY) and this book shows how they deal with it all.
I can’t disclose too much to be honest as I feel everything would be a spoiler BUT I really enjoyed this book AND OMG that cliffhanger!!! Ava I didn’t think you could beat the cliffhanger from the first book but this was the cliffhanger of all cliffhangers and I cannot wait for the finale
Thank you to Ava and Greys Promotions for gifting me this ARC in exchange for my honest review

i couldn't wait to see what was coming for lucien and tamsyn in hush money and was so excited when i was asked if i would like to beta read it. tamsyn bothered me in this book. how she fought everything with lucien instead of talking. and her strong hold on independence. lucien could have loosened the reins a bit too. they didn’t even really try to meet in the middle. i felt like they really needed to talk more instead of just reacting. this did not take away from the book though. i still really enjoyed it. i wasn't as shocked as i thought i would be at the end of the book. but it still got me. i cannot wait to see what happens in the final book.

Where do I even begin.. after the cliffhanger ending book leads to Lucien’s wife magical reappearance after being presumed dead 2 years ago I didn’t imagine how that could be beat! When his wife washed to shore injured with no memory Tamsyn steps up even through her shell shock to be the nurse she needs to. She had accepted the fact they love story is now over but when she tries to leave Lucien stops her promising her nothing has changed. We know it can’t be that easy. Lucien wife begins planting doubt in Tamsyn mind of who Lucien truly is. This story ends very sad and on another cliffhanger. I seriously can’t wait to see what the final book brings

This book was so incredibly suspenseful, and dramatic! It was a great addition to the first one and leaves you so excited for what is to come next. Lucien is SOOO infuriating in this book you won't know how you feel about him.. Just like Tamsyn .. That poor girl got herself in a super stressful situation being with Lucien.. AND THE PSYCHO WOMAN... This whole story had you wanting to know what was going to come next. What drama could be next. It was really good and I cannot wait for book 3 to see where this trilogy goes!

Hush Money is book two in the Winter Trilogy. Book one, Filthy Rich, ended on quite the cliffhanger, and this book picks up right where that left off. It dives right into the story with no preamble.

Ava has a knack for grabbing your attention at the start and keeping you on the edge of your seat up until the end. I want to throttle Lucian and Raveena for very different reasons all while giving Tamsyn a hug. This book ends on yet another delicious hangover, and I can’t wait for the final book in this trilogy to see how it all plays out.
